Scooby doo trick or treat soundtrack

I've spent the last year or so catching up on all things Scooby (all series and animated movies). I'm starting to wrap things up as I've watched most of them and imagine my disappointment when I see that Warner Bros. is no longer making anything with Scooby-Doo.
It seems like the yearly animated movies are done as they cancelled the ones in development and with Scooby & Guess Who? over there's currently no TV series in development.
(somehow Velma: Season 2 is happening but I don't want to speak of that evil)
Is there something coming I haven't heard of? Would be a damn shame if after 50+ years of solid Scooby-Doo content they ended the show due to corporate mergers at Warner Bros.

Hey guys, if you're happy with your emulation handheld, than I'm happy for you. But I was not. I've had a few, but after the USB C port on my RG 35XX fell off, I considered my budget and options. I did a bit of research. I lurked the 'Bay. And I got to scheming. Ofc flagships have better SoCs and specs, but something I was surprised by is, just how much a 1080P AMOLED display makes even the nicest IPS' or the Vita OLED used in recent offerings look like trash in comparison. Yet with every pro there comes a con, that being price. As mentioned I wringed my hands and got to scheming. The only major con of using a flagship as a handheld is the hefty cost. But, what if you sought out a flagship smartphone that couldn't smartphone? A few months ago after research and lurking, I snagged a Galaxy s21 FE with a bad EIN number for $99.99 on ebay. I braced my expectations, assuming it would be in rough shape, but its wasn't. I'm guessing it was a demo unit because its came in pristine shape. So far we have: Pros: -Hundred bucks -Snapdragon 888 -6gb ram -1080p 120hz AMOLED panel -Flagship build quality Cons: -Cant make calls(still have my LG v60 for phone stuff so nonissue) -Full, latest android( pro and con) rather than a limited emulation build -Tons of configuration(enjoyable if not outright preferable for some) -Have to carry either a telescopic or BT controller with a clip(8bitdo SN30 pro XBOX edition with clip is 40 bucks well spent, I love this thing. This and other options have terrific construction and reliability. And being that I carry a backpack and hard case everywhere I go, this is a non-issue for me.) -exponentially more setup/upkeep(I can't stress this enough, lol)
My favorite consoles for emulation are SNES, GBA, and Dreamcast, which after giving the Devs a few bucks, I can upscale into oblivion, which is incredible. The biggest overall cons of the s21 FE and using a flagship for emulation are the lack of expandable storage and greater setup, curation, and not being able to just use built-in controls to get into games.. But assuming I can plug into my PC from time to time, its fine. 128gb is more than adequate for overkill for cartridge based retro and a discerning, cyclical smattering for disk based consoles and handhelds. I realize this setup has what may be dealbreaking cons for many, but I also think it merits consideration by others. I was on a budget, but wanting performance, build quality, and a great display; I've found what I think to be a great solution. It's been an ongoing, time consuming endeavor, but I'm an obsessive tinkerer and it's been a fun way to wind down in the evening, lol. If you don't mind having to navigate a bit on the touchscreen and a very time expensive setup/upkeep, then I strongly recommend such a device. Has anyone else done a similar setup? If so, what are your thoughts and opinions? Also, do you have any tips/tricks for myself or others? Or conversely, if you're intrigued, do you have any questions or concerns? Here are a few tips for me: -Use dedicated emulators for your favorite systems for performance/customization but frontends for your less-played consoles. -Spend a few dollars in the play store for any Autoboot application for a more seemly, dedicated experience. -Find a way to love and appreciate the process and upkeep. If you can't, this may not be for you. I've enjoyed having a chill mindless prebed activity. -Figure out your budget and stick to it. I'm glad I did as I'm a dude of modest means, but could see several ways I could've overspent. -Thoroughly consider how you would incorporated such a device into your routine and gaming habits. I've barely spent $150 but can emulate through 6th generation consoles extremely well and far better than comparably priced chinese handheld. -The best SoC in comparably priced handhelds is the Unisoc T618 which though great, is trounced by my SD 888 because overkill is always better than inadequacy. -Consider what you already have and what you will actually play. I have too many consoles, most of which are modded, but still my s21 has managed to carve out a really fulfilling niche into my gaming hobby. If you mostly play SNES/GB via emulation and aren't an elitist tech twat such a myself, you may be happy with your miyoo mini. But if you've found holes in your experience or just want a fun project, this is a straight banger of a "treat 'yoself" experience. Lmk if you have any thoughts, questions, or tips and I'll see ya around the sub friends. And I'm typing this with my good thumb on my emulation handheld/phone, so forgive my formatting. I'll pop on my desktop in the morning. One of my players asked about playing an 'Us' campaign where the characters are literally just the players put on a sheet and thrown into the world.
If you've seen my other post you know I recently acquired the Gamma World 2nd Ed boxed set. I'm thinking a weird time travel anomaly and just thrusting them into Gamma World would actually work really well for that.
Have them all start off as pure strain humans and roll up the weird stuff as they die or acquire retainers.
Anyone played anything like this and have any thoughts or advice? I'm picturing my playgroup Scooby Dooing around as themselves and running from everything and I find the idea pretty amusing...

