I'm finally leaving my roommate and this GF that moved in

2023.06.01 18:46 Kazetokage I'm finally leaving my roommate and this GF that moved in

Some back story,
Me and my roommate were quick friends in college, liked similar things, were in similar places in life. Turned out that both of us needed a place to live since we wanted out of our parent's houses, and just made sense to find an apartment together. Split the rent, the extra expenses, etc.
Fast forward a few years, I'm making my living, saving what money I can, doing the cooking, cleaning, rent payments. Roommate comes home and gives the news that he knocked up his girlfriend.
His plan to help her out as much as possible is to move her into our apartment, while she gives news to husband about her pregnancy. Oh yeah, she's married, and this isn't the first time my roommate has gotten into hot water with being a home-wrecker. At least one other time needs been caught before.
Me getting this information, the plan was just that we'll hold her stuff while my roommate and his GF find another place to live. I'll fully take over the place; I have income to spare to afford it all. Ok, everything will be alright. Not my first plan with all this going down, but I'll live. I'll take over the apartment, have my own mini castle, live my life.
She moved in, everything's going ok, we're all getting along.
Until 2 months ago, I'm told by both of them: "We don't want to move since this place has the cheapest rent overall, she has vertigo and can't go past the second floor, and it's too much pressure to look around for other places to live, and-"
Ok, worst case scenario has occurred. I'm being forced out of the home that I set up, that I would take over.
Now after getting a helping hand from my parents, today will be my last day in that apartment. I've confirmed it with the office, everything is in the roommate's name there now. Everything that I bought for that place, will be taken with me until I can afford my new "castle". I'm finally able to say goodbye to a place surrounded by other people's stuff, to the carpet that they refused to help clean, to the dirty dishes left in the sink, to the disorder and disorganization that's plagued me for months.
It's been a time, old friend. I hope you learn how to adult really fast when you have <20% of what you had a week ago and hundreds of percent more responsibility. Someone had to show you tough love, and I'm sorry it was me. Good luck, for you and the kid's future.
TLDR: I'm moving out of an apartment I'd helped set up for me and a roommate, leaving less than 20%, since I owned almost everything, after he continued to not assist in basic upkeep for years and after he moved his GF in with all her stuff after he home-wrecked.

2023.06.01 18:43 marlayna67 My breakup with airbnb

You may have seen my posting about a third-party employee booking who ruined our sheets and house by not taking off their construction work clothing before getting into bed, sitting on our couches, walking on our carpeting, etc.
Due to the help of someone in the group, I was able to use the proper wording and get the guests retaliatory review removed from my account after about 30 emails, mind you.
However, this is the part I want to warn hosts about, I was only able to get $160 from Airbnb cover out of the $500 plus cost replacing three sets of sheets. I was not reimbursed for any of the extra cleaning, my cleaner’s drive to the dump, Etc.
In total, I was out 1100 bucks. Now that I know Airbnb does not have my back and after making me jump through laborious hoops, they claimed that all of the photographs were of one sheet set and sadly I couldn’t prove any different. They did not take my Cleaner’s invoice as proof because she is not a company and doesn’t have letterhead. I thought they were joking about providing the cost of cleaning materials, such as oxy, clean to get reimbursed. They were not.
TLDR: Make sure your cleaners take forensic detective style photographs. If our cleaner had photographed the sheets on the bed instead of after trying to clean them and not being able to, we may have been reimbursed properly.

2023.06.01 18:38 sks456 How do I communicate to my (33f) partner (34m) of my current struggles with anxiety, grief and uncertainty?

Hi friends, Looking for some advice on just how to move forward and manage recently. The start of this year has been incredibly difficult with the passing of my grandmother, who was like a mother to me. About a month later, I was laid off and while I’m grateful to have some money as a cushion for a few months, I’ve been unmotivated and overcome with anxiety and sadness.
My ex and I recently reconnected, and he’s been my rock throughout my grandmothers health decline, and death. We decided to give things another try, and things were great for about a month until I got laid off. From that point on, we’ve spiraled into the same cycle of arguments and experiencing highs and lows every day. I use to cry more often than not when we were previously dating, and now I find myself doing the same thing. I truly love him with all my heart, and want to be with him for the long run, but I’m feeling as though I am spiraling into a major depression and bringing up issues that have and are still continuing to bother me in an attempt to get some understanding and closure, but it’s only making things worse- and making our fights heavier. I’ve expressed to him my insecurities and need for reassurance, and he says he understands, but he feels I’m labeling him as a lying cheater, when in reality, I’m only asking questions to hear his response. I know he’s a loyal and caring guy, but it’s becoming so difficult and heavy.
My unhealed insecurities with him stem from how our relationship started: - His uncertainty about wanting to be in a relationship with me. - Questioning his secret calls with a "friend" who i later found out was someone he dated after piecing two and two together from our conversations - Being on a date with me and seeing him texting another girl (when I asked he told me she was someone from a dating app he wasn’t interested in and only saw as a friend) - Explicitly telling me I was the only person he was talking to while away on vacation, only to find out later he was sending the same vacation pictures and having flirtatious conversations with “said friend from the dating app” - entertaining someone on social media and when I questioned him about it, he said it was wrong, he felt neglected and cut the conversation off. ( Recently I found out he ended up sleeping with her during our breakup)
It breaks my heart because I would’ve been really understanding of all these things had he been honest and upfront from the beginning. I don’t think I ever properly was able to move past it because we continued to have problems and trust issues mounting on top of one another.
I am not perfect, and I did shatter his trust. I had a friend of decades that moved away, got married and had a baby. In all the years we knew each other, nothing ever happened between us, but there was some tension, that we never acted on throughout my 20’s He always had a girlfriend, and I was always dating other people. Eventually with time, we only reach out if he’s visiting our mutual friend in town, or for birthdays. My boyfriend went though my phone and found messages predating him, where I was talking to my girlfriends about him, and one during our relationship where I said “It’s no secret I use to be in love with him… etc” He felt I betrayed his trust by telling him it was just a friend (and not someone I had feelings for at some point) and it was ultimately the reason we broke up because he asked me to chose between him & my friend and I couldn’t understand why I would be asked to chose if he was not even someone relevant in my life. I should’ve managed differently, but I know a part of me was defiant to his request because of how he made me feel throughout the relationship. I felt he loved me, but wasn’t choosing me.
Flash forward to present day, trying to rebuild our relationship and give it another chance feels so fucking draining. I don’t know if it’s because of everything I’m currently going through and my hyper sensitivity to nearly everything he does, my lack of healing from the past coming back, being in just such a place of uncertainty right now, it’s making me feel absolutely miserable, crippled by anxiety constantly and just so much pain. We had a painful conversation earlier this week- one that lasted nearly 7 hours, where I brought up my insecurities and difficulty managing. I know I shouldn’t be concerned with what he did in the year apart we had, but I had questions, because of certain things he told me ( such as casually mentioning someone he dated at work while we had broken up wanted to him him with something) and left it at that. He told me “you can ask me anything” and when I did start to ask him questions, like when did their relationship end, was it meaningful to him, are they still in contact, he got mad at me for asking him these questions because to him I am questioning his integrity and viewing him as a lying cheater. After the 7 hours, we decided it might be best for us to end things here, and there’s a very big part of me that doesn’t want to loose him, and can see us being great if we were able to get past these things, but there’s also another part that feels like it is the best thing for us long term.
I’m really struggling here. If you have any insight, or advice I would really appreciate it.

