Hey everyone! Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of A/B testing or data to make a very intelligent decision, so I wanted to come here and ask you all....
How much of an impact on Conversion Rate do you expect a 30% Storewide Sale vs a 20% Storewide Sale to have?
As far as I can tell with what numbers I do have, if I went with a 30% storewide sale, I would need it to increase conversion rate by ~10%.

• Example, 3.3% vs 3%. Or 2.2% vs 2%

Do you think that is possible or likely? My products are less than $50 so the percent is not taking of large sums of money. But I feel like the psychoanalysis part of it is substantial. Thoughts? Any industry insight?

Let's explore what options Nokia has for its net cash which at the end of q1 stood at €4.3B. What options are there for Nokia's cash? Let's enumerate the main ones:

1. Higher R&D. Nokia already spends on R&D a sum that corresponds to 18% of its annual sales. This is pretty much and so far Nokia hasn't felt it wants to raise this level.
2. Acquisitions. Nokia wants to grow primarily organically, partly through partnership between Nokia and other companies. The CEO has also said smallish bolt-on acquisitions aren't off the table but so far we haven't seen any of those.
3. Dividends. They are appreciated by some investors who think "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" so that while the future may be bright, in the unlucky case that future promises prove baseless, at least something has been received all the time. In my case, the dividends I get from Nokia practically cover my living costs in Latin America where I (despite being European) live. One could always argue that for dividends (and buybacks) one could have non-growth dividend (or buyback) stocks in the portfolio and for future potential multibaggers stocks that put all their efforts into making radical commercial breakthroughs for instance through massive R&D. Perhaps Nokia is something of a hybrid and this also is confusing to investors...
4. Buybacks. If, as I see the case is with Nokia, the company is not overvalued, buying shares and deleting them is more tax-efficient to committed long-term investors than dividends are and allow a bigger compound interest effect to take place. No doubt, it's possible to criticize the small size of Nokia's buybacks. However, if buybacks are a positive phenomenon as I think they are when investment needs have been covered and when the stock isn't overvalued, then something is better than nothing. I welcome small buybacks and I would welcome bigger buybacks even more!
5. Paying debt. If a company has high-interest debt and that interest is clearly higher than inflation, then it can be a good idea to make early debt repayments. I think Nokia should have prolonged the maturity and taken cheap debt 1-2 years ago before the interest rates started rising, so here I see that Nokia perhaps did not behave entirely prudently and pays now in the form of higher average interest.
6. Sitting on cash reserves. This is costly especially when inflation is high and the return on that cash is lower than inflation. Also a high level of net cash can lead to a low level of ROE, i.e. the company is using its cash inefficiently. Partly instead of having a huge net cash, I would prefer to have to some extent unused credit lines for unexpected needs.

I think it would be interesting to hear opinions on what Nokia should do. If the conclusion is more R&D and/or acquisitions I would also like to hear in what fields of business they are needed.

How do we find out why a post was removed? I posted my spreadsheet of cards for sale and it was up for a day and then it was removed. Why? I have an interview next week for a Parts Advisor position at a Mazda dealer. I've never worked in the automotive industry, and my technical knowledge of cars is somewhat limited. I am pretty passionate about motorsports though so it's a field I am interested in.
I am currently a sales person/inventory/merchandizer at a computer hardware store. I've worked a couple other sales jobs in the past too working with Oracle based sales systems. I feel like if I can learn the inner workings of computer components, cars should be no harder.

So it looks like I'm getting a new HVAC system for Fathers Day (yay me). Gathering quotes now and doing some basic research. Realize that one choice we'll need to make is the whole 1-stage, 2-stage, or variable stage units. Pretty sure I understand the "variable speed helps keep temps constant instead of cycling on/off" sales pitch. I sorta understand the "2 stage offers cost savings over 1 stage since it doesn't run at full speed constantly."
What I'm trying to figure out, is apart from the daily comfort factors, how much dollars and cents difference we'll see in energy bills afterwards? Presuming a 15 year operating life (and thus 180 monthly energy bills over those 15 years), will my total cost of ownership (TCO) actually differ in any significant way? By TCO, I'm talking total of installation, lifetime service/maintenance, consumables like filters, etc. and monthly energy bills over the entire 15 years I'll own this HVAC unit.