I have always wanted a giant breed dog. Always been obsessed with them. When I finally had the money to care for one, I had to contend with the fact I had small children.
I did my research, and Great Danes and Irish Wolfhounds came out on top for being gentle giants. I picked an Irish Wolfhound.
My dog just turned one. She's 100+ lbs and towers above my 6' husband on her hind legs. I've never counted on genetics to keep things peaceful. It's ALL training. My kids treat my dog with respect and she knows she can trust me to stop them if they get crazy. If the dog gets hyper, or they want to play with her; we go for walks, play fetch, use treats to do her obedience tricks, separate either a hyper puppy or a hyper kid before they beef each other up to psycho crazy mode. This works. This has been the best dog I've EVER owned.
However. It bugs me how people want to intentionally antagonize her. It's one thing on walks, because that's outside her territory and I assume I just need to train her to deal with it. (I'm about 80% successful, so far.)
But today, my son had a friend over who immediately started slapping her in the face and started laughing at her mock snapping at their arms, and then slapped her in the face and ran away... my dog got excited and chased him and by sheer momentum accidentally knocked them down. I had to scold my dog an separate them. Told the kid that we don't roughhouse with the dog.
Minutes later, she went to lay down on my bed and they started slapping her again. She jumped off the bed, tail wagging, ready for a new friend....this kid GRABBED HER BY THE NECK and tried to throw my dog to the ground. They weigh like 60 lbs at best and my dog, stepped on their foot trying to get away, and the kid cried out in pain.
I rushed over to check on them, but they said they were not hurt. I told them that they can't play with my dog like that, and they said they live with big dogs; it's okay...🙄
I'm kind of frustrated at this point. It was my choice to get a giant dog, and I don't want my children's social life to suffer because of that.
But on the other hand, my giant dog is amazing with my two year old. She can walk her on a leash and make her do all her tricks. If my dog gets the zoomies, my dog is just as careful of not knocking her down as my toddler is as giving her a clear path. Even a BABY gets it.
I can lock my dog in her crate, which I sometimes do if I have guests that are afraid of big dogs. But she seems to understand the difference. If someone who is scared and ignores her completely comes over, she acts like she's just taking a nap. But if someone mistreats her, and I put her away just because she's bigger, she gives the saddest doe-eyes and whimpers. If I let the dog out, she picks right back up.
It's like once you tell my dog you want to rough house, she won't drop the point. I've had to tell my other child's friends this before they listen , but this one kid just seems to want to slap and choke my dog.
I'm about to ban this kid from my house. Thoughts?

