2023.06.01 16:36 ohwowverycool69 Might see Dead & Co at Hollywood Casino. Never been to the area. Need advice for where to get a hotel for proximity to the concert and to go sight seeing in St. Louis.
As the title states I plan to go see Dead & Co at Hollywood Casino on June 7th. I'm scanning the map of hotels in the area and I see there are plenty of hotels at reasonable rates in St. Charles by I-70/Missouri River and some off I-270 near Maryland Heights. I had a few questions regarding the area:
1) Are these hotels close enough for me to get to Hollywood Casino with a reasonable Uber cost?
2) Does Hollywood Casino have a lot of parking for bigger shows? Is it a massive headache trying to leave a show?
3) I can look at a map, but not really have a grasp for how bad the commute is if I were to go to downtown St. Louis. If I had a hotel in this area would I be able to St. Louis easy/hit the tourist spots?
4) I might spend the Thursday poking around St. Louis. If you had a morning/afternoon to explore what would you recommend to a tourist from MN?

2023.06.01 16:36 cantthinkofaname1010 Balance changes that would affect various metas
-A Pokemon with the Sand Stream ability are immune to sandstorm damage.
-Weather turns are reset upon use of a weather changing move or switch in from a Pokemon with a weather changing ability, even if the weather isn't being changed.
-Good As Gold does not block the hazard removing effect of Defog.
-Mechanics like Mega Evolution, Terastalizing and Dynamax can be activated while switching in and switching out; When switching in, abilities that a Pokemon possesses before Mega Evolution such as Intimidate do not activate; Mega Evolution while switching in is functionally identical to Primal Reversion[Option is not available when sending said Pokemon out after a teammate was KO'd]
-Taunt wears off mid-turn like confusion; Taunt wears off when the Pokemon attempts to use a move on the next turn after the 3rd/4th turn of being in the taunted state, not at the end of the 3rd/4th turn[Prevents infinite taunt traps]; If you pick a status move while taunted, the Pokemon will randomly select an attacking move instead if it has one; Encore follows the same mechanics.
-Last Respects caps at 200 BP.
-Rage Fist caps at 200 BP.
-The boost that Terastalizing gives to STAB moves is reduced to 20%.
-A Pokemon that is hit by an attack while asleep has a 50% chance of waking up that turn; This effect doesn't apply to Dream Eater.
-Rest puts your Pokemon to sleep even at full HP.
-Pursuit is reduced to 8 PP.
-Rocky Helmet damage is reduced to 12.5%.
-Defog clears hazards even if no opposing Pokemon are on the field.
-Rapid Spin clears hazards even if the user faints due to damage from contact abilities and items; it also clears hazards even if the move itself cannot hit the enemy.
-Gravity boosts the power of weight based moves and removes priority from positive priority attacks.
-Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Hydro Cannon, Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, Roar of Time, Meteor Assault, Eternabeam, Prismatic Laser & Rock Wrecker make the user go last on the next turn instead of making them not move at all; Switching is also negated on the following turn; Description: The user attacks by XXX and moves slowly on the next turn, which also prevents it from switching out.
-Psyshock is reduced to 70 BP.
-Heatproof has the additional effect of preventing burns.
-Sacred Sword is reduced to 70 base power.
-Keen Eye allows the user to bypass substitute.
-Fissure, Guillotine & Horn Drill are 20% accurate if not used by Pokemon of the same type.
-Dragon Tail & Circle Throw instantly destroys a substitute; HP lost when creating a substitute is also rounded up.
-Baton Pass does not pass on Ingrain
-Knock Off is reduced to 50 Base Power; If a Pokemon with the Sticky Hold ability is hit by Knock Off while holding an item, the power of Knock Off is not boosted.
-Pokemon with the Pickup ability remove hazards from the field upon entry.
-Truant only activates if the last move was successfully executed[Prevents cheese via protect]
-Bad Dreams damage is reduced to 6.25% of a sleeping Pokemon's HP every turn.
-Morning Sun, Moonlight & Synthesis restore 33% HP during Sandstorm, Hail & Rain.
-Behemoth Bash uses the Defense stat in damage calculation instead of the Attack stat; Dauntless Shield increases both Defense & Special Defense by 1 stage; Intrepid Sword raises both Attack & Special Attack by 1 stage.
-Volt Switch, Flip Turn & U-Turn have their PP reduced to 16 and their power is reduced to 15.
-Emergency Exit activates at the end of the turn.
-Berserk always activates if a Pokemon's health drops below 50% for any reason.
-Dark Type Pokemon are immune to Dark Void & Hypnosis; Psychic Type Pokemon are immune to Hypnosis.
-Water Compaction provides immunity to Water type moves.
-Defeatist activates at 30%.
-In Singles, if a Pokemon on your team has just fainted, a Pokemon with the Power of Alchemy ability copies the fainted Pokemon's ability if sent out directly afterwards.
-Slow Start lasts for 3 turns; Being hit by an attack incites the user and makes Slow Start wear off immediately.
-Illuminate reduces the accuracy of opposing Pokemon by 25%, but causes enemies to target this Pokemon exclusively.
-Run Away allows Pokemon to switch out against trapping moves and abilities.
-Poison Heal heals 1/16 HP each turn instead of 1/8th.
-Gale Wings gives +1 priority to Flying type moves as long as the user is above 75% HP.
-Life Orb takes 10% of a Pokemon's health upon usage of any successfully executed move including status moves; Life Orb damage is also rounded up.
-Arena Trap & Shadow Tag only trap opposing Pokemon for 2 turns.
-Last Respects, Rage Fist, Precipice Blades, Origin Pulse, Tail Glow, Attract, Substitute, Taunt, Swagger, Cotton Guard, Quiver Dance, Yawn, Hypnosis, Dark Void, Sing, Lovely Kiss, Shell Smash, Stored Power, Power Trip, Spore & Sleep Powder have their PP reduced to 8.
-Stats drops decrease the Base Power of Stored Power.
-Stealth Rocks damage is reduced to 4% damage per switch-in for neutral targets, 8% for 2x weak targets and 16% for 4x weak targets; The damage is 2% for 2x resistance and 1% for 4x resistance.
-1 layer of spikes reduces health by 4%, 2 layers take 8% and 3 take 12%.
-Leech Seed only drains 10% of the targets HP per turn.
-Frozen Pokemon have a 30% chance of thawing. Any Fire type move used by a Frozen Pokemon will thaw it. Harsh Sunlight will thaw frozen Pokemon.
-The chance to not move while Paralyzed is reduced to 10%.
-Toxic does not always hit when used by Poison type Pokemon; Toxic poisoning doesn't increase in damage after the 6th turn, capping it at 37.5% damage.
-Core Enforcer suppresses the targets ability regardless of the user moving last.

