2023.03.30 00:13 Choice-Reserve-8922 What is the optimal price to display on your Facebook Marketplace posting for your listing?
I've read that you can actually get more clicks by pricing your ad differently than the actual price of the home. What are some opinions on what price to put to get serious buyers clicking on your ad?
For an idea...I've heard of putting the average monthly mortgage payment w/ 20% down is a decent way to go if you don't want to expose the price right away.

2023.03.29 23:50 kilomike71 Lots of Case 580s in the market
I'm not exactly buying in the heavy equipment market right now, but I pay attention.
But I've noticed something.
There is a LOT- I mean A LOT, of 2015 to 2018 Case 580s floating in my local market. And they're priced fairly, I think.
So my natural curiosity has me asking why. So, are Case 580s junk or is there something not so special about them? Should I buy one? 😅
Also, an example ad, in CAD:

2023.03.29 22:46 Malaska5 Help identifying this meinl weston
| I’ve been looking around Facebook marketplace day dreaming about buying a tuba, when I came across this meinl Weston. It says that it’s a euphonium, but I thought the majority of their euphs had curved bells. It also says band instrument 1020, which I can’t find in a google search. Any ideas what this may be? submitted by Malaska5 to Tuba [link] [comments] |
2023.03.29 22:34 dan7843292 advice needed in regards with maintenance work performed by a LBS
TL:DR LBS changed a disc rotor because it was rubbing but i appears that the problem is the caliper but they fail to notice it and now i have to pay for the caliper as well.
I have been battling depression to the point i left my bike unattended for a long time.
I tried to pick up cycling so i went to a bike shop and took their highest maintenance bundle which includes washing degreasing and verifying everything, purging etc.
when I go to pick up my bike, they tell me they had to change the front disc. they did not manage to true it. that was my first surprise as the discs and wheels are 6 months old. I bought a new wheelset with discs and cassette in august, did perhaps a couple of hundred km then got clinically depressed and did not ride for months. can a disc go out of true that fast? (they were shimano discs)
but okay i accept their professional advice and pay the maintenance plus a new disc around 250 in total :(
fast forward a few days later put the bike in my stand spin the wheel and the disc is rubbing more than ever. why did i pay a super expensive maintenance and a brand new disc ?
I ride the bike back to the LBS wait for 2 hours and near to closing time they tell me that the caliper is faulty that it doesn't retreat fast enough and that causes the disc to rub. that a new caliper will be needed. they don't manage to stop the rubbing with the current caliper.
I don't know how to access this situation. I believe they did a professional mistake by changing the disc and not thoroughly verified that it was still rubbing and should have changed the caliper and not the disc.
They said they tested the bike but how? it is true that if you ride it with cars and background noise you almost don't hear except downhill. at least I do :(
should i ask and point out their mistake and have them change the caliper for free plus whatever is needed to change it (purging, etc).?
needless to say this does not help my mental state. i feel so frustrated all i want to do now is put the bike in facebook marketplace and be done with it :(
what would you do?
thank you

2023.03.29 22:16 CannibalWalrus Whoops, fell for one
Yesterday I had the misfortune of falling for a scam. Thankfully our loss wasn't huge, but it still hurts especially considering I've watched hundreds of hours of Kitboga's content. But it wasn't a scam that Kit usually covers (phone scams, social security, refunds, etc), it was a Facebook Marketplace scam.
Recently I lost my iPad coming back from a trip and I left it in the plane, I was looking to buy a new one and saw a listing that seemed more than reasonably priced. My husband was wary and noticed some red flags, but I was really desparate to get a new tablet because I needed to complete a few commissions. Once I sent the payment through Zelle, it was too late and by then I realized my mistake and my husband was suspicious all along about the whole ordeal. He recognized and knew the red flags, and I did too, but I let my trust get to the better of me. The person I was speaking to was very personable and..well, real. I even looked into the profile to confirm it was a person and not just a newly made account.
As knowledgable as my husband and I are, I still managed to let the red flags slip and give this person my trust considering they posted that they were within my area, they were recovering from an accident, and even said 'no scams, I know them well enough'. I still feel really dumb for letting it happen, but it's a lesson learned. All necessary action and reports have been done, now I play the waiting game and I do some stuff on my end to help get some of the lost money back.
Without Kit's content and knowledge, tbh my husband and I probably wouldn't have really noticed the red flags or fully known that it was a scam. Thank you Kit for constantly creating helpful and funny content, it's like you've said before, watching the content is funny and all, but at the end of the day it's sad and frustrating to really know the actual intent of these people. Again, thank you for what you do. <3

2023.03.29 22:09 antheus1 2002 CAAD5 Saeco worth $500?
The description is below. I'm looking for a lighter road bike for the summer (right now I have a Fuji Touring) and long-term will put either this or the fuji onto my bike trainer for the winter. I know these bikes have a bit of a following, that doesn't really matter much to me, I'm just wondering if it's worth the 500-575 the owner wants for it and if not, what should I pay for something like this?
VERY Nice Condition Cannondale CAAD5 Seaco 2002. 2x9 Shimano 105 UPDATED description Made in the USA $575 OBO over $500 58CM Paint is beautiful Ultegra brakes Cinelli saddle seat Mavix CPX 21 wheels Conto 23's on it now Have 2 extra sets of tires 23 and 25 ONE ISSUE. Right shifter randomly tends to flap/not engage on the upshift. Downshift works fine, UPDATE:I sprayed WD 40 into the shifter on advice from my LBS and engaged/disengaged the shiter 50 times and it seems to be working.