What is Rock, Paper, Shotgun?
Rock, Paper, Shotgun (RPS) is a PC-gaming focused site based in the UK that was started in 2007. It has the usual gaming site content – Top 5/10/50/100 lists, publisher or developer press releases dressed up as news, reviews, previews, press event reports, a podcast, and – important to this story – a comment section below articles where gamers and capital-G Gamers, left-wing and right-wing alike, can find unity in complaining that their favourite was inappropriately placed in the aforementioned Top 5/10/50/100 lists.
(Fun fact: one of the co-founders of RPS was Kieron Gillen, who has since worked on Uncanny X-Men, Young Avengers, Marvel’s Darth Vader, and co-created Doctor Aphra.)
Of note, RPS bucks the generally apolitical nature of gaming sites by being quite openly left-wing. Though it generally isn’t a feature of many articles, it does show up on occasion, and not always in the best light. For instance, this article that has an unusual bone to pick with Rainbow Six Siege having a female hostage in the E3 demo. Despite Tom Clancy himself having a reputation as a conservative, and that’s pretty evident in his fiction, the Rainbow Six series has been unusually progressive in having women fighting terrorists alongside the men since the inception, and Siege was no exception. It was actually quite rare in the ‘90s that a woman not named Lara Croft was involved in the action alongside the boys, so it does seem like an article about Rainbow Six’s treatment of women is more about having a bone to pick.
(Editorial note: I do not believe a person’s identity is political. Some people do. There’s a saying that applies to capital-G Gamers – “There are two genders: male and political.” Often when they decry keeping politics out of video games, it’s directed at any sort of inclusion. So, the political slant on this is just to point out that left-wing people are generally pro-trans and right-wing people are generally not. Spoiler alert, this is a discussion about trans people.)
What is wargaming?
Within gaming, there are genres. Wargaming is one of them, and quite niche. Within the genre, there’s a diverse spectrum of passion. Some would consider themselves wargaming fans if they played and liked the Total War series. More hardcore wargamers would vehemently disagree and look down their nose at a game that has giant men standing on a world map; in their minds, wargaming is the domain of the chit and NATO symbology – a whole other language where a rectangular with an X through it represents an infantry unit, and the number of Xs or Is above the rectangle represents its size from XXXXX being army group, XX being division, II as battalion or I as company. (Give me hexes or give me death!) But in general, it’s operational (think the Italian campaign of WWII), strategic (the invasion of Sicily the Allies), or tactical (taking a specific town in Sicily with a regiment), and generally turn-based but occasionally real-time. You won’t find Age Of Empires in this genre, for instance.
Wargaming is not exclusive to the digital space either, and it’s just as likely to be played around an enormous table with intricate landscapes, pushing 8mm, 15mm or bigger pieces, usually hand-painted, and rolling dice. They’ll have a hefty rulebook in hand to consult how many dice you roll and what sort of success you need in order for your British mortar team to successfully knock out the German machine gun nest on the rooftop. Warhammer 40K is the most famous example, but that’s a single guy per base; the deeper wargames have a single base representing a squad or platoon stuck together to move as a group.
(The more hardcore have taken on the moniker grognards, a reference to old soldiers and specifically the original Imperial Guard that fought under Napoleon at Waterloo.)
What’s The Flare Path?
Among the contributors to RPS was one named Tim Stone, who started writing for the site as soon as it was founded. (I cannot use anonymity, so the usual sub rules apply about leaving people alone; Tim’s still writing and in order to engage with this drama, we have to link articles that clearly have his name on them.) There’s a distinction between staff and contributors; staff were full-time employees of the business, whereas contributors are just freelancers who pop in and out. He was not a run-of-the-mill writer who would guzzy up press releases, Tim only had one ongoing feature called The Flare Path with a supplemental Friday Foxer. Though he started out doing little comics under the title Strafe Left, he moved on to reviews and features before creating the regular feature The Flare Path in 2011.
The title The Flare Path is a reference to the lights that outline runways, allowing aircraft to take off or land at night. And that is a pretty good summation of the feature, because Tim’s focus was exclusively on wargaming and simulations, which could mean directing squadrons of aircraft to take off for a mission, or yourself piloting a plane to a gentle landing guided by the flare path. Every Friday, you would just as likely find an article about a game where you drive a train in rural England as you would a wargame where you command Roman legions in that very same countryside. Among the regular features were A2Z articles, where Tim would have short snippets for each letter of the alphabet, with Q often necessarily “Quick tea break” due to the infrequency of that letter showing up. For instance, a new ARMA game might be A, then teasing a review of Battle Brothers is B, and so on, just a fun way to wrap up a lot of short bits of news that don’t have enough meat for a full article.
Another article type would see Tim break out of his usual Friday containment and run communal games, typically Combat Mission. Combat Mission is a WWII/Cold War turn-based tactics game where you’d queue up orders to your units that would then be executed for 60 seconds, during which the other side would be executing their own orders and you’d simply have to watch how your planning and preparation plays out. And it turns out, this is surprisingly adaptable to a group game – Tim would grid the map, lay out a scenario, identify the units and the objectives, and then people would comment below the article to give instructions. You could only move one unit in a turn and you had to be the first to claim that unit, but you’d say, for example, “I’d like to move 1st Squad to H3 and try to suppress the machine gun,” and Tim would take your comment and play it out. The next day, he’d do a little narrative report on who did what, where, and when, and what the enemy did in response, in a fun narrative way, even naming characters who pulled off particularly heroic or cowardly feats. Then he’d update the map, and the next turn begins.
Alongside his regular article, he’d also post a Friday Foxer. He’d have a variety of different games in the Foxer genre, and often rewarded correct answers with prizes – usually codes for games that developers gave him. One type was giving clues to a location and the readers would have to deduce where Tim was “standing” that fit all the criteria. Others were Catchphrase-like messages hidden in images that you’d need to decode, or a series of seemingly-unrelated images which had a theme that you’d need to identify.
I go on these tangents to emphasize that Tim had built himself a little community on RPS. While contributors did reply to reader comments in articles, Tim was often playing a game with readers, which endeared him to some people. Not only that, if you were interested in wargaming or simulations, any article on RPS about those genres was typically Tim’s domain. For a certain group, Tim was the only regular source of news on two niche genres, and the only reason to read RPS if the newest action game or looter-shooter didn’t appeal to you. There was and (spoilers) is nothing like The Flare Path and the Foxers on RPS, as far as actual engagement with the article itself through community wargames or puzzles.
Equally important, wargaming itself is niche enough that there are few others who do what Tim does. Wargaming.net is actually the name of the company who makes World Of Tanks, World Of Warships and others – ironically, none of which would qualify as wargames and would barely pass musters as simulations either. Wargamer has infrequent articles. The best podcast on the subject is Three Moves Ahead (which originally launched as the podcast for the now-defunct Flash Of Steel website), but the podcast is infrequent as well, is primarily focused on a single game per episode (though with comparisons made by the host or guests to other games), and has a bit too much focus on Total War or every single new Paradox DLC for Crusader Kings at the exclusion of more niche titles.
On a weekly schedule, Tim became a stable pair of hands, and was directing his community to support all sorts of up-and-comers who were otherwise ignored or neglected or just invisible to wider gaming press.
I also want to point out that there’s an often-unspoken ethical question at the core of wargaming as a hobby. To his credit, Tim often wrote about it, and would even avoid wargaming topics as a matter of sensitivity to significant dates. As players in this hobby, we are moving chits around that represent thousands of people and though nobody obviously dies, wargaming frequently deals with historical events and it’s something we need to be aware of. Tim would frequently muse in his articles or bring it up in interviews with developers – to paraphrase, what we’re doing for “fun” is essentially turning some very dark times in human history into entertainment, and to what extent should we be aware of that? Should we want to simulate “playing” as Germany to conquer Europe, which in the real world resulted in tens of millions of innocent and not-so-innocent people dying? It’s a tough conversation to have and Tim chose to engage with it, which probably put him offside with some of his readers, because it’s a topic that actually genuinely is bringing politics into gaming, unlike a lot of the gaming discourse.
A journalist is booted off a fictional radio for being a bit TERFy, resulting in a journalist being booted off a website for being a bit TERFy.
The inciting incident for this drama is an article posted in 2020 about a UK journalist who was one of several used by game developer Ubisoft to provide voiceovers for the video game Watch Dogs Legion. In the article, it is revealed that this journalist had in the past posted a 2017 The Times article titled “A man can’t just say he has turned into a woman.”
What is TERF? Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist, which probably spiked the Google charts more recently with The Author Who Shall Not Be Named. I will add this disclaimer, I am inferring things about Tim when I call him a TERF, and maybe I’m giving too much credit. I don’t know if Tim Stone is a feminist, so I’m giving the benefit of the doubt, and I wear that. The author of The Times article is a self-proclaimed feminist, and does claim to support trans right, but according to the RPS article, “(She) uses familiar hand-wringing about biological sex, transgender identification as a trend, and people with penises in women's changing rooms.” I’ll leave it up to your judgement whether you think either is an actual TERF or not.
In an unusual move, one Tim Stone showed up in the comments of the above article, and that’s the meat of this drama.
The Alamo but with TERFs.
The comments, as you can imagine, were completely chill since obviously “censoring” a “journalist” in a “video game” for “anti-trans views” outside of the game itself is just the perfect intersection of everything political on an internet forum possible. (The voiceover in the game was scripted by Ubisoft and was itself not an issue; they were choosing to remove the voiceover to remove association with the journalist based on their views.)
One user wrote:

there are diverse voices within RPS when it comes to games, genres, preferences etc but I would say (and i’d be prepared to be challenged on this) there is zero diversity in respect of political views and arguable groupthink and alignment particularly around trans issues.

To which Tim opined:

There's at least one regular RPS contributor who'd like to see the site show a little more respect for the gender critical position in the trans rights debate. Me.

He proceeded to link several articles, saying,

I agree with all those arguing for more constructive discussion and less name-calling in this debate.

And we’re off to the races.
One commenter wrote:

never mind 'gender critical' being an obvious dogwhistle, it boggles the mind that you think "trans rights debate" is an acceptable string of words in 2020
trans rights are human rights, this shit isn't a debate

And significantly, it wasn’t just site users who were chiming in. Another writer for RPS came in guns blazing:

The "gender critical position" is tired snivelling cowardice hiding behind Very Real Concerns while throwing shit at the people whose lives are routinely treated like an intellectual excercise. [sic]
I am frankly embarrassed [sic] to see you repeating such dogwhistling bullshit. The obviously lying "I am cancelling my subscription!!!" oafs in here are one thing, but this is just sad.