2023.06.01 16:35 longviddd Road rash infection question
I crashed about 3 days ago and after I crashed there were debris and dirt in the wound at the knee area. I immediately went home and cleaned the spot with water and soap and antibiotic ointment. After that, I put on hydrocolloid bandage. The cut was kinda deep but does not seem like it needs stitching. I am now wondering if my wound is infected. It's still discharging a kinda clear orange liquid and it still hurts consistently. My question is if the wound is infected. Any advice is appreciated.

2023.06.01 16:35 AlumTrail_Ales Yeast Starter Method, No Chill Method
Sharing for reference, hopefully someone finds useful. Inspired mostly by Brulosophy, I have started cutting many corners with a lot of success. Below is my process for making a yeast starter: 1. Normal brew day- mash, boil, hops, etc 2. While mashing, prep 0.5L of tap water by boiling and then cooling 3. Pull 0.5L wort sample from brew kettle 4. Combine both 0.5L samples for 1L of half-strength wort for yeast starter (yes it has some hop oil) 5. Add yeast to starter. Normally about 1.025-1.045 gravity. I use a 1 gallon growler with a screw-on airlock. 6. Allow ~24hrs for yeast to propagate while doing the normal stir-as-you-go-into-the-kitchen technique. Flask and stir plate if you're rich/fancy. Remaining 5 gallons of wort should reach pitching temp in ~24hrs.
I have only used Lutra Kveik (Omega, dried) so far, but imagine others would work well, too. Wanted to trial with something much more hardy.

2023.06.01 16:34 tamaleA19 Help with newly transplanted apple tree
I noticed brown spots on the leaves of an apple tree I transplanted about a week ago. They were not there when I bought it. Any ideas what’s causing it? This is my first time transplanting a tree so this is all new to me and I’m not sure if I should worry or do anything or just keep watering and let it settle in

2023.06.01 16:34 Sarah-Myriam Fungal acne safe Spf!
Hey guys I'm looking for a fungal acne safe facial sunscreen that's also water resistant, I'm a skincare freak and I feel I have watched every single video and went onto every single websites and still I have not found an spf for the warmer months. Currently I'm using the Sunplay spf 50 from Stylevena but it's only 30 mg a bottle and even if the bottle is 8$ or so I have to pay for shipping and wait over a month for my order. I use the Drmtlgy physical spf in colder months but i find it's not lightweight enough for the summer. (Tho i will try it out on my skin tommorrow to see how my face feels) Give me you guys favorites thank you!

