Yanyin Canon - in great condition and I believe includes all original accessories, box is worn
Penon Orb - a good friend acquired these for me and I do really like them, but I prefer the Serial and I really don't need too many IEMs
HiBy R5 OG - works beautifully and charge lasts several solid hours. Personally, I would only recommend this for local music playback--the WiFi works but it isn't as solid as some other players I've tried. If I'm trading this, it needs to be in conjunction with something else for another Android DAP with 3.5 and 4.4 out.
Denon PMA 7.5 - beautiful and organic integrated amp that puts out 45wpc, used to run the HE6. This is the US variant, not Japan, so no step down transformer needed; Has a dent on the front plate, general wear but looks good for its age, maybe 7/10
Emotiva BasX A2 Mini - little powerhouse, I just picked this up here to compare against the Denon and I'll keep whichever one no one wants. Headphone port is taped off but fully functional... it is jumpered to push full power currently

This is way more expensive than wealthy suburbs in NJ, LI, Westchester, CT, etc.
This has to be one of the most expensive zip codes in the country!

The real estate world is COMPLETELY new to me. My now husband bought the house that we currently live in, in NJ, in 2013. I moved in three years ago. I’ve always rented apartments. We plan on fixing some functionality issues and put it on the market next year.
Once in a blue moon out of curiosity, I’ll type in our address on realtor.com or Zillow, and the estimated market price will come up. We don’t plan on getting it appraised until we are ready to sell. I’m honestly surprised at the market estimate. I personally think our house is fairly unimpressive, so I cannot see the value in it.
How often do houses really sell for that estimated market price? Are those prices pretty accurate?

I made a huge, semi-rushed house purchase and am freaking out. I’m not sure if this is the right sub, but I need someone to help me logically wrap my head about the emotions I’m feeling right now.
In Jan of 2022, I (33F) decided to I wanted to move to NJ to be with my long-distance boyfriend. It was a tough decision because I owned my house in MA, had a great career, and was financially stable. However, my life overall felt stagnant and I had been wanting a change for a couple of years so I decide to make the move. I also speak to my employer and we’re able to work it out so I’m essentially remote with a few visits to the area, maintaining my same pay.
House in MA suits my needs perfectly. The kitchen was beautiful. There was intentional, well-thought out storage spaces. The bathroom, even though we only had one, was gorgeous. The neighborhood was in a great location.
We start looking at houses, I’m not in a rush. Find out in May 2022 that I’m pregnant. Panic sets in because now I want to be moved and settled before the baby arrives in Jan 2023. I was able to sell my house in MA no problem. But after putting 15+ offers in NJ, we finally got an offer accepted on a “backup” house. I was so relieved to have housing, that I didn’t even go back for a second look. Closed in Aug 2022.
I move. BF moves in. We have the baby in January. LOTS of changes and adjustments.
Fast forward to present day, and I am HUGELY regretting my decision. Not because of the move itself, but because I absolutely hate this house.
This house is larger to accommodate us, baby, and each of our pets, but since the market was so different, I feel I grossly overpaid for it. Everything that is bothering is mostly cosmetic, but it is depressing. For 330k, I wish I had spent more time looking at the house. I only did one visit because I had to travel to see it. It needs an entire kitchen upgrade (countertops, new appliances, all new cabinets, etc), half bath needs upgraded vanity, full bath could use a new shower, etc. everything is functional, but I feel like I’m living in a dump for what I paid and where I should be in my life right now. We had to upgrade the electrical upon move in because there were so many issues. We don’t use the downstairs at all (living space, half bath, third bedroom). It uses oil heat that we’ve already had to fill up the tank 4 times since we moved in! I just feel like I spent all of this money on an overpriced piece of mediocre crap.
Some people are suggesting we just sell and move to a neighboring town. I don’t know if I have the mental capacity to go through that whole process right now without the guarantee of being in a better house and a better financial situation. I do look on Zillow, but anything that we could afford right now is not any better. I know the market is different from when I bought my first home in 2018, so do I just need to accept this?
Part of the issue, is that for the cost of our house, I feel it should be nicer. If we sold, we probably wouldn’t make too much money, if any, and all of what we made would go toward a down payment and closing costs.
As for where we would move to, I have no desire to be in a specific location. I’m fine with staying in NJ (BF likes it here, lots of family), but the house itself is driving me crazy. Especially since I’m now working from home full-time and have our little one full-time.
I guess I’m looking for guidance. Is my situation as bad as I think it is? Should I tough it out for a couple of years and make slow changes as we’re able to save up money? Should I try to move now? I need some perspective.