2023.06.01 18:36 AmateurSparky [OPEN DISCUSSION] Weekly thread

Welcome to the (roughly weekly) Open Discussion thread.

We have this discussion thread for a few reasons. We know some people are a bit shy to create a whole new post for a small question they may have, so this is a good place to start. Or, we've learned some tips and tricks to share with the community. This is the place to to to that.

As a growing community we find ourselves having to limit the posts that may be off-topic to the primary purpose of the sub of 1) home improvement questions and 2) sharing of completed projects. These topics include home warranty companies, household tips, general painting advice, room layouts, or rants about companies, contractors, and previous owners. While these may be of interest, we are trying hard to provide a venue that will both allow, and constrain, the conversation. Again, the main goal here is to help homeowners with their homes. Thus, this thread. Thank you for participating.

If you have questions about the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act please post them here as well. The Department of Treasury has also created this FAQ page regarding the bill that may answer some of your questions.

If you haven’t already, please review the sub guidelines. Also a reminder to stay away from any personal or disrespectful commentary. From the sidebar:
Comments must be on-topic, helpful, and kind. Name-calling, abusive, or hateful language is not tolerated, nor are disrespectful, personal comments. No question is too stupid, too simple, or too basic. We're all here to learn and help each other out - enjoy!

2023.06.01 18:33 perappsvenicali like Celine Dion's "Where Does My Heart Beat Now?"

"How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" Hint: A competition winner with dark hair
I can think of younger days when living for my life
What might have been your favorite year of childhood? What was your aspiration during that year?
Was everything a man could want to do.
What is one example of a manly aspiration/ambition?
I could never see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow.
Were you depressed then? Are you happier now? What kind of sorrow have you experienced or witnessed that you would like to help others overcome?
And how can you mend a broken heart?
Do you think you a complete piece of chocolate can help to heal? How about adding more male merchandise at ethnic fashion stores like around the Town Square? Adding more ethnic/Rated-G music to the repertoire within those stores?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How about an umbrella or a roof? Or praying that it doesn't rain? What is your favorite umbrella design and color of roof tiles?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
Do you pray for eclipses? Do you pray for the night to come, whether it is a new moon or not?
What makes the world go round?
Gravity. Tectonics. Magnetic/hematite/lava interior The tidal programming, related to sun, moon, water cycle, atmospheric pressure, air quality. Orientation of other planets and celestial objects, eg comets (c) Dr. Diana Hallare. (R)
How can you mend a this broken man?
Orthopedics. Cardiology. Medicine based on systems. Allowing having but not possessing more trustworthy friends. Discouraging discrimination based on education/skills levels. Encouraging dreaming by communication eg conference and Shark Tank and by REM eg at night, like a car needs to rest too on a road trip or on Instacart rounds.
How can a loser ever win?
As Whoopi Goldberg said, you might need a (low-fat) milk-based drink... to lose weight and win fitness. Sometimes in golf you might think you're losing numbers to win. Last night, I gave up my contaminated bags, even a new one and much content to save my life and save the world. I danced without at least two bags, to encourage fitness/health in society; I lost some sleep because I was woken up by interesting guards in white but I gained more miles on a pedometer. I had the opportunity to see a beautiful red jacket, reminiscent of what I would wear at church, where I read the Bible aloud. Upon seeing that jacket on the rack, I gasped. Then the alarm rang.
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.
Prescriptions:
  1. If you don't want to waste the rest of your 6 month subscription to something like Tinder, maybe prescribe one of your songs per member you encounter on that site. You can ask about one word on the song that made them feel better.
  2. Do you have a CPAP/AED/Wonderful orange?
  3. Find out your favorite flavors of Gatorade.
  4. Check if you'd enjoy Luke's Lightning Chips from Grocery Outlet.
  5. If you would make a quilt or pillowcase in class eg after a ride or two with the St George Express, what design would you have? Would you need special laundry settings if your masterpiece is at least 1 year old?
I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees
Do you like the Carpenters' "Top of the World" song? What is your favorite leaf color? What is your favorite tree?
And misty memories of days gone by
Do you like Barbra Streisand's "The Way We Were"? Would her career as a professor inspire you to teach which university class? How many students would you prefer to be the limit for that class? Do you also like Lionel Richie's "Hello"?
We could never see tomorrow, no one said a word about the sorrow.
What do you hope tomorrow to have/bring? What word can you describe about sorrow?
And how can you mend a broken heart?
Prescription: Would you talk (about dreams, plans, and issues) to an LPCC or more than one member of the Association of "Black" Therapists, eg MFTs? Teletherapy? Group therapy similar to AA or WRAP? Would you have a preference of race if you have a personal registered dietitian?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
Get a water park ion the roof? Or a roof garden like with Reese Witherspoon? (c) Dr. Diana Hlalare (R)
How can you stop the sun from shining?
Why do you want to stop it from shining? Do you want greenery on the mountains? Do you want no more rainforests? Do you want no more grass/hay for the sheep, horses, goats, zebras, giraffes, deer, oryxes, gazelles, antelopes, prairie dogs, cows, bulls? What would the mole in Thumbelina look forward to? What would the groundhog or bears hibernating in the cave look forward to? Is it easy to fly a kite at night like Benjamin Franklin did? What do you think about the Color Run? What do you think about biking at night? Would all our solar farms like of the MGM and Corcoran go to waste? Do you want another Ice Age? Should painted masterpieces be dried only with hair dryers?
What makes the world go round?
It is round shaped at least due to its rotations and revolutions. I remember in class, when you make egg soup and keep stirring it - or even if you stir Rainbiw/Nido/Klim milk, roundish clumps form. The solar system revolves around the sun.
How can you mend this broken man?
Do you like Chris Daughtry's and Amy Adams' "Broken"? Do you like CARE Channel? Do you like reading Better Homes and Gardens? How about the Superfan book (someone self-published)? How about books by Nick Vujicic - doesn't have to b e in Spanish?
How can a loser ever win?
Once upon a time, I lost a pingpong championship (Forrest Gump is still a champ) to my college best friend and a cool pianist who said he ducked into the oven when he heard gunshots outside his family member's home. But I remember well how I surprised myself too as I caught the ball mid-air above my head like a baseball player.
Another time, time was running out. Everyone else who were seated seemed to have left. I seemed to have lost time, but not been lost in time. I finished 20 recipes/list of 20 cookables for vegetable medley - frozen or canned. My handwriting I hope was ok. I hope the cleanup crew smiled. I seemed to have won a tiny bit of more paper to write about another international conference, at least once with 40,000 people... I may have won a tiny bit of paper because I forgot to check out like at the Disney hotel.
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.
It does not take only one person to heal your broken heart or to bring you back on course eg after a TIA or another incident. It does not mean you need 20 girlfriends in succession, 1 by 1, to heal you. But for instance, if you're a survivor of a crash, it takes the tow driver, the policeman, ambulance and firemen as needed, people with cellphones even if you already have your own to get through the night and beyond. It takes Uber, Lyft, Supershuttle, Greencab, the city transit, or your friends to get you back to your workplace and home if they are at least 30 minutes apart by Mustang.