What the writer was alluding to was the typical capital-G Gamer response to anything political (and often something is only “political” if they don’t like it), namely “Get your politics out of my video games.” Often the corollary of that was “..or I’m getting out of your website.”
The inciting article is itself tame. Incredibly tame. As referenced earlier, it has the usual games journalism scent of just dressing up a press release. At the most judgemental, they referenced that the voiceover-providing journalist had “some pretty ugly opinions about transgender people” and “that’s decidedly not neat,” which is just the lovely understatement you get from British people. “This is a bit bothersome” was, I believe, repeatedly uttered during the Blitz.
I won’t bore with copying over more comments, but it gets quite heated – although Tim seems to remain quite collected in the comments, which does have an air that he isn’t aware of what kind of hornet’s nest he’s kicked. The most noteworthy exchange is between a user and Tim, where the user writes:

It is distressing that you think my rights as a trans person are subject to some sort of "trans rights debate," and that "gender critical" is anything but a dog whistle for the same transphobic rhetoric as I've always been subject to, but now behind a veneer of intellectualism and civil discourse.
This isn't a matter of left and right, it's a matter of respect for other human beings. Good to know at least one RPS writer has none for me.

And Tim’s response:

I have profound respect for you and your life choices.
I also believe that questions like "Should trans women be allowed to compete in female sports?" and "Should male-bodied trans women be housed in womens' prisons?" are worthy of debate.
To forbid all debate on "trans rights" and to seek to silence and cancel people who don't unquestioningly support one side of the argument seems horribly totalitarian to me.

If you were to take an unfriendly view of Tim, this might be it – calling a person’s transition a “life choice”, and then putting the question of trans rights up for debate, calling the desire not to debate someone’s human rights “totalitarian.”
In all, Tim would comment eight times, with his last being:

Some proposed trans rights clash with women's rights in certain areas. It is not bigoted to point this out or advocate debate so that compromises can be reached.

Overrunning the drop zone.
Five days later, the RPS Twitter account posts this tweet.

Trans rights are human rights. We strive to create an inclusive space for all people. Earlier this week, a freelancer used the RPS comments section to express views that failed in that goal. We will no longer be working with this freelancer or publishing their column.

And just like that, the flares are snuffed and Tim’s time at RPS comes to an abrupt end after 13 years of service.
The responses, I’m sure you can imagine, are the usual volleys from the usual battle lines. Left-wing and trans rights people are chuffed to bits, believing that an insidious TERF has been weeded out from RPS. They view his comments about bathrooms and sports as the usual dogwhistle, typical of the alt-right where the goal is to draw increasingly smaller circles to exclude trans people from one thing after another until they ultimately cannot exist in society. Gamers with a right-wing focus and wargamers (and those are not mutually exclusive) try to cancel culture RPS, many declaring that they’d never return to the site for this grave injustice. And for wargamers, that’s pretty easy; Tim was the only one catering to their genre appetite, and there literally was no reason to return without Tim. The most vanilla response was those who didn’t care about the comment section conflict at all and just wanted their dang wargaming news.
(The wargaming audience was not exclusively on the right-wing - the creator of one of the biggest wargaming podcasts showed up in the comments too, and took a distinctly anti-Tim and pro-trans stance.)
The last (spoilers, not really) article posted by Tim was a typical A2Z column, and became somewhat of a shrine to him. Of note, the very user to whom Tim gave his perhaps most damning response showed up:

Please don't assume Tim is a TERF. I was involved, and indeed in lots of was responsible for what happened on the other forum which i am devastated by.
I am trans and Tim replied in support of a view that i expressed! He shared some views and links to articles (including one from a trans blogger) that many people (including many trans people) would agree with. And even if they didn't, and Alison below articulates the position better than i could, its not like he went on an alt right tirade. This is a reasonable person making reasonable views very politely and and commenter whether they agreed with those or not has gained nothing from what happened subsequently, and we have all collectively lost something.

Flare Path fans were somewhat split. The most mild responses were critical of RPS for how they booted Tim out the door without a second chance; some were concerned that it’s not a great way to win allies and convince people. Throw in the usual snippets: “cancel culture” and references to “The Inquisition”, and a number of people saying their farewells to RPS. In an odd way – and I did it myself by calling this a shrine – the comment section really does feel like the man died, with some outright coming to, quote, “pay their respects”.
Of particular note, a user named hms_pepperpot shows up, and it looks like it’s Tim. I have no evidence to the contrary and the phrasing is close enough that I’m willing to believe it. But wait, Tim was posting as Tim Stone in the inflamed comment section, right? Yep, the divorce was so swift and decisive that they even blocked his access to his old username, or deleted it entirely – either way, he was in the comments to say goodbye under an alias.

Leaving RPS without being able to say a proper goodbye to you, the readers who have made my job such a joy this past thirteen years, has been one of the most depressing aspects of the last few days. Your enthusiasm was as important to The Flare Path's modest success as the complete creative freedom Graham afforded me. Thank you for making possible the happiest years of my working life.
While the Flare Path name is destined for the scrap heap, the concept and spirit of the column will hopefully live on. I'm planning to pick up pretty much where I left off early in the new year. An article devoted to the FP game jam entries will be amongst the first pieces I post. Of course, there will be foxers too.
To readers hurt by my words last weekend, all I can say is a heartfelt sorry - I didn't set out to wound and have no wish whatsoever to make the lives of trans people more difficult. To readers baffled by the comments that ended up costing me my job, I strongly recommend reading a thoughtful essay written by Sam Smethers, the CEO of respected British women's rights charity The Fawcett Society. Google 'Sex and Gender Indentity: Finding a Way Forward' and you should find it.

Of note, HMS Pepperpot is a reference to warship HMS Penelope. With Tim’s penchant for riddles and puzzles, it is not likely a coincidence that:

On wartime service with Force K, she was holed so many times by bomb fragments that she acquired the nickname "HMS Pepperpot".

Though Tim had some in agreement with his views in the inciting comment section, he was undoubtedly outnumbered and taking a lot of flak.