2023.06.01 16:33 JustAnSenileSquid This show really reveals a lot
2023.06.01 16:33 kevin_k Barcelona / eastern Pyrenees / SE France
I've been on some (8-10) organized tours in Europe with Edelweiss. Mostly Alps (because even though I've seen them, there's always a new person in the group who hasn't) but also Pyrenees and SW Spain.
My buddy's wife had a business trip in Barcelona. I've been there and loved it so took him up on his suggestion to go to Barcelona for a few days and then a few more a little NE, near Girona. We did day trips out of both places.
All the bike rental places seem to be in the city. I got mine from Hertz and could not be happier with the service or the bike (Multistrada V4s). Barcelona is a really fun city but it's a PITA to get in and out of for those day rides. Once you do, though, the fun roads are pretty close.
Anyone going near the Costa Brava with a motorcycle should not miss the coastal road between Tossa de Mar and St Feliu de Guixois. The curves are great, the road's in great shape, and it's mostly cut into a mountain on one side with the sea on the other. The biggest risk is not being able to look away from the view :)
Starting from a hotel outside the city (as mentioned, we were near Girona, about 1.5 hr from Barcelona but I expect anywhere in that area of Catalan would be similar) there isn't the city traffic to fight to get in or out, and there are lots of choices for curvy routes. One day we started going NE to the mountainy peninsula that includes Cadaques. Great views, great roads. We continued along the coast as far as Banyuls-sur-Mer and then took a really cool, narrow road through mountains and vineyards to head back inland:
https://www.google.com/maps/@42.496327,3.0771496,3a,75y,17.6h,88.23t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sb-MTHHQI8JCWLJoNwVf6lQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!5m1!1e4?entry=ttu Our route back to the hotel was a little to the west and not as mountainous or curvy but still a good ride.
Getting back to Barcelona to return the bikes and head home I used a route from Kurviger that was great.
https://www.google.com/maps/d1/viewer?ll=41.68843538291421%2C2.401040321954877&z=11&mid=16pe7stJtzQBBfKdACOTXu4uTroWk9pk A great day of riding. Lots of curves, changes in elevation, little roads, one three-mile bit where calling it "paved" might be a stretch.
One revelation: Being based in eastern US, I always hear about the Tail of the Dragon, and sure, I've ridden it a few times. But I always think two things in response - first, that yeah, ToD is great but Alps! Stelvio! , and also that, more locally, there are longer, less-congested stretches that are so much more enjoyable. Cherohala Skyway, for example. And dozens of roads between ToD and Georgia, most pretty well documented.
But back to the Alps. I love 'em, and yes, there are many more mountains there than in NE Spain. The Alps are higher and the passes are much more dramatic. So much so that if you travel in May or October, they may be closed. And in those summer months, many of them will be clogged up with tour buses.
In the few days of riding in NE Spain and SW France, we got stuck behind maybe eight cars (that we ended up passing). That can be an hour in the Alps in June. That's what I mean - they can get like ToD or Skyline Drive: too popular.
I will always be on board to tag along with a friend who hasn't ridden in the Alps. And the people, food, etc. - all great. But when it's just me, or with others who have already experienced the Alps, I'm going to be more open to looking a little to the west (like this time) or maybe a little farther west (around Santander) or SW (btw Malaga and Seville). Or East - I hear Croatia/Bosnia/Montenegro is great riding too. I know I'm leaving a bunch out. That's the point - there's an almost endless supply of great roads and a lack of traffic/congestion can mean a lot.
This ended up sorta rambling. Any corrections or additions or suggestions (or questions!) are welcome.