2023.06.01 18:32 NotJustRandomLetters Pacifist zombies

So, running a hard-core world. Managed to get a decent amount of villagers set up for trading (20-ish). Decided I was giving them too many emeralds so I brought in random zombie#1 to chew on them a little bit. Convinced the zombie to join me in the trader hall. He wasn't interested. Thought it was because he couldn't reach over the cobblestone wall. Trapped zombie in with villager. Zombie still won't attack.
They are on the exact same elevation. No carpet, no slabs. I opened Lan, went to spectator, checked for mobs around, killed all creepers, skeletons, and endermen in 300 blocks (thought maybe he won't convert if mob cap is reached?) and he still won't attack.
Have been cycling through survival, creative, and spectator to find a combination of game modes and zombies (on zombie #9 now, even tried several zombie villagers to convert) and they do not want to touch the villagers that are literally bumping up against them, except twice I've managed to get them to attack and convert. But I repeated what I did, and it didn't work a second time. Then tried something else and they attacked and converted, but that didn't work a second time.
Even restarted game. No updates available. It's not a mod, as I've been using the same mods for some time now, and conversions worked in other worlds with these same mods.
Mob grief is on, hard-core, hard mode, same elevation.
Edit: yes the zombie is interested in attacking me until I hide from him to try to get him to attack a villager.
Any ideas?

2023.06.01 18:32 Diabolicaldessert How do I stop my mats slipping on my laminate flooring during TGU?

I use the jigsaw mats and they had been a success so far, but I recently moved home and have relocated my workout space from a carpeted basement to a laminate floor bedroom. During the TGU, the mats slide anything up to 8 inches. I know that the mats don't move at all if my form is spot on, but it's so just so dangerous on heavier weights. I have a few ideas to try and address it but I wanted to see if anyone here had some wisdom to impart.

2023.06.01 18:29 chaos_in_bloom Scientific Research Honors Society- Is it worth it to join?

The tile is pretty self explanatory, but I’ll provide a bit more context here. I got an email saying I have been nominated for full membership to Sigma Xi. I did the cursory glance of the email and the fees associated. My question is this- is it worth the money to be able to have my name as a member of this group? Would anyone at my institution care that I have this? Would it reflect positively in my tenure package?
Any and all insight is appreciated.

2023.06.01 18:17 4thFace Carpet suggestions for a new house

I recently purchased the house linked below. As you can see from the images, the carpet is atrocious. I was planning on stripping it all out and replacing it before I move in. I'm a complete novice in decoration and was wondering if anyone had color or pattern suggestions that would go well with the current style. I was planning on using the general home improvement stores to replace it so it would be nice it was widely available. Also all of the furniture in the images are from staging. Thank you everyone!