Some time later, Tim would resurface on a new site of his own creation, Tally-Ho Corner. Very much The Flare Path with a new coat of paint, he would carry on with his regular columns on a weekly basis. The Foxers returned, as did A2Z and communal wargaming. RPS, for their part, did not seem to fight to keep the column to themselves. There was a small exodus as RPS had once been a PC gaming site with a wargaming/simulation column, to just a PC gaming site. Those with only an interest in those genres left; there was nothing for them anymore. An unknown number followed Tim to his new endeavour and made themselves known over there. Striking out on his own has costs, however, and Tim sells membership and banner space to those who wish to help out. He has made follow-up requests since Tally-Ho Corner started which would indicate that it isn’t a profitable venture; he says he only wants enough to support the site, and seems to be happy to continue for the love of the hobby. He has alluded to the site not breaking even, so you can infer from that what you want about the size of the Flare Path exodus. Like I said, it’s a very niche hobby, so even 100% of Flare Path readers might not constitute a large number. One of the posts with the most engagements is a community vote on the best PC wargames; two years old, it has 144 comments and a closed comment section, so you could probably extrapolate a rough guess on readers versus commenters to see how popular the site is.
Tim would make the occasional comment about his past misadventure, but generally seemed to just carry on. Others would fight for or against him in other corners of the internet, but publicly, Tim seemed done with the whole thing and happy to just get back to writing about games.
The most blatant reference was an A2Z at the start of this year. No longer than any other entry (remember, he’s filling out 26 entries in a week, they’re usually just snippets), the entry “P is for Pointless provocation” in its entirety:

If, after my bruising departure from RPS in 2020, I had decided to start work on a “cathartic” retro FPS about gunning down dogmatic ‘trans allies’, I hope someone – a friend, colleague, or family member – would have taken me to one side and said “Tim, WTF are you doing?”. Unfortunately, no-one seems to have urged Norwegian coder Sandra Moen to think again. If they had perhaps the nasty Terfenstein 3D wouldn’t have made it onto Steam.

Tim’s back, baby! But it’s not him! But it is!
In a strange, quite dickish move, an RPS writer recycled an old Flare Path to come up with “The 25 best simulation games on PC”, with the writer credited… even though it was copied from Tim’s 2015 article. Tim called it out in an A2Z, as “H is for Hire a new sim correspondent, you cheapskates”, and that really sums it up – they were not rewriting the list, rearranging it, or updating it, they were literally copying the original list over and slapping a new author’s name on it.
If you click the above link, you’ll see that the article now has Tim as the author, changed retroactively (again). That in itself added a new element of drama, as readers who showed up after the edit were surprised by a new article from Mr Flare Path himself. Though it says “updated” in 2022, the giveaway is that the comments are predominantly from 7 years ago, when it was originally posted. One commenter, who I’ll take at their word, seemed to be witnessing the Stalin-esque rewriting of history in real time:

Wow, I just saw that Tim Stone's name has been removed. He was there as author when I first saw it this morning, with a note about it being updated by someone else. Now his name has been fully removed as the original author. I don't know what to say, but it feels icky to rewrite history like that, very 1984.
Update - now it says article by Holly, Additional Contributions by Tim Stone. Still not accurate (seems to be the reverse or reality) but at least the original author's name is in there somewhere again.

(Not calling anyone over there a tyrant or communist or anything, merely referencing that infamous photo where people are removed one by one as they fall afoul of the Stalin regime. In this instance, taking Tim’s work and crediting to someone else, then crediting Tim in addition to the new writer, then finally just calling it a Tim article.)
People noticed that the “updated” tag was the last attempt to hide in plain sight, since there was nothing updated about the list. It was identical to the one posted by Tim in 2015. And the clue was that, according to RPS, no simulation game had managed to crack the list since 2015; the “youngest” game on the list was 7 years old (now 8), a title shared by Farming Simulator 15 and Train Simulator 15.
15, of course, being the year both games released and the year Tim wrote the list.
An odd move to dig up the bones of the past, both the article and Tim’s involvement with RPS, for a single cheap parlour trick. Needless to say, if you search for Tim Stone contributions on RPS now, his “shrine” – a pretty typical A2Z Flare Path – is not his most recent contribution to the site. Instead, it’s “The 25 best simulation games on PC” from 8 years ago.
Fittingly, in the comment section below, the most recent post is by someone seemingly oblivious to the drama surrounding Tim Stone, RPS and trans rights. They’re instead complaining that two other motor racing games were left off the list. And really, there’s probably no better tribute to the community.