2023.03.29 21:50 FrameOld9784 Facebook Sale Gone Wrong???
I sold a 3D printer on Facebook Marketplace last night. The sale was rushed as it was late yesterday but the buyer picked up at around 10:15 PM. The printer was fully functional upon the sale however the buyer refused when I asked him if he wanted to test it saying "I trust you and it is late". I posted pictures of the printer and they clearly showed it was functional as well. Later that night the buyer has an issue and he is not able to get it to work as the printer is stuck on an updating screen. I stay up until 1 am that night trying to help him and offering solutions. My guess is when he switched networks on it forced an update which got stuck. Nonetheless, an hour ago he messaged me demanding a refund and saying that he is going to have police escort him to my place to give him a refund. I tell him I couldn't offer him a refund but that I can help him set it up if he brings it. He then proceeds to tell me that he called the non-emergency number for police escort and that he will be filing a civil case and pursuing a civil action if I do not refund him the $400 that he paid for it. I'm not too familiar with laws on how this works but I did read that facebook market sales are final and refunds are not obligated. However, I am still a bit startled by this as I am in my early 20's and have never dealt with a civil case or anything legal for that matter. I am in the state of texas as well if that helps. What should I do?

2023.03.29 21:44 Top_Monk_575 Can I get my parcel I sent back - scammed
So I sold my laptop on Facebook Marketplace, they sent payment via Wise, I checked wise was legit and it is but since have received emails from ‘wise’ stating payment will be made today, then in 3-5 hours, then tomorrow. I stupidly sent the parcel today and sent confirmation but now totally have been scammed as the emails are not from Wise. I have tracked the parcel and it states Royal Mail have the item, is there any way I can stop it being delivered and return to senders address?
I know I shouldn’t have sent it before receiving payment, I was genuinely gullible and fell for this scam so please only comment with help on getting parcel back

Passed the MSF course and looking to buy a used bike. Saw this listing for a really attractive bike and was wondering if it would be a good purchase. Never used Facebook marketplace so some insight on what to look for in a listing would be helpful.

2023.03.29 21:21 xbreetennesseex A friend wanted tips for newbies so I made a list. Feel free to suggest additions!
All Services:
-Make sure to always do a meet and greet. I prefer doing these at the home where the care will take place (boarding, at your house; walks/drop-ins, at their house), but there can be substantial safety risks involved if you choose this option.
-Always carry a fanny pack (or similar) with poop bags, treats, and pepper spray.
-Invest in a few collars of different sizes with basic tags that say something like “I’m lost! Call xxx-xxx-xxxx” with YOUR phone number. I have cared for a handful of dogs who have not provided ID for their dogs. In the unlikely event that a dog does get loose, I want people to be able to contact me immediately if found.
-Ask the owner for clear, written instructions regarding expectations, medications, feedings, exercise, etc (depending on the service)
-Make a note of any allergies or medical accommodations the pet may have.
-Don’t be afraid to say NO to a dog/owner that will not be a good fit for you.
-Know your worth. Cheaper prices may get you more business, but it can quickly get physically and mentally exhausting. Burnout is real!
-Do not take services off of Rover until/unless you have an established relationship with the person, and insurance. Rover will cover medical/vet bills for pets; unless you have insurance, if you take it off-app, that will come out of your pocket instead.
Boarding:
-I recommend only taking dogs that are crate trained; Rover will not cover damages to your belongings, and the owners likely won’t, either.
-If an owner says their dog is crate trained, try testing it out. You can either test it during the meet and greet if you have a spare crate, or offer to do a discounted, short daycare stay so you can see how the dog acts in your home.
-Invest in spare crates of different sizes. Even getting some cheap/free from local buy/sell groups, or Facebook Marketplace. Not every owner will provide their own crate, even if their dog is crate trained. (always ask them if they can provide it, and if they say no, ask them what size their dog is used to, or use your best judgment)
-Always ask if their dog has any bad habits, such as destruction of property, door barging, digging, fence hopping, etc. Owners may lie so be cautious with any dog, regardless of the response.
-Crate or otherwise separate dogs at meal times, and when unattended. This will keep your dogs and home safe, and will keep client dogs out of trouble.
Drop-ins:
-Check out the neighborhood in person and on google maps at/before your meet and greet.
-Make a note of the condition of the house when you arrive, and always try to leave it the same, or better before you leave.
-Don’t do anything you’re not comfortable with such as tidying their home, feeding their goldfish, etc if it was not discussed prior to the booking, and always feel free to ask for extra compensation (which can be done through the app; make sure they approve the additional charge BEFORE you do the extra services)
Walks:
-Again, check out the neighborhood in person and on google maps at/before your meet and greet.
-Ask the owner if they have a preferred walking path or know of places to avoid.
-When looking at google maps, I always try to find a park or something that is within walking distance, especially if there are few sidewalks in the neighborhood.
-Ask the owner if the dog has any reactivity issues, or other behaviors that may be a problem such as pulling, laying down randomly on the walk (I have a client who does this), etc

Hey everyone, I am in between leases and need to find a one month rental in Halifax for June 2023. I’ve looked up Facebook market place and Airbnb but everything on Airbnb is super expensive (@ least $3000) and most people on Facebook marketplace is looking to sublet for the whole summer. Anyone have any suggestions? I’m looking for 2 people. Studio/1 bedroom / 2 bedroom works

2023.03.29 20:57 SupaDawg Coming down for the Sharks game on Saturday
Stars fan, but coming down for the 'yotes game against the Sharks on Saturday. I have no allegiance to the Sharks, so my fiance and I will be Yotes fans for the night.
I read the sticky, but am left with some questions for tickets. Do they tend to get cheaper on gameday? Is there no secondary market on facebook marketplace in Arizona (it looks totally empty)?
I'm used to going to Flames games in Calgary, but the prices at mullet are pretty steep. Want to make sure I make the best of our vacation dollars given we're paying for a wedding in May.
Thanks all!
Looking forward to what seems like a really rad fan experience.