2023.06.01 18:12 Zetyr187 I think the Duchy need a rebalance (Kingdom type spoilers in post if you're new)

Duchy are marked as easy, but compared to the others they really have no advantage.
Emirates by far in this game have one of the best abilities. While the very first few years might be difficult with their lack of wood, their trade fee reduction means that they're basically one Companies Act card away from fee-free trading, and that card can even be easily taken off after minimal boosts. They also get some great unique resources like carpet that make trading even less of a problem, which with the way the game market is basically guarantees a win once you get trade companies.
Norsemen have an amazing starting years boost with the wood yield. It's very straight forward that the little extra helps a ton when it comes to coal, tool, house and mushroom farm production. Wood is HUGE in the first couple years even though it very quickly becomes insignificant. The cheese resource is very OP as well. It sells very well and easily feeds a kingdom combined with just a few cattle ranches. The cold resist perk may be almost useless, but getting a boost to the single most important resource on year one more than makes up for it.
Shogunates also feel like they get a very nice early boost with rice, which is a great crop. They don't even need to shift for mid-late game as that rice can be combined into two very powerful food items , Sushi and Ramen. Their assortment of luxuries and extra luxury production as well makes their market presence very easy from whichever angle you tackle it.
Now to swing back to Duchy... All they really have is the research speed, which is only 5%. All the Kingdom's have equal access to the other research boosts in game and your base research speed is determined by the amount of houses (population) and level of houses. All the other Kingdoms have abilities that help them get a boost on progression which means ANYONE else can easily outpace that 5% very quickly. Their other perk is just Potatoes. Now, given real history you'd think potatoes would actually be OP given they have amazing resilience as a crop and plenty of food options that they can make so they could be similar to rice. However that's not the case in game and potatoes aren't even as good as Cabbage. Vodka is decent, but really doesn't shine compared to a lot of other resources that are available to everyone either. It's not super easy to produce and it's sale price is just marginally better most other luxuries of it's tier. It also requires you to grow potatoes which are otherwise useless in game.
I really think the "Easy" Kingdom needs a rebalance or at least mark the Kingdoms correctly with Duchy as "Hard" given they have no natural advantages.

2023.06.01 18:12 BuyBugZapper Use 3,000 Volt Bug Zapper for Flea Control

Fleas are a common problem in households with pets. They can quickly multiply and infest your home, causing irritation and discomfort to both you and your furry friends. Conventional methods of flea control such as sprays, powders, and shampoos can be effective but may not eliminate all the fleas. This is where our 3,000 volt bug zapper comes in handy.
Our powerful bug zapper attracts fleas with its UV light technology and then kills them instantly with its high voltage electric grid. It can quickly cover a large area and effectively eliminate fleas without the use of harmful chemicals or pesticides. Plus, it's safe for humans and pets to use.
Using our bug zapper regularly along with other flea control methods like vacuuming carpets and washing pet bedding can help get rid of fleas from your home once and for all. Don't let these pesky insects take over your living space

2023.06.01 18:08 TheSplendidShinobi Are Ultraboosts just not compatible with my feet?

Are Ultraboosts just not compatible with my feet?
I recently found a great deal on a pair of Ultraboost 5.0 DNAs in my size (8.5M). This was my first time buying Ultraboosts, and I was very excited. They only had one pair left, and it was my usual size, so I thought it was the perfect time to grab my first pair. When I tried them on, I could feel they were a bit tight, but the employee at the store said that they would stretch out over time, so I went ahead and got them.
I wore them to try breaking them in for a couple of weeks, no luck. All that would happen is that the top of my feet would start to ache and my ankles would feel really tight. So I started doing research online, and found out that you're supposed to go .5 size up with Ultraboosts and take the insole out. (The size up I can get behind, but I'm not wearing a shoe without an insole). Oh well, I can't return them so that's that. I do see the potential though, as even though they are very tight on top, the cushioning on the bottom is unmatched.
So, next time I saw a great deal, I got myself some Ultraboost 22s in size 9M, which is .5 bigger than my normal shoe size. I wear them just in my room in order to get a feel for them. 5 minutes in, my feet start going numb due to what feels like loss of blood circulation. So, I loosen the laces as far as they go and remove them from the top eyelets. Still extremely tight and making the top of my feet hurt and go numb. I've had them on for about 8 hours now, and they don't feel like they are stretching.
Compare this to 3 pairs of NMDs I've bought (R1 TR, R1 V2, V3) all in my normal 8.5 size, which fit perfectly and felt amazing. Is this a known issue with Ultraboosts? Are they just not compatible with some people's feet? I'm not going to take the insoles out. Looking to see if anyone else has encountered this, or overcome this issue?

PRIZE PICKS FOR THURSDAY!
📷
Two plays jump out at me on the MLB Prize Picks tab and those are 1) Ryan McMahon over 7.5 Hitter Fantasy Score and 2) Hunter Greene over 6.0 Strikeouts. Now you need to understand what I'm looking for so you can find the other plays hidden in the cheatsheet. Ryan McMahon is averaging a whopping 19.2 fantasy score over the last 5 games and that is a different of 11.7 fantasy score points than his line so that should jump out at you. Second, he is facing Zach Davies who is 0-1 with a 5.68 ERA so that should also slap you in the face and make you want to dig into him further. The next thing I would check is his BVP history and stats vs pitcher handedness. Hunter Green has a whopping 11, 10 and 8 strikeouts in the last 3 games and also has an average of 8.0 strikeouts per game over the last 5 games which is 2 strikeouts higher than his Prize Pick line of 6.0 meaning 5 and less gives you a loss so 6 is even a push so we like that. Now see the yellow arrow he is facing a team that has the 6th lowest K% so the matchup isn't great but that is built into the line at 6.0.
Kevin Gausman is one that I'm really considering in a same game parlay today but PrizePicks has a tight line. He has a great matchup facing a team with the 28th highest K% over the last two weeks and has been over his line of 7.5 in 3 of the last 4 games so don't mind it and the upside is there. If it was 7.0 I'd be all over it, but 7.5 is tight so I'll likely go to DK where I can get over 5.5 and over 6.5 and lay some juice.
Hunter Green Game Logs - Quick Tip!
📷
Make sure that when you find a player you want to use that you look at his last 7 game logs on the cheatsheet. Here you can usually find out if he has faced this team recently and how he did against that team. Looking at his strikeouts I'd give him a range of 7-10 as a range of possible outcomes and then look at the PrizePicks line. Here we see a line of 6.0 so I like taking the over as his range of outcomes is well over that number giving us a high possibility of going over.
📷
Let's dive over to NBA and Jamal Murray over 41.5 fantasy score is just glaring at me. Here you can see he has a 100% hit rate over the last 5 and 80% hit rate over the last 10 games. His last 5 average shows a fantasy score of 54.2 which is a whopping 12.7 points higher than his line. I like to find plays that have a high difference than the line so we have some cushion. Nikola Jokic is always a solid play but we can see he has a difference of only 3.5 and 8 on his props but Murray gives us a difference of 12.7 so I'd lean to Murray.
📷
Caleb Martin has been in every NBA playoff bet I have made, specifically his 2+ and 3+ 3PM shots made. I can get a good line on DK at 2+ to start off a same game parlay and we can see he has 4, 4, 2, 2, 4, 3 and 3 over his last 7 games. If you can get 3+ you are usually at plus money but haven't checked it today. I'm sure PrizePicks will have a 2.5 line on it and I'd lean to the over if you only have access to Prize Picks. Miami should be down and playing catch up which should lead to more Caleb Martin beyond the arc shots. I will have a same game parlay on TwitteFacebook today for the NBA games and I guarantee he will be in it. I'm also impressed with his 10 and 15 rebounds the last 2 games giving us a look at his Points + Rebounds + Assists prop line at 24.5 but the 5, 4, 3, 4 and 4 score me a little in the prior games.

