Hi, I was hired about 3 months ago as a bather and I already hate it here. :( I left a privately owned dog hotel in hopes of higher pay and an enjoyable job. I was given many false promises and accepted the position. Since then, my mental health has been hindered nearly every day. Here are some of the issues: The call center is bogus as it is right now. They constantly over book and do not take into consideration the type/size of dog receiving service, leaving me under major stress to complete it within an hour which is just impossible for some dogs. This causes me to lose out and NOT take my breaks throughout the shift. Many days I go for an 8-9 hour shift nauseous without stopping for a meal break due to the pressure of getting these dogs out and pet parents satisfied. Further, if a walk in happens for nails, I have to stop and kennel the dog immediately to go check them in and do the trim/grinding. These can happen b2b, and it still falls on the bather to complete them no matter how many or how long it takes, all while ignoring your current /booked/ dog. There’s been times 5-6 walk in nail trims have arrived, and took the entire hour slot up that I was supposed to have my appointment dog finished. The pet parent was unhappy with this, and likely will not be back.
There is also a pressure to accept known dangerous/aggressive dogs. If I see a note in their profile that says known to bite/has bitten before, I still am told to perform that service and risk my own health. Our salon has a lack of e-collars, and the muzzles dont always hold as they should. There has been several times a dog has successfully gotten out of the fully tightened and buckled muzzle, and/or thrown off the e-collacone and drawn blood.
Unfortunately for me, I can’t quit due to heavy bills I’m facing, but something has got to change and I’m unsure of what to do? My store leader knows all of this and refuses to do anything about it.

hello im 16 and i went to the nail salon today and they were playing country music. they played a song that made me go like "omg this song reminds me of my childhood." all i can remember is that i think a lyric is "will you still love me." the song was definitely more on the popular side, it was a man singing and a mix between rock, country and pop. i think it's from either the late 2000's or early 2010's. i tried googling i cant find anything. pls help im not able to sleep over this it's a compulsive obsession.

What do you ladies (and gentlemen) use to track sales? My wife has a small nail salon business with a 50/50 biz partner and two part time employees. Is there an app that allows her to easily record work type and amount charged each day so she can export to quick books for taxes and reconcile easily?
I know she can use a spreadsheet, but an app with set categories she makes (ie acrylics, gel, pedicures) and then extra designs add ons would be so helpful. She can also track tips too via credit card or cash.
Something free or low cost would be amazing as her business is only a couple of years old.

Hi all,
The very first time I got gel nail polish done was at a salon in the airport. It was great!! It didn’t chip AT ALL in a month.
Then I went to a local salon and got it redone after a month. It wasn’t as great as the first time because it chipped after two weeks.
Then I decided to start doing my nails at home to save money, so I bought the supplies and did my gel nail polish yesterday. They chipped today!!
I don’t know why they chipped since I did everything right, but it’s very frustrating to me since I turned to gel nail polish to avoid chipping like with regular nail polish.
Any tips or tricks on how to get gel nail polish not to chip?

Looking for a salon in SF who does Gelx and does a really good job!! I used to go to the nail room on Geary but their customer service and retention has been bad.
I’m looking for someone who might be really good at shaping and keeping them looking natural!
I do almond shape nails and sometimes like to do a cute little design but I’m pretty basic most of the time.
Would love any recommendations!! Open to salons or at home technicians.