To preface this, I don't have a lot of friends at the moment. Or more accurately I have zero friends now if you counted them. At other moments in my life, I suppose it was the same story. I always had difficulty with other kids my age, particularly coming off the wrong way to people. I've always been told how unapproachable I am. And to be honest being told so didn't help me be less unapproachable. It just sorta made me more unapproachable. Like I became worse out of spite or something. Idk. I don't really want to get into why I am because I'm sure you could care less. Thankfully, through all of it, Emily was always there. Me and her, ever since our families introduced us around the time we were in the 1st grade, were attached at the hip. I can't really explain what was different about our interaction. But it just was, we clicked instantly. She was a breath of fresh air from the usual reaction other people illicit in me and the reaction I illicit in others.
Emily, possibly through what I guess was just magic or fate, "got me" like no one else ever did or has since. We did everything together throughout our years. We were on the same soccer and basketball teams together. We always submitted science experiments to our school fair under the same related theme. We ate together. Shopped together. Both of us really liked the same kind of manga and video games growing up as well. We talked about the same things together. Our fears. Our hopes for the future. The things that made us mad. About how other people treated us. About how we felt about the world. About our families and how they frustrated us, how they didn't try to understand us. Best of all we were the spitting image of each other in many ways with subtle differences. We had always been told by everyone, by parents and family, or teachers and such that we could be mistaken for twin sisters. And I loved that, and loved that about her. It felt life affirming every time I thought about it. I often look in the mirror and question why I'm like the way that I am, and why I'm off putting to people. And I wish deeply I could make myself the opposite of who I am for others' sake.
But she made me feel like there was nothing wrong with me ultimately. She looked just like me in many ways, and had made a real effort to reach out to me in a way that I took towards. And it just made me feel like I wasn't "wrong" for existing the way that I did. I just existed, like her, but unlike her existed in a way that wasn't like her. And that was okay, for both of us. I guess what I'm saying is that it made me feel loved in that truly heart warming way that TV shows and anime always tried to trick us into thinking lifelong friendship was going to be like. But I was there for it all the way. I was just glad to find out that a friendship like that was real and not a made up fantasy. We stayed the best of friends through middle and high school. Through college, through our internships, through our semesters abroad, and we were both so happy to find out that we could end up working our first jobs out of college at the same place. We both got hired to work as consultants for the same energy firm in the Southeast. I was happy again that she would be there for me, and that again I wouldn't have to bear the pain of getting used to a new place, a new way of having to do things around others.
And then tonight happened. She texted me out of the blue. She usually does, and I always love that because it's like being suddenly sucked into another adventure by my best friend all the time just when isolation, loneliness and other things I'm feeling start to creep in too deeply. She was at the local pond that was shared by our two apartment complexes. She told me the geese were walking their little goslings around the perimeter of the water and wanted me to come watch with her and feed them. And of course, I snapped at the opportunity to watch cute baby geese with my best friend on a lovely, calm night. And for a time it was good, and the little goslings were silly and adorable following around the big geese all awkwardly like they do. I watched their little reflections dance in the water back dropped by the moon's cascading and rippling image portrayed in it. And I smiled as we laughed about the stupid things at our new job and the difficulties we've both mutually encountered dealing with the other people who work there. And then she put her hand on my knee and broke my concentration on the comfort I was feeling in that moment with her. And I looked at her as she said "Hey hun, you know I'm not really here right?" with this sweet, understanding, and empathetic smile paired with the same reassuring eyes that had befriended me all those years ago.
I murmured something desperate and unintelligible out of my lips. I felt strangely panicked but utterly exhausted sitting there on the public bench with her. I felt like I had been grasping at something my entire life like a rat on a wheel, only it was a feeling which had overtaken me suddenly as though I had always known and felt it even though this was most certainly the first time I had ever reckoned with it. And I stared at her. And stared at her. And stared and stared. And the blank air mixed with the night's backdrop that surrounded us overtook where she had been. Where her face was now slowly stood nothing. Where her hair used to dangle right in front of me so close I could reach out and bat it away like a cat, now stood still oxygen and an empty seat beside me. There was no hand on my knee. And there had never been. She faded out until transparency over took her, and then just to be extra cruel to me reality made sure to remind me that there had never even been any such transparency because there was nothing to make transparent to begin with.
She was gone, and I wanted to cry. And I did, for a very long time until the goslings and their mother came to me wanting bread I did not have to give them since she was the one who had brought it originally. And I felt sorry for them because of that, and I guess more so for me, which is selfish but I did. I was angry. I was dead and dying inside. I was aching. And I was tear stricken. I messaged my mom and realized something for the first time in my life I wish that I had realized far earlier. My contact that is labeled as "Mom" in my phone is not my mom's phone number. Or better yet the mom that I thought was "Mom" never had a phone number because like Emily she never existed. And that same logic can be extended to my father, my brother, sister and other immediate family members due to the same following reason. The phone number listed as "Mom" in my phone is and has always been the number belonging to Emily's mother.
And this is for the simple fact that Emily's mother has always been my mother. Emily's father has always been my father, and so on. You get me. And I always knew this, I just chose to never acknowledge it as fact. When I said me and Emily had been introduced at a very young age to each other, the reality was (as I realize it has always been now), that when I was very young I made up Emily as an imaginary friend that was so real to me that my family had encouraged me to truly think and continue to think of her as real. And through all that encouragement, I was able to repress the subconscious part of me that knew it was fake. I had created a family of "lesser" people who I thought weren't as great as my real parents because I knew that being the off putting, weird, and unliked daughter of such a happy and admired family didn't make sense from a superficial point of view. I suppose looking back on it now, it's a point of view they shared.
And for a while, I guess it worked. I'm not angry at them. I'm only sad now that it stopped working and desperate to know why it did. Why my friend disappeared, why I did it to myself. Why I let the one person who made me happy all my life slip away. And now she's calling me. That woman. The one that birthed me and encouraged me to believe I wasn't hers, but instead the daughter of someone imaginary. Someone who it made more sense for someone of my caliber to be born out of. And I don't pick up. I'm just staring at these two little goslings here curling up next to each other wishing I could imagine myself as one of them. It stops ringing and I'm looking at the text message I just got. "Emily are you there? Did you tell her? Please call me NOW please before you do anything." It says. Thank you. I miss you. And I don't know why you had to go, and I wish you didn't. But the fact is that you're now gone and I can't have you back. But you did something for me in your own way, in a way that I'm sure you felt could help. Like I said, thank you.