2023.06.01 17:58 4thFace Carpet suggestions for a new house

I recently purchased the house linked below. As you can see from the images, the carpet is atrocious. I was planning on stripping it all out and replacing it before I move in. I'm a complete novice in decoration and was wondering if anyone had color or pattern suggestions that would go well with the current style. I was planning on using the general home improvement stores to replace it so it would be nice it was widely available. Also all of the furniture in the images are from staging. Thank you everyone!

2023.06.01 17:51 muzzletgh Whispers of the Dreamgrove - A Lillia Story (Fan Made Story)

I would first like to clarify, that while I do main Lillia, I am not super in tune with her lore. I just know that I adore her and her Disney-esque whimsy. Secondly, I am an amateur writer who is horrible at writing dialogue, so I tend to write my short stories without it. This is my first attempt at writing a story that takes place in an IP that is not of my own creation. I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback, but also love to hear what you think about this story.
Whispers of the Dreamgrove - A Lillia Story
In the heart of Ionia, where emerald canopies of ancient trees intertwine, a sanctuary untouched by the chaos of the outside world reveals itself. Here, time dances to a different rhythm, and the air sings with a whispered enchantment. It is in this hidden grove that Lillia, the Bashful Bloom, discovers solace and kinship.

The grove, embraced by towering arboreal sentinels, stands as a haven for all that is pure and wild. Its serene beauty weaves a spell that tickles the senses, as gentle sunlight filters through the lush foliage, casting a delightful dance upon the forest floor. Fragrant blossoms scent the air, their delicate aroma mingling with the faintest whispers that ride a breeze meant for the chosen few.

Nestled within this secluded haven, Lillia resides, her ethereal presence a mere ripple in the tapestry of the grove. Cloaked in a soft aura of mystery, she moves with a grace that mirrors the swaying branches above. Her hooves, delicate and soundless, tiptoe upon the mossy carpet, leaving no trace of her passing.

Lillia, the guardian of dreams and secrets, embodies the essence of solitude. Only the ancient trees and the moonlit wanderers of the grove are privy to her existence. Her purpose, twofold, binds her to the very soul of the forest: to protect the slumbering dreams and to safeguard the hidden secrets nestled within the depths of the foliage.

Silent and elusive, Lillia roams the grove, her slender form blending seamlessly with the whispering leaves. Her pale skin, kissed by the moon's gentle light, radiates a luminescence as though she were spun from the forest's essence. Adorning her head rests a crown of antlers adorned with delicate flowers, a whimsical symbol of her connection to the realm of nature and dreams.

The denizens of Ionia, blissfully unaware of Lillia's presence, continue their lives beyond the grove's borders. Unbeknownst to them, a guardian spirit watches tirelessly over their dreams, her existence shrouded in secrecy. The pact between the ancient trees and the enigmatic spirit ensures that Lillia remains known solely to the forest, a charming secret shared between friends.

In this enchanted grove, where the line between waking and dreaming blurs, Lillia stands as an unseen guardian. Her gaze, brimming with wisdom and compassion, pierces through the veils of slumber, nurturing the dreams of sleepers and ensuring they remain undisturbed by the chaos of the outside world.

In recent times, an unusual affliction has descended upon the sacred grove, shrouding its once-vibrant foliage in a dark and foreboding veil. The vibrant colors that once adorned the leaves have now withered, replaced by a sickly hue that hints at an insidious presence lurking within. The gentle whispers that once filled the air with a melodic symphony have been silenced, as if the very essence of the grove has been muted. This delicate balance, cherished by Lillia, now hangs in peril, and her heart resonates with the forest's mournful lament.

Deep within the grove's inner sanctum, where sunlight used to weave its playful dance upon the emerald leaves, now lie shadows that slink with treacherous intent. The once-lively hues have faded into a pallid shade, betraying the presence of a malevolent force. The ancient trees, guardians of the grove, tremble with an eerie unease, their branches stretching out in desperate supplication towards the heavens.

Lillia, ever attuned to the murmurs of the forest, feels the weight of distress that blankets her cherished sanctuary. Her gentle heart quickens with a mixture of determination and trepidation as she embarks on her personal quest. With each step she takes, the soft earth beneath her hooves resonates with both her unwavering resolve and the burden of responsibility she carries.

Guided by her profound connection to the grove, Lillia follows the faint echoes of anguish that linger within its depths. The whispers, once filled with life and beauty, now bear a mournful tone, as if mourning their own fading existence. She traverses the familiar paths she knows so well, her feet barely touching the ground, blending seamlessly with the ethereal ambiance of the grove.

As Lillia ventures further into the heart of the forest, she encounters pockets of the enigmatic darkness that taints the once-vibrant foliage. It clings to the leaves like a suffocating shroud, draining their life essence and casting a somber veil over the grove. Her heart aches with a bittersweet blend of sorrow and determination as she extends her delicate fingers, hoping to kindle a glimmer of restoration in the corrupted leaves.