2023.06.01 16:33 Echopine After almost a decade, I finally cured my sleep-disordered breathing.
Sorry this is SUPER SUPER long, I need to write this out as a form of cathartic release and don't necessarily expect anyone to read it. I originally posted this in the UARS sub but my experience might help someone here too. There's a TLDR at the end which says what I did to fix it.It's been a long and miserable ride but I'm writing this to let anyone who is suffering know that it can get better. It takes a buttload of perseverance which is difficult when you're chronically exhausted but there isn't really much of a choice for any of us in that regard is there? I'm now 27 and I'm bitter and angry at how this shit ruined my life but I made it through so w/e. Just to preface, I'm well aware what worked for me won't work for most. This is more about providing closure for myself than anything. I'd also like to state this experience has entirely changed my opinion of doctors. Hear what they have to say and work with them, but you need to learn everything you can to help yourself and absolutely challenge them on anything they say that doesn't feel right/you don't understand. If they react with patronizing hostility, then find someone else. Listen to what your body is telling you and recognise that your intuition is valid and important. Sure, you'll get it wrong a lot but you get better at figuring out what works the longer you work at it.
So this is what happened to me:
Just after I graduated uni I started feeling extremely tired all the time, no matter how much sleep I got. It's a special kind of tired I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with. One that feels like you've been drinking heavily after running a marathon. Weeks/months pass and that exhaustion compounds. The first two years were terrifying and I had fully accepted my life was over. Doctors couldn't find anything wrong with me and I was accused many, many times of lying or that I was just severely depressed. I was severely depressed but it was because chronic sleep deprivation is a mental prison. I went down the psychiatry route though and was on literally everything at one point or another, from Seroquel which left me drooling in a chair for a week to brintellix, which I equate to panic attacks in pill form. I also got a healthy xanax addiction from my psych who said there was no withdrawal. The fact he had a picture of Kurt Cobain on his desk should have been a red flag I guess. Granted, mirtazapine allowed me to keep my head above water but I got super fat, and only now that I've recently come off I realized it affected my cognitive ability greatly. I knew, even then, the root cause of my depression was sleep deprivation and I think it's important to note for anyone going through this now that no amount of antidepressant (even if it 'helps you sleep') is going to fix sleep-disordered breathing. This type of medication has its place and I'm not discouraging anyone from trying it but the previous point is important.
After barking up the wrong tree many times (psychiatrists, endocrinologists, neurologists, etc). I finally found an ENT surgeon. This was about 4 years in and by that point, I had little faith they'd be able to do anything. After an at-home sleep study and examination, the surgeon was extremely confident it was UARS. So for the first time in years, I had a glimmer of hope and booked myself in for a very expensive septoplasty, adenoid removal, and turbinate reduction op. At the same time, he referred me to an orthodontist who made a mandibular device to keep my airway open at night (also very expensive). Fast forward a month and I'm all healed but I still feel terrible. The mandibular device was worthless as well (in my case). The surgeon hands me a card for a counselor. Great.
So then I move on to CPAP as I now know through the sleep study I did I'm waking up multiple times a night due to increased respiratory effort. After a lot of trial and error, I'd say it brought me from feeling like shit to feeling meh most days. Meh was an incredible improvement, however, and I was very grateful. I lived like this for a long time. Things were good enough for me to work but only in the most basic roles. Pretty soul-crushing really considering I aced school in the hopes of becoming a marine biologist.
Last year I read somewhere that taking antihistamines (claritin) right before bed helped their UARS. The source was sketchy AF and I didn't really put much stock in it but I was willing to give anything a fair chance. And it worked. Uninterrupted, beautiful sleep for a few months. It really is quite incredible just how different I am as a person when I'm well-rested. Literally every aspect of my well-being improved. I was happy but also horrified at how long I'd lived in the braindead state UARS creates. 7 years is a long time to feel that way and it's left its mark.
The antihistamines of course stopped working. I tried many different types but none of them worked as well as Claritin did. This did however provide a key piece of information that would ultimately be the last piece of the puzzle. If I reacted so well to taking antihistamines before bed then allergies had a role to play in my breathing at night. Allergies to what though? I wasn't sneezing and I didn't have itchy eyes. Turns out a dust mite allergy doesn't present that way in everyone. I've lived with my grandparents (not because I want to believe me) almost all the way through this and the carpets haven't been changed in 30 years. I've also noticed my sleep would weirdly improve if I stayed in other places. I sleep pretty deeply in hotels for example. I was in a rainforest in Malaysia for a few days a while back and forgot my CPAP and slept phenomenally. Whether that means I truly have UARS or not I'm not sure. I still sleep with it as I haven't been able to recreate that anywhere else. What it does say is that it is subtle rhinitis brought on by a dust mite allergy that triggers my SDB and creates UARS-like symptoms. I'm now having the carpets replaced with hardwood floors, using mattress/pillow covers, and using Flonase every night. Breathe Right strips have also been an absolute game changer in conjunction with CPAP. Using them in concert has made me realize just how limited my nasal breathing really is, even after surgery. If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend giving it a shot. While I'm waiting for the floor to be replaced, I have the air intake of my CPAP placed directly by an open window which also has been working great. That's only a solution for summer though really.
And that's it. I sleep well almost every night now. The relief I feel both physically and mentally is immense but as I've said, this destroyed my life and fundamentally changed me as a person. I'd like to try and see the silver lining but it's given me so much baggage I don't really know where to start. I go to bed scared it'll come back every single night. Even the slightest hint of tiredness makes me paranoid. That's what therapy is for I guess. If you're reading this, I hope it helps you in some way. Shit sucks and I hope you find relief quicker than I did.
TLDR: FUCK UARS and I'm sorry for anyone who is dealing with sleep-disordered breathing. I'm cured and it was a combination of septoplasty, adenoid removal, turbinate reduction, CPAP, and finally an awareness of my dust mite allergy and the relentless use of breathe right strips and flonase.

