VOTA REALISMO MÁGICO

Just warning you now, things are gonna get a little...speculative. I'm talking about "Charlie ranting about the mail" speculative.
Alan Wake is a really weird series. You've got the original in 2010, a short standalone adventure, a spinoff that got the series more mainstream recognition, and now finally a proper sequel to the original. Sure, you could just play the original and then the upcoming, but American Nightmare and Control (mainly AWE) add so much despite either being short, or mostly focusing on its own thing. But what do they add to Alan Wake II? And how does Saga Anderson fit into all of this?
So, let's look at American Nightmare. We know now that it was an attempt of Alan's to write his escape through an episode of Night Springs. We also know that, based on what was revealed in Control, that attempt failed. However, even experiments that fail teach you something. So, what have we learned from American Nightmare? We know Alan is stuck in the Dark Place, he's still trying to write his way out of there, he's being stalked by his evil doppelganger, and while his story has a happy ending, it's revealed in Control it didn't take. But there are two important details also hinted at in American Nightmare, and confirmed in Control:

1. Alan has some awareness of events going on in the real world, and can share some awareness.
   
2. Alan can't just write himself a simple escape.
   

Remember both of these factors, as they'll be important later.
The frame for American Nightmare is that it's an old rerun of Night Springs. Specifically an episode Alan wrote some time before the events of the first game. It's also shown that Barry had tuned into that channel before falling asleep. At the end of the game, he wakes with a start, thinking he heard Alan.
Now, the following bit is some speculation before I get into the events of AWE. So, I've had this theory for a while that those trapped in the Dark Place are able to manipulate people's dreams. This goes all the way back to the tutorial for Alan Wake, where he has a dream where Thomas Zane explains to him how to fight the Darkness. Since those using the lake's power can alter reality in its dream-like state, it stands to reason those using its power can affect dreams. While his escape attempt failed in its original goal, he did manage to breach back into reality, if only through an echo.
Now, go to Control, where we see Alan's starting to get desperate. I do NOT believe the idea that Alan created Jesse, the Hiss, and the FBC, as I feel that makes Alan too powerful. That said, he was confirmed to have affected things somewhat. Personally, I believe his abilities of shaping the real world are more that he takes existing factors and manipulates them. The Hiss invasion, coupled with Jesse's arrival at the Oldest House, were two things that could likely happen. Alan not only ensured they did happen, but that the unlikely (but feasible) possibility of those two happening simultaneously did come about. Alan didn't fully write the story of Jesse saving the Oldest House. He merely ensured she'd be in the right place at the right time, where she could become the savior herself.
Anyway, it's interesting to note that Alan wasn't writing a story where he was able to escape. No, he wrote a scenario where he could be rescued. This goes with my new working theory that Alan's new plan isn't to escape the Dark Place. He's trying to call for a rescue. He's at the point where he can't find a way to create his own way out, so he needs someone to reach in and pull him out from topside. For that, to quote Bonnie Tyler, he needs a hero.
Now, this is where Saga Anderson comes in. For whatever reason, Alan can't use the usual suspects. He doesn't want to use someone close to him like Alice or Barry, because he doesn't want to put them in harm's way when they're not really fighters. Alex Casey probably wouldn't work because, while Alan didn't create him, his shared involvement with one of his past creations makes him susceptible to manipulation from the Dark Presence. Alan needed a new player. Someone whose story hasn't been told yet.
Through his awareness of factors topside, he learns about Saga Anderson, a colleague of Casey's. She's developed a reputation for solving near-impossible cases, but has had no prior involvement with Alan or any AWE for that matter. As far as the Dark Presence goes, she's a blank slate. She's the everywoman archetype that makes her perfect to bring to Bright Falls.
TL;DR: The events of American Nightmare showed Alan he can't write his own escape, but needs to write a rescue. The events of Control showed he was able to put someone in the position of the hero of the story, and he went with Saga Anderson because she has no prior AWE involvement, but the necessary skillset to become a hero.
So, that's what I think is going on here. Apologies for the long-winded post that I sincerely hope makes some sense. I can be a bit of a rambler, and coupled with the metaphysical nature of the Remedyverse, I can get a bit...lost. Still, hope those who were able to parse through my incoherent ramblings found something interesting. I can't wait to read more about Alan Wake in the coming months.