So I got my first full blown walk out from this drunk dude. I've had people not leave enough money or their card only covers so much but never this. This dude comes in says there will be 2 and he's waiting on his wife at the nail salon (we hear this all the time with the nail salon being right next door) he orders a Coors light bottle and a double of fireball. He essentially downs the fireball in less than 5 mins and asks for a second, assuring me his wife will be here soon and how sorry he is it's taking so long. I ring in a second double for him and we chat for a bit, seems like a nice dude and did not seem "fucked up" at all. Bring the second one to him he downs that one and orders an app. Ten minutes go by and he's only had a few bites of his app and then he straight up fell asleep in his seat ( he was older, just thought he was really tired). He wakes up and asks for a third double, he hasn't touched his Coors at all, at that point I tell him we're not comfortable serving him anymore alcohol because he kept falling asleep. He doesn't fight me at all on it and just says "okay". He starts getting up and heading toward the front I said "hey are you coming back" he says "oh yeah I'm just smoking a cig". I tell my coworker to keep an eye on him while I deal with other tables, she comes back seconds later saying he's still walking and is halfway down the parking lot. I immediately get on the comms and let management know to call the cops and full sprint to this guy out in the parking lot. As I'm shouting "sir! Sir!" He starts picking up the pace and starts speed walking! (He was old, he wasn't outrunning me lol) finally catch up and at this point im pissed, I say "you can't just walk out on a tab like that you piece of shit" he starts freaking out saying he doesn't have any money to pay for it, so I start asking about his "wife" and if she can pay. He goes "she's not here". At this point I call him out on everything " so you lied about your wife, you lied about having a cig and now you're saying you can't pay for your tab either?" He just kept looking at me, I start leading him back to the restaurant, cops arrive, we trespass him. Come to find out that he did the same at a restaurant in the same plaza no less than 2 hours before he got to us.
Just wanted to rant, this was the first time I've ever seen someone blatantly walk out like that. Anyone else have crazy walk out stories to make me feel better lol. All his food and drinks were comped of course so I got nothing but the satisfaction of seeing him get grilled by the police.

My kids friend has come to me on multiple occasions stating that her mom is mean to her. I’ve know this family for a couple years now, mom is a single mom and has one child. I do not agree with majority of her parenting style but I don’t judge based on that. This child has said she has to clean the whole house daily, cook for herself (since age 7) do the dishes and laundry even so far as cleaning her moms room. I understand doing chores but I feel it’s excessive. The mom cusses at this child and calls her an asshole and a jerk and she gets grounded upwards of 3 months at a time for not completing all the housework or to much phone time (this is the only way she has to socialize with other kids). The mom took her of out of school has no plans to incorporate a curriculum. Makes this child work at her nail salon during the day ( sweeping, sanitizing, etc) the child has stated that she does not want to live with her mom anymore. I’ve informed the grandmother of all of this with the hope that she would be able to do something legally, she has done nothing. ( I was hoping to stay a safe house for her, if I say something it might jeopardize that) the last time she spent the night here we realized the child stole some stuff from my kid and my husband doesn’t want her here anymore. Is it enough to warrant a call to CPS? I just don’t know what to do.

You know what’s absolutely mind fkn idiotic? There’s a shopping center across the street from my house. I can literally see my house from the windows of the stores. I thought I could come here to finally get my nails done for an upcoming trip that I’m also scared of, and I’m BARELY hanging on inside this nail salon. I can hardly do this and I’m supposed to get on a plane tomorrow? I mean what was I thinking? The spontaneous adventure loving side of me isn’t meshing with this terrified agoraphobic side of me. It’s a constant clash. It’s defeating. It’s exhausting. It’s infuriating. It’s sad. It’s disheartening. It’s disappointing. 6/23/21 was my first big, bad panic attack. And here I STILL am. Better for sure but fuck. I don’t know why I’m still plagued with this crap after all the work I’ve done. Throwing a pity party for myself at this point. 1, 2, 3… “aaawww”.

So I’ve finally gotten sick and tired of paying ridiculous amounts of money just for my hands to look civil lol.
Started looking into polygel home kits etc., but quickly became VERY confused and would die for some veteran advice.
I love having nail extensions but would like to start doing them myself at home. Polygel seems to be the simplest option so far, but does anyone have other ideas? Preferrably straying away from having a full blown nail salon on my desk - a fan, nail drills and so on :,)
Any advice/experience is very much appreciated!!

Could anyone recommend a good nail salon? I have visited a couple for nail extensions but had bad experiences in both the places. Budget wouldn’t be an issue for me. Anywhere from bhawanipur to saltlake would do.