With each tender touch, Lillia feels the pulse of the grove, a shared heartbeat reverberating through her being. She whispers words of solace, her voice a gentle zephyr that rustles through the branches, carrying the essence of hope upon its breath. Despite the looming threat of darkness, Lillia remains resolute, refusing to surrender to despair. Her resolve, akin to a flickering candle flame, only grows stronger in the face of adversity.

Motivated by her unwavering love for the grove and its denizens, Lillia presses onward, guided by an unseen hand. Though the whispers of the ancient trees have dimmed, their echo still resonates deep within her spirit, urging her forward. She knows that the fate of the grove, and all it symbolizes, rests squarely upon her shoulders, much to her dismay.

As Lillia cautiously ventures deeper into the heart of the forest, an unsettling truth begins to reveal itself. A long-dormant and wicked force has awoken, casting a dark shadow over the once serene grove. This entity, known as the Shadowveil, now emerges with sinister intent. It thrives on the dreams of the innocent, twisting their hopes and aspirations into haunting nightmares.

Within the labyrinthine depths of the forest, Lillia's timid nature senses the presence of this awakened malevolence. Her heart races, and a shiver of fear runs down her spine. The whispers of the trees, usually comforting, now carry a somber warning, urging her to beware the dangers that lie ahead.

With each cautious step she takes, Lillia's trembling hooves navigate the treacherous paths of the grove. She treads carefully, her senses on high alert for any sign of the encroaching darkness. The once peaceful sanctuary transforms into a battleground where opposing forces clash, leaving her overwhelmed and uncertain.

As Lillia continues her journey, she encounters undeniable signs of the Shadowveil's presence. Twisted and thorny vines replace the once vibrant foliage, their grotesque forms seemingly mocking her. The once fragrant air now carries a dank, foreboding scent, making her nose wrinkle in discomfort. The forest she once found solace in becomes an unsettling place that tests her fragile courage.

In a hidden glade deep within the grove, Lillia stumbles upon an ancient mural that tells the chilling tale of the Shadowveil's rise. The vivid images depict innocence transforming into despair, a sight that strikes fear into her trembling heart. Though her natural instinct is to flee, a flicker of determination stirs within her, urging her to face the daunting challenge before her.

With trembling hands, Lillia reaches out to trace the faded lines of the mural, her touch hesitant yet filled with a desperate need to understand. The mural responds to her timid touch, emitting a faint glow as if it recognizes her presence. Whispers, both ancient and gentle, guide her through forgotten incantations that may hold the key to confronting the Shadowveil's grip.

As Lillia cautiously ventured deeper into the heart of the forest, she confronted the twisted creatures that emerged from the influence of the Shadowveil. These grotesque beings, born from the malevolent force, had transformed the once-familiar inhabitants of the grove into corrupted and joyless beings.

With her lithe frame and nimble movements, Lillia engaged in stealthy battles, relying on her agility and the latent magic of her dream-laden branch. Swinging it with grace and precision, she swiftly neutralized the corrupted beings, ensuring that her strikes found their mark.

But it was not only her physical prowess that aided her. Lillia's connection to the dreamscape granted her an advantage beyond mortal capabilities. Tapping into the ethereal realm of dreams, she wove intricate patterns of energy, casting ethereal strands with a wave of her branch. These strands ensnared the minions of the Shadowveil, trapping them within their own nightmares.

As the dream traps took hold, Lillia witnessed a transformation in the corrupted beings. Their twisted forms convulsed and contorted as they struggled against the invisible restraints. In that struggle, their captivated minds were freed, the darkness fading away to reveal glimpses of the innocence and purity that had been stolen from them.

Filled with compassion and determination, Lillia saw these battles as opportunities for redemption, not destruction. Each encounter became a testament to her strength and the power of dreams. With each release, she glimpsed the flickering hope that her efforts might eventually restore balance and light to the grove.

With each victorious encounter, Lillia pressed on, guided by ancient whispers and the luminescent glow of her dream-laden branch. The path ahead grew increasingly perilous, yet her courage blossomed alongside the challenges she faced. No longer burdened by trembling hooves, she moved forward with purpose, delving further into the darkness that enveloped the grove.

And so, Lillia continued her whimsical struggle against the Shadowveil, combining nimble grace with dream-woven magic to battle its corrupted minions. Through each encounter, she inched closer to unraveling the malevolent force's hold on the innocent. With every ethereal trap she crafted, she moved one step closer to reclaiming the dreams that had been devoured by the insidious entity.

As Lillia valiantly battled the twisted creatures born from the influence of the Shadowveil, she embarked on a poignant journey to uncover the origins of this malevolent force. Hidden among the verdant foliage, she discovered ancient carven stones adorned with intricate symbols, each stone revealing a fragment of a sorrowful tale.

Through the hushed whispers of forgotten lore, Lillia pieced together the tragic story of the Shadowveil. Long ago, it was not a harbinger of darkness but a benevolent guardian spirit, entrusted with the sacred duty of nurturing the dreams and aspirations that bloomed within the grove.

Before corruption had tainted its essence, the Shadowveil embodied ethereal beauty and a gentle grace. It danced with the sunlight filtering through the leaves, casting enchanting patterns of shadow and light. Its presence inspired hope and filled the hearts of the grove's inhabitants with a sense of wonder.

But destiny, cruel and capricious, intervened. A lost and tormented wraith, wandering through the realms, encountered the radiant spirit of the Shadowveil. This wraith, consumed by its own suffering, saw the purity within the guardian spirit as an opportunity to perpetuate its own despair.

The wraith's malevolence seeped into the very fabric of the Shadowveil's being, tainting its essence with an overwhelming darkness. The once-ethereal spirit was consumed by the weight of its own despair, transforming into the malevolent entity now known as the Shadowveil.

Lillia's heart ached as she envisioned the radiant spirit that the Shadowveil had once been. She could almost see its luminescent form, glowing with the dreams and aspirations of the grove's inhabitants. It was a heartbreaking reminder of the innocence lost and the tragic fate that had befallen the guardian spirit.