MA house: 2b1bath colonial bought in Sept 2018 for 175k. 3.75% fixed mortgage. I refinanced in 2020 from 30 to 15 year Loved the house Sold in Aug 2022 for $240k.
NJ house: 3b1.5 bath bilevel bought in Aug 2022 for $330k. 6.75% fixed 30yr mortgage. 20% down, so mortgage was taken out at 264k. New roof and septic in 2020, we added a fence for the yard, new dishwasher, and full electrical upgrade with generator hookup. Slowly painting the rooms as well

Update: Thank you to everyone that replied! All of your perspectives were very helpful. We will plan to stay out for now while making little upgrades as we go. In a few months, when emotions are calmer, we can make a decision on the bigger renovations. We’ll never stop looking at Zillow on the side though! :)

I’m moving from TX to NJ in the next couple months for a job. I’d have to be able to commute between offices in fort lee and glen rock, so preferably somewhere between those two areas. I was wondering what areas I should look for reasonably priced housing? My Texas brain is looking at these prices and crying internally. I’ve heard Hackensack/Teaneck and Englewood are good.
Are there areas I should be avoiding? I’ve heard parts of Paterson aren’t the safest, but I know next to nothing about NJ.
Are there any tips that y’all have when it comes to finding reasonably priced apartments? Should I be using sites aside from Zillow, Trulia, apartments.com?
Also, I’ve seen a lot of cheaper rentals in “multi family homes,” any experience with those? Are they essentially duplexes (but split by floor)?

My boyfriend and I are looking to buy a home in Warren County NJ. It’s listed as 575k and has been on the market for a little over a month. The house was built in 1830 and was purchased in mid 2022 for 250k and was completely renovated. It’s about 3400 square feet and 4 beds and 3 bathrooms on 2 acres. What’s weird to us is that there were 3 different offers that were supposedly accepted and fell through before they even got to inspection. We were told they were not due to the house itself which we aren’t sure we believe. We looked at the house this past Friday and there was another open house this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Our agent told us we should offer above asking because “that’s the type of market we’re in” but we just don’t feel like the house has garnered a ton of interest given the location and price compared to the surrounding homes. Also, I know I shouldn’t focus on this, but the home only has about 70 saves on Zillow and others have in the hundreds after only a few days on the market. I feel like there’s something I’m missing.
I also am unsure how property taxes would work. I looked at the assessment and it’s all over which I also can’t make sense of (image attached). He told me that if we estimate about 7k that seems right to him for the house to only be appraised for a bit more post sale / renovations, but other homes of similar size are closer to 10-12k taxes. We don’t want to offer only to find out we expected way less in monthly tax payments. Lastly, we realized the home doesn’t have AC at all. We are willing to install that but it’s interesting they didn’t bake that into the complete remodel. Given we need to install central air on a rather larger house, we know it’ll cost quite a bit and if anything would want to offer under. We really love the house, but we aren’t quite sure what to think. Was curious what folks thought on here since we are first time homebuyers.

I’ve been renting in central NJ for years and it seems like half the listings are either off market, adverts for over priced “luxury” apartments, or just straight up scams. I’ve been using the usually suspects, apartments dot com, Zillow, Trulia, Street Easy, etc.. it’s all garbage..
Its like the only way to find anything good is to set notifications for every new listing and hope you win the lottery before your lease expires.
So I’m starting early and accepting that I may end up double renting for a month or two. Is there a better way, or is central NJ that rough?

In NJ. Town has a population of 49k. There are only 16 listings of ANY kind under $350k currently on Zillow.
We just listed our condo, which is in a development with a good reputation, for $230k. Two similar units in size and condition just closed at 215k and 216k, both above their asking price, 2 slightly larger ones recently closed at 230k and 235k. They all went under contract within 5-10 days in late Feb into mid March. There were a couple others closed in jan-march at lower prices, but they had no updates to kitchen or baths.
Do appraisers even know which units had updated kitchens etc when they are looking at comps or will they just look for the same sf etc?
There are 350 condo in our complex and only ONE other active listing which is a short sale and estate sale that needs a lot of work... It was listed 2 months ago at 199k .
Is there any chance an appraisal comes in over the 2 most recent closings (215 and 216) based on the lack of inventory in a high demand area and the spring selling season has begun?
We just listed today and have 3 showings booked starting tomorrow.
I know it's too early to worry and we may not get a high offer. I'm just really excited to finally have it listed.

I am interested in leasing an apartment and its listed on zillow as well, In the hope of being able to avoid the broker fee, I found out the details of the landlord and reached out to him, only to be told that if he works with me directly, even then the fee has to be paid by him to the agent as he has signed a contract with the agent, is that true ? and if it is true , is there a way out of it ? the said property is located in Jersey City, NJ