Sorry but it's a mess of a movie. When I watched it in theater it was one of my best experiences ever, but the more I watched it at home the more flaws and things to get upset about I found. I'll start with the stupid "MCU humor". Characters cracking jokes in the worst moments possible, and it's always dad jokes/jokes that don't land. It's obnoxious. How hard it is to just keep it serious and not have every single character be a bad stand-up comedian? Since I'm on this topic I would like to say, the character "Sam" could have easily been cut from the movie. Why? Because he only serves two purposes: Exposition, and comedic relief. And he ends up being a bit annoying. Even the movie is self-aware about this because of that scene where Mark says "Does anyone else know where it is" , just so he can find a excuse to not be around Sam. Mark represents the audience in that scene. We just don't wanna see this guy on screen anymore because he's just so annoying and pointless.
During that scene at Mark's house, I always try to imagine what it would go like without Sam. And guess what, nothing changes. They could just have Graham and Serizawa deliver the exposition needed to push the plot and with a bonus of not having any jokes. Anyway, moving on.
Second thing is some weird one-liners, that feel more like the Godzilla-obsessed Director speaking, rather than the characters. Here's the most prominent examples:
- "Mothra. Queen of the Monsters."
That's just the director talking. Why? Because at no point in the movie we get a explanation as to why Mothra is "The Queen of the Monsters." It's just a throw away line. "Ackchually they call her that in the ARG". Yeah but movies should be made for all audiences to enjoy and understand, not just the redditor nerds who follow every single ARG. Doctor Chen calling Mothra "Queen of the Monsters" is more like Michael Dougherty informing us what he wants his version of Mothra to be. The problem is, he doesn't "display" Mothra as the queen of the monsters. All she does in the movie is show up, make a cocoon, show the protagonists where godzilla is, fight rodan for like 10 seconds, then sacrifice herself so Godzilla can get a power up. How does that make her "Queen of the Monsters" ? At least movie's title, King Of the Monsters, has a payoff, because Ghidorah becomes the "King" by controlling the titans, then Godzilla becomes the King at the end after he kills Ghidorah and the titans literally bow to him like humans would to a King.
Mothra has none of that, so there's no point in making a line calling her Queen, that's just Michael fanboying over his own character.
- "That makes sense we are a bunch of horny murderous carnivores."
What? How the hell would the titans know that? I just hate this plot point about the missing ORCA frequency being humans. It makes no sense. Why would the Titans, these 300 feet + beings, think that we, little ants, are Apex predators? And again this line it's just Michael talking, it's just him being preachy and probably thinking he's super big brain for saying "Humanity bad". My guy you released this movie 1 year after Infinity War. The idea of killing human population to help the environment is still fresh in the audience's mind. You are not breaking new ground here.
Moving on. I think everyone agrees right now Emma Russell is just an awful character. She's just completely delusional, her redemption arc doesn't hit because you remember she's the reason millions died around the world. It takes her sooo much time to realize "Hey maybe this is a bad idea". Also gotta love her logic:
"My son died to a titan. So i'll unleash every titan monarch has ever discovered so I can save the world. Yes, this is definitely what my son would want, millions of families going through the pain of loosing a loved one to a giant monster"
She's just causing San Francisco over and over again in the name of the greater good. And the movie is self-aware about this and doesn't do anything, it shows characters pointing out how she is crazy but she never realizes it herself. Also it's so weird how she just team ups with Jonah off-screen. Even after reading Aftershock it doesn't make sense. So this guy shows up, kills a bunch of her colleagues, and the scene cuts with her looking at the guy in terror and protecting her daughter. When we cut back to her how is she? Just working along the guy who just killed her colleagues. Why? Because humanity bad. It feels like there's scenes missing. Showing her being tricked by Jonah or something similar, because it's so weird how she just teams up with him.
Also the movie implies she has been planning this since 2014? Building the orca, indoctrinating Madison into going along with her genocidal plan, if Jonah didn't showed up, she would probably eventually do it on her own, she would become the eco-terrorist. So at this point, why not just have Jonah be the sole antagonist? Have him being a monarch member who was affected by the events of 2014, have him create the orca, and have him going around freeing titans. It's so weird.
Let's talk about the monsters a little bit. Godzilla is way too "Tohosized". He's got the classic plates, the classic roar mashed together with the 2014 roar. I already said in my post about GareGoji, Michael Dougherty didn't wanted "The Monsterverse Godzilla" , he just wanted to pull Toho's Godzilla into the monsterverse. Jesus why can't you just let Godzilla be different, let this Godzilla be his own thing? We had something new and unique in 2014 but then Michael had to come along and go "Nuh huh can't have that, we only have old stuff."
Rodan is a punching bag. That's it.
Mothra is a power up and a light show, that's it.
At least Ghidorah is fine. Feels world-ending. Feels like he could actually win this. Feels new. It's good to see him controlling stuff and not being a pawn for once.
Something I think the movie lacked was some build up for the main kaiju tho. Mothra is shoved right in your face at the first 5 minutes. Ghidorah has a little bit of build up and some suspense, and Rodan is the worst in the whole movie, because he has no build up, no foreshadowing. Emma and Jonah just choose him just because. It makes him feel no different than any other titan. It's like... they could have awaken Behemoth, Tiamat, Abbadon, Leviathan, any of them first, nothing would change. I wish there was some build up, like a scene with Jonah and Emma discussing which titan they wanna awake next, and they choose Rodan because he's the strongest one after Ghidorah (not counting Godzilla because he's already "awake") and because of that he would cause the most trouble for Monarch.
It's clear this was done as a "counter-measure" against the 2014 criticism, about the MUTOs taking 40 minutes to show up, while Godzilla takes like one hour, but at least it had a payoff. This is what people don't get. It was about building suspense, mystery, tease, then finally payoff. KOTM just goes straight for the payoff, it's like skipping straight to the dessert. Movie just wants to rush through everything as fast as possible because it is afraid people will dislike it if they tease the kaiju.
Another thing I hate about the kaiju is this stupid "good radiation" and "planet healing" thing which is just so vague and thrown away, might as well call it magic. It happens because Emma said it happens, no evidence needed. "Life is triggered by their radiation". Radiation is supposed to kill life. Do they produce a new type of radiation that does the opposite? We don't know, movie doesn't bother explaining it. Not to mention the radiation being inconsistent. One time we can approach "radioactive monsters" with no problem. But then other times we gotta use hazmat suits. We can't approach this highly radioactive temple, but we can approach Godzilla who was inside that temple, took a nuke to the face, and is about to turn into a nuke himself. Yeah that's completely safe and completely different situation. And then there's the fact this goes completely against Godzilla's reason for existing, as a warning about nuclear power and radiation.
A nuke saves the day, and radioactive abominations humanity and nature and animals. All of this happened in a movie featuring a character that only exists thanks to the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. Let that sink in.
Off topic comment: I hate how Graham's death doesn't affect Serizawa. He saw his colleague, no, his student, who he was mentoring for who knows how many years, being eaten alive by a three-headed dragon. And what he does? Falls to his knees, not a single tear. Then looks at her photo for 5 seconds, still no tears. That's it. That's all the impact Graham's death brings to the movie. This is just Michael not knowing what to do with her character. This is the first rewatch where it occurred to me: "Man... Serizawa should be wanting to kill Emma." Because Graham's death was her fault. He should be wanting to kill her for revenge. Yet he's barely antagonistic about her. "We will ask her. When we find her. For now, the search continues." WHAT? That's it? That's all you have to say about the person responsible for your loved one's death? He doesn't even mention Graham when he's about to sacrifice himself. Movie just forgets about it.
Alan Jonah is just boring. He is a little threatening at first but then calms down and leaves the script. He just "aight imma head out". "We got everything we need" What the hell you talking about? Where was it established he and his team were after something? He just leaves the plot for no reason, it's like the writers decided "Yeah sorry no idea what to do with him in the 3rd act, let's just put him aside but keep him alive so we can make a credits scene."
There's so many little things I wanna talk about it but I think this post is getting a bit too long, so i'll just list them without making a full paragraph about it:
- All the super saturated colors and filters hurt my eyes. Please make it stop. Screen is always all red, all blue, all green, all dark. Contrast and lighting are all over the place.
- Who decided to make a fortune cookie joke after Serizawa's amazing speech to Mark? Why ruin the moment, why not just have him stop talking and Mark act like "Damn he's right" and keep the scene moving?
- SHOW ANDREW'S DEATH YOU COWARDS! Kidding, but still. Movie would have a lot more emotional weight if they showed Mark and Emma finding Andrew's lifeless body. If i was making the movie I would add flashback scenes showing that, when Mark is knocked by Ghidorah, and show it at the start of the movie as well, then make the moment they are looking for Madison "mirror" Andrew's scene, also add some lines to make Emma's and Mark's reactions during that scene feel more genuine, like "Please God not again..." that would be a lot better
- Why the stupid cutaways, why do you feel the need of showing Madison going to her house... opening the door... going inside... closing the door, laying down... WHEN YOU JUST ESTABLISHED SHE'S IN THE HOUSE?! Just cut from Emma and Mark saying "Home", to Madison already inside, covering her ears while the house shakes, then quickly cut back to the fight.
- Sorry but Mothra vs Rodan was complete BS and she only won because plot. Rodan should have shredded her the second they collided. Either make their fight fair or have them team up with Goji
- Thanks for wasting Burning Godzilla and turning him into a Deus Ex Machina and a Power Up. Godzilla took a fire flower from Mario.
- Gotta love them creating 17 new titans then show them through tiny tv screens. Also they wasted what should have been the Endgame of the MV, all titans trying to take over the world.
You already know my only positives about the movie: soundtrack and sound design. One or two cool cinematography moments.