2023.06.01 16:33 functor7 On the intersection of Pride and Math.
It is the beginning of Pride Month, and this year we're seeing a lot of organizations which have taken advantage of the post-Obergefell sentiments towards the LGBT community by throwing up some rainbow pfps distancing themselves in light of rising anti-LGBT sentiment and terrorist threats. These organizations didn't stand up for the LGBT community when it mattered, and they will reproduce this pattern now. Some may not know this, but the math community has - in the past - taken an active stance to stand up for its queer members and taken political action when it has mattered. That is, the intersection of LGBTQ+ history and Math history is not empty and not even measure zero.
The 80s were, to say the least, a very hard time for the LGBTQ+ community due to the AIDS epidemic and the complete lack of response from those in power about it. The medical community was slow to get research rolling and did not initially communicate with the gay community which made accessing proper medical care and information difficult. The Reagan Administration didn't even acknowledge the existence of AIDS for years, let alone invest resources into the development of treatments. The iconic
Silence = Death poster is in response to the lack of action and acknowledgement for AIDS. Gay people were demonized and ostracized and the disease was seen as merely the "natural" consequence of their "delinquent" lifestyle. And arriving immediately after the religiously motivated
Save Our Children homophobic activist campaign, AIDS was seen as a correction for moral degeneracy (weird how kids are consistently used to justify hate, almost like we could learn from the past...). By the early 90s, people had begun to take it seriously, but there was still a long way to go before people recognized the gay community as a community in need and struggling with a horrific disease. This is why pictures like that of
Princess Diana showing compassion and touching someone struggling with AIDS is so iconic and important.
Point being, in the early 90s the LGBTQ+ community was struggling, not viewed with favor by the public, and finding themselves alone without any meaningful institutional support.
In 1992, Colorado voted on and passed an amendment to the state constitution which said that being queer was not a protected status. This meant that things like discrimination against LGBTQ+ people was totally fine and that violence against them would not be considered a hate crime. This was in response to many cities, such as Boulder and Denver passing laws in the 70s and 80s protecting LGBTQ+ people and functioned to strip away these rights. Coincidentally, the 1995 Joint Math Meetings were planned to take place in Denver. This would mean that mathematicians from around the nation (and world) - many of which are queer - would be congregating in a place that was actively unsafe for them. I think that the tragedy of Alan Turing should resonate strongly within the math community of what happens when we don't support those who are marginalized.
In response, two mathematicians - one gay and one just a real good ally - independently wrote and petitioned the heads of the MAA and AMS to move the JMM to a state which could protect vulnerable members of its community. This would not be an insignificant, easy, or cheap act. There would be backlash by those within the community who were less-than-understanding. Contracts and reservations are done years in advance with hotels and conventions spaces which the JMM would have to pay for breaking. And finding a new space and new bookings on a shorter timeframe would not be easy while all this was going on. That is, it would be not an insignificant cost to the AMS and MAA to move the meetings.
But the heads of both organizations met and agreed to move the 1995 JMM to San Francisco - a pointed decision given the LGBTQ+ have San Francisco had consistently been and its history with Harvey Milk. This move ended up being a part of a larger dis-investment of organizations from Colorado. The state was branded "The Hate State" - a moniker we could probably bring back these days. Eventually appeals took this amendment to the Supreme Court which overruled it. Moreover the AMS and MAA have both made commitments to protecting vulnerable members of the math community as they now always have a "Change of Civil Rights Legislation Clause" in the contracts that they make for the JMM. As of now, the future JMM meetings appear to all take place in safe states.
When people say that math is not political, that identity doesn't matter, that it's all objective and just about proofs, or that we don't need to do work to resist the systemic injustices that infect all groups of people - including the math community - it's just clear that they are ignorant of their own privilege and ignorant of the history of math. Probably most prominently historically, the math community has struggled with antisemitism and has taken actions to both help and harm Jewish members of the community. The members of the AMS and MAA in the 90s knew the importance of taking risks to protect vulnerable members of its community and opening up mathematical spaces to them, and that mathematics is a political field and sometimes politicized statements are needed. And their action was not without internal backlash, the MAA even
published dissenting letters which sound like they could have been written today (just replace "political correctness" with "woke").
The appropriately named mathematical LGBTQ+ organization
Spectra came out of this action and provides a place for queer mathematicians to find community. They also do what they can to continue the work begun in the 90s. You can read more about this story and the founding of Spectra in
this MAA article. The math community itself
still has issues that it needs to work through regarding almost all marginalized groups and closing our eyes so that we blind ourselves to them under the illusion of "pure objectivity" is not the move. In general, mathematicians can take pride during Pride Month that - even if it still has major issues and work to do - that the mathematics community has it within them to take risks and act.