Driven by compassion and a deep sense of empathy, Lillia fought not only to restore stolen dreams but also to bring solace and redemption to the corrupted spirit. Each encounter with the Shadowveil's minions served as a poignant reminder of the beauty that had been extinguished and the pain that now permeated the grove.

Her dream-laden branch pulsed with an otherworldly power, a testament to the dreams and hopes it held. The luminescent glow that emanated from it whispered of forgotten memories, guiding Lillia deeper into the heart of the forest. She was determined to not only heal the grove but also to offer a glimmer of healing to the wounded spirit that had once been the radiant guardian of dreams.

As Lillia pressed onward, the battles against the corrupted minions of the Shadowveil became a somber dance between despair and hope. She fought not only for the dreams and aspirations of the innocent but also for the chance to bring redemption to a spirit lost in the depths of its own anguish.

Driven by her unwavering compassion for the forest and her kin, Lillia ventured deeper into the heart of the grove, guided by the radiant glow of her dream-laden branch. Her destination was the sacred clearing where the formidable Shadowveil stood, its twisted form casting an ominous shadow that seemed to suffocate the land.

With a mixture of grace and occasional clumsiness, Lillia initiated her intricate dance, effortlessly evading the tree-like entity's attacks. Her dream-laden branch emanated an ethereal glow, pulsating with the pure essence of dreams she had reclaimed from the corrupted minions she had encountered. Each strike she delivered resonated with a potent determination, gradually weakening the Shadowveil's hold on the forest.

The ancient guardian spirit, now enveloped in darkness, unleashed waves of malevolent energy, its branches contorting and reaching out hungrily. Yet, Lillia's otherworldly agility allowed her to evade the grasping tendrils with nimble movements. Although her dance bore hints of awkwardness and unrefined elegance, it exuded a raw beauty that stemmed from her unwavering conviction and the glimmer of hope that persisted within the Shadowveil.

The air grew thick with a palpable blend of despair and longing as the showdown unfolded. Lillia's heart thumped with each beat, resonating with the pain and turmoil she sensed within the corrupted spirit. Deep within the layers of darkness, she knew that a fragment of the radiant guardian's essence still yearned to be set free.

With each strike and defensive maneuver, Lillia tapped into not only her own strength but also the collective dreams and aspirations of the grove's inhabitants. The dream-laden branch shimmered, interweaving the hopes and wishes of all who had been affected by the Shadowveil's corruption. Its radiant energy infused her attacks with unwavering power, as if the very essence of the forest rallied behind her, lending her strength in the battle against encroaching shadows.

In the midst of the tempestuous confrontation, the ultimate outcome remained uncertain. The delicate balance between Lillia's compassion and the Shadowveil's despair teetered on the precipice of redemption or eternal darkness. Undeterred, she pressed on, guided by an unwavering belief in the transformative power of dreams.

As the pivotal moment approached, a surge of energy coursed through Lillia's being. A torrent of radiant light, interwoven with the very essence of dreams, gathered within her. With unwavering determination, she unleashed this formidable power, directing it towards the looming presence of the Shadowveil. The luminous cascade enveloped the corrupted entity, penetrating the layers of darkness that had plagued it for far too long.

The surge of radiant energy, infused with the dreams reclaimed from the Shadowveil's minions, acted as a cleansing force, unravelling the insidious tendrils of corruption that had ensnared the ancient guardian spirit. The Shadowveil convulsed, its twisted form contorting in a mixture of agony and relief. Lillia's magic, driven by her boundless compassion, permeated every inch of the entity, offering solace and forgiveness in its wake.

In that climactic moment, the weary guardian found solace at last. The essence of the Shadowveil yielded to the soothing embrace of an eternal slumber, its torment finally laid to rest. Lillia, her voice filled with heartfelt empathy, whispered a tender wish for pleasant dreams to accompany the guardian spirit in its eternal repose.

As the radiant energy dissipated, a serene stillness settled upon the grove. The corrupted tendrils that had tainted the once-vibrant land withdrew, vanishing into ethereal wisps of shadow. The oppressive shroud cast by the Shadowveil lifted, and the grove bathed in the gentle glow of renewed tranquility.

With the malevolence banished, the grove erupted in joyful celebration. The once-stunted flora flourished with newfound vitality, their vibrant hues painting the landscape with a kaleidoscope of colors. Delicate flowers bloomed, their fragrant petals dancing upon the soft caress of the breeze. Sunlight filtered through the dense foliage, casting enchanting patterns of light and shadow upon the rejuvenated forest floor.

The inhabitants of the grove, from the tiniest woodland creatures to the towering ancient trees, reveled in the return of harmonious existence. Their spirits lifted as the weight of the Shadowveil's corruption dissipated, replaced by a profound sense of hope and bliss. Whispers of gratitude echoed through the verdant expanse, mingling with joyous songs of celebration, creating a symphony of nature's delight.

And yet, amidst the jubilation, an air of anticipation lingered.

Lillia stood amidst the vibrant grove, her heart swelling with a newfound victory and a flicker of courage that had ignited within her. The triumph over the Shadowveil had awakened her spirit to the possibilities that lay beyond the familiar confines of her secluded home. The forest, in all its ancient wisdom, seemed to beckon her towards the mysteries of the wider Ionian realm, urging her to step out and interact with the humans who dwelled there.

As she stared into the distance, Lillia felt a tantalizing sense of adventure tugging at her very core. Her imagination painted vivid pictures of encounters, friendships, and stories that awaited her beyond the boundaries of her forest sanctuary. The allure of the unknown whispered promises of growth and connection, enticing her to take that leap of faith.

But just as she was about to muster the courage to step forward, a chilling breeze of doubt swept through her. Fear, like an old adversary, crept into her thoughts, whispering tales of rejection and the pain of not being accepted by the world beyond. It gnawed at her, threatening to shatter her fragile hopes and dreams.