If you want a TL;DR, we own 2 Kias and it's going disasterously.
So we just got our 2bd Kia, a 2008 Kia Sportage, back on Monday for the (we hope) final time after Friendship Kia of Beckley, WV forgot to bleed the brake lines after the replacement of our failed recall replacement HECU/ABS module. No, I didn't mistype that, we went and did the recall on the HECU/ABS module in March, like good little children, and a month later the HECU/ABS module failed. We originally towed it to our own mechanic who diagnosed it and found out the hard way that is a "dealer only part" so after a week at our mechanic we had to tow it a third time to the dealership where it arrived with 18 other tow-ins. So two weeks later, on Friday late in the day, we were finally called and told to pick up our car along with the 7 other customers that were waiting for the same service on their vehicle.
And Monday morning, Memorial Day, all 8 of us called in complaining and my partner caught the heated exchange between the service manager and the mechanic, including the lovely gem of "but the computer doesn't say to bleed the brake lines," so he did the repair, eight times, and somehow managed to miss the fact that 8 vehicles were a little dodgy on their brakes as he parked them in the parking lot for pickup.
Today I did the paper work so my partner could get reimbursed for the $1,200+ dollars all of that cost us.
Oh, but we have a second Kia, surely this allowed us to not have to rent a car, be inconvenienced, etc.
Oh you sweet summer child. Our second Kia is a 2016 Kia Soul 2.0L Nu GDI, that croaked on December 21, 2021 (yep, 2021, still in the pandemic, after the Knock Detection update recalls went out, before we knew what they were actually doing) at 105K miles that no one wants to touch it. Hence the emergency purchase of the 2008 Kia Sportage as it was truly the only vehicle we looked at in 2021 that didn't look like someone had just fished it out of a lake (remember, the car shortage).
I just sent a message to the law firm handling that case in hopes that maybe there's a way to get relief.
I'm 40, this was my first new car ever. And I am so disgusted by the whole situation I would rather never own a vehicle again. Like take my license, stick a fork in me, I'm DONE.
I'm trying to remain positive over here, and on that note, one positive thing I can say, at least I don't have to worry about it being stolen, guess that's one benefit of the engine failure.
Okay, that's all the toxic positivity I have in me. Truth told, I do worry about it because it doesn't "look" broke down and I'm afraid someone is going to bust out a window to make the attempt.
Anyone having any success out there in the midst of the lawsuits? Or is everyone feeling as violated as I am? Like, congratulations, you are a responsible vehicle owner who managed to safely drive your car out of its base warranty, you just won a giant middle finger and a the obligation to spend $10,000 on a new engine!
Kia, movement that inspires!
More like Kia, glacial movement after a lawsuit just to think about fixing the issue you already knew you had and done in a way that inspires people to need professional counseling.

I'm trying to plan a trip for next summer (2024) to glacier national park. It will be my first time there so I'm still trying to understand the best way to go about doing things and hoping to get some feedback on my ideas:
Airport: Fly into Missoula as it appears to be the only airport with direct flights from my west coast city. Rent a car and drive to the park.
Stay: considering staying in Many Glacier Hotel, Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, or Rising Sun Motor Inn or St. Mary. Open to suggestions if there's better options.
Hikes: I'd love to do the highline trail, but as I'm nervous about hiking alone (single female scared of bears), I'd like to do a guided hike (with a company like Glacier Guides or whoever people recommend), but most of the guided hikes seem to leave from the West Entrance area and drive into the park to the trailheads. If I stay in Many Glacier or St. Mary or elsewhere, it looks like it would be very inconvenient to have to drive back to the west entrance area for a 7am departure time. Does anyone know if you can meet guided hikes at the trailhead instead? (I plan to call some companies too) or are there guided hikes that meet at the trailhead that people know about? I'd prefer to stay inside the park but not sure how to make this work with guided hikes starting points. I'm also interested in an Iceberg lake guided hike or hidden lake or other scenic hikes with moderate level difficulty (not looking for hikes over 10 miles or with great elevation gain/loss).
Anyone have suggestions about where I should stay if I want to do guided hikes (or basically how I can hike in some kind of organized group for safety)?

Along my route, what’s the furthest stretch of road without gas stations? Should I be worried about my drive from Florida to El Paso or from Colorado to Florida or will there be a good supply of gas stations there?
Also, when it comes to the following parks, which ones require shuttles to get around and how do those shuttles work? I know there are some parks that have a parking lot and I believe you can walk between all of the hiking trails - correct me if I’m wrong. I’m going to:
Guadalupe mountains national park (maybe) Carlsbad caverns White sands Grand Canyon Zion Bryce Death Valley Yosemite Sequoia and kings Maybe arches national park Rocky Mountain
Do I park in certain parking lots closer to specific trails I want to hike or is there a main parking lot and shuttles to get to each area of the park? I’ve never been to a national park before so I have no idea how it works. And if something is confusing, can the rangers at the entrance stations help me with these questions?

You may be wondering how Imu could go from a small cloaked figure to a Zunesha sized cow.
Well, it's pretty simple actually.
Imu had the Gorosei ask Dr. Vegapunk to replicate Sanjuan Wolf's devil fruit. Imu can freely change between their Zunesha size and regular cow size.
Many also believe that Sabo was the main target in this attack, but I disagree.

Why? I'm glad you asked. It's because Moda had secretly been stealing Imu's precious milk and using it for her own profit. Moda had been going undercover in Mary Geoise and milked Imu in their sleep. Imu finally found out after the Reverie and wanted to get revenge on everyone who may have tasted Imu's milk. Sabo just happened to be nearby and Imu didn't want the Gorosei to know the real reason for eradicating an entire kingdom.

No experience necessary for the laborer custodial or maintenance mechanic positions. It helps on the interview but you can surely think of maintenance related experience to relay for an interview. Based on fixing things around your house, the car etc. Always mention working safely.

Pro tip: You can apply for any job that has an exam opening and the test is administered local to yourself. Make sure you're serious and score decently; you can turn down the job offer. Keep a physical copy of your exam score, I believe they are good for two years.
The reason is: These job postings can be posted externally at capacity for testing, meaning they will not allow you to take the exam if they have enough qualified applicants. However, if you have a test score on the books, you are a qualified applicant.

Explanation of MVO/TTO to save time:
MVO= CDL B Can only drive box trucks on public roads, can drive anything for moves on postal property.
TTO= CDL A Can drive anything.

USPS provides the training. (Maintenance jobs at least. TTO and management...GOOD LUCK)