2023.06.01 16:32 dandles retin-a micro vs aklief?
after almost 3 years on retin-a micro gel (.08%) i asked my derm for a less drying formula. my acne has cleared up, but the micro gel is still so drying that i can only apply it on top of my moisturizer or else i will peel. doc said the micro gel is for people with oily skin. i didn’t realize this and not sure why it was prescribed to me. (i am not oily)
doc has now recommended Aklief. i worry about the price (i think it’ll be more $ than my current) and also wonder why he didn’t just suggest the retin-a cream. i’m getting Aklief samples next week
i am 32 and have dry skin. i also definitely still have fine lines.
QUESTION: has anyone ever switched between micro and Aklief, and can anyone using Aklief speak to their experience?
or, does anyone with dry skin have a rx formula they love?
FWIW, my routine:
AM: - water rinse - Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream - elta md tinted hydrating sunscreen (on weekends) - makeup on weekdays. i use IT CC cream with spf. i work indoors
PM: - hada labo oil cleanser - la roche posay gentle hydrating cleanser - cerave skin renewing night cream (no actives)
please also note, i’ve tried serums (snail mucin from cosrx, vichy, drunk elephant) and the more i add to my routine, i almost always get congestion.

2023.06.01 16:32 Doralingus5000 Forest River Salem Cruise Lite
Hello, my wife and I are seeking some advice on a few problems we have found with our newly purchased travel trailer. We bought it brand new in April, and have taken it on 4 trips. This past weekend we took it camping at a KOA in the Outer Banks, and it absolutely poured the rain. Up until this trip, we hadn’t ran into any issues. Unfortunately this is where things started to break. My front window beside the master bed poured water inside the camper as it rained. We tried to absorb as much as we could, but I am worried it leaked around the sill and caused damage that I cannot see. Our two bottom microwave mounting screws came loose and it appears that our microwave is about to fall out of the cabinet. One of the walls for our couch, and our dinette have come loose. (I’m guessing because it’s just cheap wood screwed together) This is my first time dealing with any issues as this is the first large trailer I gave ever owned. I have an appointment Monday to have warranty work done. Does anyone have any tips or insight to make sure everything gets fixed properly? We have pictures and provided evidence for everything that has broken. Also any insight on how to prevent common problems would be greatly appreciated! submitted by Doralingus5000 to GoRVing [link] [comments]
2023.06.01 16:31 OrganizationFickle Accidental damage in hotel abroad & forced to sign a document in German
In short, a bit of damage was caused to a lift in a hotel from where a knife fell into the door sill as it fell off my plate when I was taking breakfast up to my room, resulting in a little bit of damage to the lift door because it closed when the knife was in there and them having to call someone out to sort the issue out.
Three of them surrounded me when they saw me, and I was told to go get my passport and they had the biggest, burliest man come with me to make sure I did.
They told me I had to pay, and they had filled in a document which stated the accidental damage and my details on it which they basically just handed me a pen and shoved the piece of paper in front of me whilst I was surrounded. I think it was an admission of liability that I was forced to sign, which was all in German, which they have not given me a copy of so I can't know for sure. It all happened very quickly and I was quite frightened which is why I signed.
As far as I am aware, they do not have bank/card details on file as I booked through a third party. I do have insurance through my bank and it's with AXA but I think I am screwed with that because I signed the document.
My understanding is that if they want to pursue anything, they will have to come through the English courts as we are no longer part of the EU. But I really feel this was signed under duress because of the way it went down, I wasn't given the chance to translate the document.
Am I screwed?