With a heavy sigh, Lillia gently shook her head, as if trying to dispel the doubts that threatened to hold her back. She knew that her journey, though filled with triumphs, wasn't quite complete. There were still layers of healing and growth she needed to unravel before venturing into the uncharted territory of the human realm.

Resolute in her decision, Lillia chose to return to her secluded existence, at least for now. She embraced the contentment that came with the personal victory she had achieved, finding solace in the healing embrace of the grove. The forest, sensing her choice, whispered its gratitude, a gentle breeze carrying its appreciation through the rustling leaves. The ancient trees, now teeming with newfound life and vibrant energy, swayed and sang songs of heartfelt appreciation to their humble protector.

Lillia understood that her journey would continue, guided by the whispers of the wind and the dreams that still burned within her. She knew that, one day, when the time was right, she would gather enough strength to step beyond the safety of her forest home and embrace the human world with open arms. But for now, she would cherish the tranquility of her grove, nurturing her own spirit and blossoming alongside the vibrant flora that surrounded her.

96 Cherokee XJ floor pan rust opinion?
Hi guys, i found this 96 Cherokee country in great condition. Single owner with under 200k miles. Only mentionable rust i spotted as you’ll see in the images were on the floor pans. I poked at all of the rusted areas, they were mostly solid except for one small hole i was able to poke through to the carpet, just above the left rear wheel. The Jeep isn’t in my possession yet as the seller is waiting to receive the title. So I have not yet pulled the carpet to see how floor pans look from the inside. Have a look at the photos I’ve pointed red arrows at the one hole. Would appreciate any tips, advice or guidance on how to go about this. Again the rest of the car looks to be in great shape. Let me know your thoughts, Thanks!

2023.06.01 17:46 ActionDespiteFear I think i have had cancer for more than 10 years but i'm too afraid to go to the doctor

I am a 25 year old male, who is pretty much sure that he's had testicular cancer for around 12 years. Ever since I become 13 my left ball started feeling a little bit longer and over the years it grew a lot. I have had severe social and health anxiety all my life which meant I just swept the problem under the carpet.
I have had almost no pain, just discomfort cuz the ball is hanging low. I expected to be dead by now, however despite it being grown twice the size of my other ball, I am still alive and have no symptoms of cancer that I know of, the only thing is I don't have an erection.
I really want to go to the doctor and find out WHY I am not dead yet, but I am afraid for several reasons:
  1. I have never shown this to anyone and I am afraid to show it to the doctor, I have problems even looking at it myself, I don't look at it while I'm changing clothes.
  2. The fear that the doctor is gonna judge me and ask me how can I be so stupid to never visit him during those 12 years. The fact that he will tell me that if I had gone 10 years ago I could have been saved, but now it's too late.
  3. The fear that I will have it confirmed as cancer and they will put me on chemo.
I watched my grandma die of cancer 2 years ago. She was pretty bad before she went to the doctor, skinny, no apetite, no energy, basically looked sick (I have none of these issues), once they put her on chemo she died within 2 months.
Over the years I have had blood work done for other reasons, no doctor has detected anything wrong with my blood, leukocytes and erythrocytes were within norms, i have had urine tested for kidney disease and it was also fine.
I am afraid to show that monster ball though, I am afraid the cancer is now spread and if I go they will make me do chemo and some kind of surgery and I will get worse (I'm practically ok now, full of energy).
You will ask why do I want to go then? Because I want to stop being controlled by fear. I want to experience sex as I have been way too embarrassed to show myself naked to anyone I have been avoiding it.
I am afraid though, I think if I go, I will die. The doctors in my country are famous for putting anyone on chemo and most of the cases it never works.
How have I not died or shown any signs of worsening of the disease for over 12 years? Should I go or continue "living" like that in fear, wondering what's wrong with me?
I am very very scared.

2023.06.01 17:41 TechJKL Note to self: wait to upgrade versions

I just updated my version to 11 and I thought maybe a couple things might break but oof. Monk's active tiles not working probably hurts the worst.
I think I've learned a lesson here. I think before I update the version, I need to make a backup of my campaign... and if everything is broken like this, roll back and wait.
Pretty sure it's too late now, as it went through all my campaign files and journals and packs and everything and updated them for V11.
EDIT: I went back in and realized I grabbed 11, not 12

2023.06.01 17:20 Relative_Zombie8876 Is a bruise on the knee ever a big concern?

F 27 vape smoker and drinker diagnosed with ASD depression anxiety asthma and HS- I fell on slick tile floor while intoxicated and landed right on my knee cap on 4/29 it was excruciating when it happened but again I was very intoxicated so I walked (limped) it off and went to sleep soon after. When I woke up it hurt a lot and was swollen. I was limping was on vacation so I Ignored it. It has felt less stable since but I have bad knees as it is. Over the last month the bruise seemed to heal. only when I bent my knee could I see some purplish marks and there was little to no pain. Then on 5/27 I noticed the bruise coming back and my knee hurts more than ever. When I go to sit down my knee feels like it’s giving out or like it’s just gonna pop so I have to fall back or quickly shift all my weight to my other leg. My other knee has a minor meniscus tear so it’s not happy about this haha. At this point it seems to be getting worse than better but I can walk fine. could it just be a nasty bruise of the bursa that is taking long to heal or should I be concerned? don’t remember doing anything to injure it a second time.

2023.06.01 17:17 maddy2690 How to make two different flooring meet?

Hi all! I need some ideas/suggestions.
Our house is a ranch style home and the bedrooms are off small hallways. The hallways and bedrooms are carpeted and the main house is mainly hardwood flooring. I want to replace the bedroom carpet with flooring but how do I make 2 different flooring meet together and look good? Do I just have to try to find the same flooring?
This is newly our home and Idk what kind of hardwood this is/was. Also the hardwood is harder to maintain (or I just don't know how yet) with all our animals so I was thinking of lvp for the bedrooms. I'm open to ideas/suggestions!
This would be mainly a diy project and I'm not terribly experienced (my husband has some experience in both carpeting and flooring but is super busy so won't be able to help much) so please keep that in mind!
