My first boy Hunter turns 3 years old in September. He was neutered 1.5 years ago. He's a lilac british shorthair. He was all good before. It started in November, where he was seen limping from time to time. He was still okay and after a while he would go back to normal. He didn't start deteriorating until January. There were these rash-like spots behind his ears in which we took him to the vet for. At the same time, most of his whiskers broke we thought he might have fought with the other cat, but that wasn't it. He started losing hair behind his ears. Vet dismissed any seriousness, said it was allergies, gave us some drops to apply behind the ears and some antihistamine medications. We also did a blood test along with some enzyme pannels, it all pretty much came out healthy with nothing concerning. We used the treatment, but that did not do much. Still, at that time, he also stated losing weight, and became a very fussy eater. The rash healed with time but there was still a hairless patch behind both of his ears. In March, he got much worse. His hair got coarse and wasn't as fluffy, he lost a lot of his hair, his tail became really thin, he lost a lot of weight. The bald patch behind his ears grew larger and from time to time it got bloody from him scratching it. He also scratching the back of his head, chin, chest, and such places. His hip also seems strange when he moves. We paid another visit to the vet (different clinic), hoping to solve the issue. We got an x-ray for him. The vet said that Hunter kept crying while getting his hip and bottom half examined as well as during the x ray (he said thats fine because it can be a little invasive and may cause discomfort). The vet said there is nothing particularly wrong from the x ray. He said it's just allergies and just prescribed more allergy medication. We are so worried about him. He has lost about 2.5 pounds and looks much slimmer than before. He shakes his head frequently please help if anyone had similar experience. We've tried different treatments and drops but we're unsure of the cause, and the 3 vets we took him to claimed it was an allergic reaction, although i doubt it. I will be taking him to the vet again at the end of the week (a different clinic again) and pray that he will be better.

Its a genre I like to stay away from personally, so I can't suggest him anything I think he'll like apart from Re:Zero and Mushoku Tensei which we enjoyed a lot. He isn't into ones that feel too sexual, and I don't think he loves the harem thing but may tolerate it if the story is good?
We both liked Re:Zero and Mushoku Tensei. He also loved Hunter X Hunter and Death Parade. I think he's wanting a strictly fantasy like setting though.

I enjoy watching anime, but due to my short attention span watching subs is visually and mentally overwhelming for me. It can take up to an hour to watch a thirty minute episode as I find myself rewinding to rewatch scenes that I find aesthetically appealing and pausing to catch what was said in a particular moment.
I enjoy pretty much anything granted there isn’t too much filler or the filler is entertaining/expands on character development.
I don’t have a particular genre and I’ve watched many mainstream series like FMA Brotherhood, AOT, Hunter X Hunter, One Punch Man, and Demon Slayer.
Just looking for something interesting and dubbed with a compelling story.

I know it’s subjective but to give some clarity, these are my fav anime I have completed and my ratings for them. Bebop is the only 10 I’ve given because I think it’s the only masterpiece out of them all. I’m all for suggestions of anime you consider a masterpiece even if others don’t. Cheers

I’ve tried watching Hunter x Hunter (2011) on two different occasions and ended up dropping it both times because I wasn’t really into it. The show gets so much praise so I was really hoping to fall in love with it like so many others. The most recent time I watched it, I made it to end of the Greed Island arc. Admittedly, I’m not a big fan of battle shonen anime to begin with so it may just not be for me. I get the show is both utilizing and trying to subvert a lot of the tropes of the genre, but a lot of it felt pretty by-the-numbers to me in many ways. I found the story and world to be interesting but the character writing didn’t really do much for me. I know the Chimera Ant Arc is supposed to be really good but idk if I should continue since I haven’t been hooked so far. I know so many people really enjoy the series and I feel like I’m missing something. Should I give the show another try?
EDIT: I appreciate all the constructive input from all the fans and that most of you were very cordial in your responses. As much as I hate to say it, I just don’t think I’m the type of person to get into this series. It’s nice that there are so many people that can appreciate the author’s vision even if I’m not one of them :)