2023.06.01 16:31 AVLPedalPunk Update: It's working, F***ing finally
Hi guys. I just got up to 1.0 and I'm finally losing. Holy heck. I started at 265 and I'm down to 249. I dropped 5 lbs the first week and plateaued until this week. Stay the course my guys & gals & pals. Also I switched from Canadian stuff to Henry meds which allows you to split the dosage up. It works better for me giving myself half on Sunday and half on Thursday to get through the weekend. Movement and water have been helpful too, but I'm attached to a desk and a fulltime single parent so movement is hard to come by aside from a lunch time dog walk. Also Minimalist phone app for android has helped me block my reddit usage so that I focus on stuff that's important.
Anyway today has been great.

2023.06.01 16:31 CorruptPond Is my mead infected?
Hey everyone. I've just recently started getting into brewing, and a few weeks ago I put together my very first few batches of mead. I'm making 3 one gallon batches using 3 lbs of honey per gallon jug, water, black tea, and yeast nutrient. All three had a starting gravity of around 1.120. Just a few days ago, my meads hit the 3 week mark of primary fermentation and built up around half an inch of sediment. I thought I would rack them for the first time into clean jugs (everything sanitized of course, all tools, jugs, etc etc.) using an auto siphon. It went well except there was a little mead at the end and I tried to pump the auto siphon to get that last bit into the new jugs, but unfortunately I accidentally pumped a bit of oxygen into my mead. I stopped immediately. Other than that, everything went well, all my meads now had a gravity around 1.020-1.000. 2 of my meads I added berries to when I racked them, 1 I wanted to keep traditional. So I go downstairs to swirl my 2 meads with the berries and on my traditional I notice some white things on the surface. On one hand it looks like bubbles, on the other hand it could be something else. So I would love a second opinion from the folks on here. tl;dr - What is this white stuff on the surface of my mead? https://preview.redd.it/zjpnyh183f3b1.jpg?width=810&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4537a131c5bfb51f6645b7835d31c5e709a13e0f https://preview.redd.it/lw1etj183f3b1.jpg?width=810&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f81f5a1c6faaaab4fbd6e61743930fe15ef2a05 https://preview.redd.it/80yw9p183f3b1.jpg?width=810&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48ea5922e74a457490fc45bef804f1c6163ca507 submitted by CorruptPond to mead [link] [comments]

2023.06.01 16:30 Echopine After almost a decade, I'm finally cured.
Sorry this is SUPER SUPER long, I need to write this out as a form of cathartic release and don't necessarily expect anyone to read it. There's a TLDR at the end which says what I did to fix it.
It's been a long and miserable ride but I'm writing this to let anyone who is suffering know that it can get better.
So this is what happened to me: Just after I graduated uni I started feeling extremely tired all the time, no matter how much sleep I got.

2023.06.01 16:30 ApprehensiveCut2058 How long do I keep watering newly seeded clover?
Just recently I finished ripping out the grass turf on a good part of my front lawn. I spread clover and wildflower seeds, then put straw on top. So far, I'm watering with sprinklers once a day. I know the clover needs time to get established, but I'm wondering how long I need to keep watering. I'm in zone 6B, and we are starting to push highs of 90, so I won't want the seedlings go dry out before they can get fully established. submitted by ApprehensiveCut2058 to NoLawns [link] [comments]

2023.06.01 16:29 Brian71mm Whats up with the goons?
So on lighthouse as a scav you can walk up to the goons in water treatment, wave and shout at them and they won't shoot you until you annoy or piss them off. However when they spawn at the resort their ai instantly aggros on you even if you sre behind bushes and haven't aimed at them or anything like that. Whats the deal with this? Let alone while I've shot them at water treatment I've had them yell at me that they are the good guys. I think fucking not. I've literally had them shoot me from resort while I was on the highway.