My(24F) boyfriend(31M) of a year recently asked me to move in about 3 months ago. He let his aunt move into his two bedroom apartment two years ago because her husband of 4 years passed away. While living with them I’ve realized his aunt is super clingy and needy to my boyfriend, and before you guys say I’m being dramatic, she has literally told me to my face that she wanted to kill herself because he was in an argument with her that day, she also makes super odd comments like “I love that boy, I would do anything for that boy and everything I do is for him.” or express her jealousy of me when he comes home on his work break to visit me saying “he’s never come to visit me on his break”, or talks to me about me and him going on dates saying “he doesn’t take me out to dinner or movies”, and in my head I’m like “uh yeah maybe cause we are DATING?” She has even tried multiple times to manipulate me behind his back trying to trick me into believing he wants me gone and then tried to guilt trip me because he doesn’t spend as much time with her. She treats him like a servant such as when she asks him to do chores for her that she is perfectly capable of doing herself. She lies for attention constantly like just the other day she lied to him saying her work forced her to come in on her day off otherwise she’d be “fired”, he called them and figured out that way, she tries to lie to him saying I’m being mean to her whenever I have done nothing except try and be kind since the beginning. Not sure what to do with her at this point, she’s also a terrible house mate, constantly getting mad and slamming doors and cabinets whenever he gives me more attention than her, she literally has meltdowns like a child where she does this ugly yelling moan cry and has snot dripping off her face. She is so negative constantly repeating the same negative crap over and over I don’t know what to do anymore.
TLDR: My boyfriends aunt is obsessed with him and expects him to do stuff a spouse should do for her, she tries to end our relationship and manipulate him behind my back.

I’m mildly autistic (Asperger’s Disease) and don’t realize the way I communicate at times. I’m being told I get loud or that I treat people like they’re an idiot. I feel like I’m ruining the best relationship I’ve ever had, and really want to be better. What are some tips and tricks to be better at how I communicate with people?

Taught my dog a couple tricks today! We finally got paw down, she’s working on this “jump” it’s like she sits on her butt with her paws like a bunny it’s super cute but I won’t do that often so it doesn’t hurt her. I got this idea from someone on here I don’t know who so credits to them if they see this post! But the trick is like you put a treat in your hand and close it every time they try and get the treat without you letting them or something, then once they make eye contact with you give them the treat. Anything else I could teach her! (She’s a beagle btw) she knows sit, stay, paw, “jump”, hop up (for agility), lay down, spin, that’s all I believe.

To try to make this post as short as possible, my partner and I have been talking marriage things, I've always wanted an outdoor fall wedding, and we've gone back and forth with whether we want to have a tiny ceremony this year, or a slightly less tiny ceremony next year, but whichever we end up doing, it's got me wanting to go into planning mode. Some details I'm looking at but not entirely sold on:

• Black and red or black and purple as the colors, I'd be happy with either
• As much made-by-us decor as possible, centerpieces, guest gifts, invitations, maybe even cake, doing everything by hand as we possibly can
• Small means, including plus ones and assuming everyone actually shows up, between the two of us is about 40 guests on the guest list
• No set-in-stone budget, but obviously, low as possible is great

I've thought about wedding day things since I was a kid, so there is a level of importance to it, enough to not just throw everything together overnight and oh well if it doesn't work out, but I can say that I'm not looking for some pristine, traditional event. We've looked at some outdoor venues, debated air bnb for a venue (I'm iffy about that one, even though it's much cheaper, apparently it's getting hard for hosting parties, and neighbors and all). I've browsed dresses on Amazon for less than $200 and based on review photos, for a one-time use they're honestly pretty decent, enough to try out and return if it's not what I want. For guest favors, I love the idea of old-school trick-or-treat baskets. Center pieces, handmade, lanterns with flowers and candles inside unless I happen across another DIY idea that I like more. My biggest worry is I'm going to find myself in this limbo of dark and goth-y, kitschy cutesy Halloween, and general fall that would be battling each other.
Has anyone had a small wedding with that sort of theme? Where did your budget end up, and what advice do you have based on how yours went? I'm going out on a limb and saying it would definitely be next year - as enticing as a Friday the 13th wedding in October is. Realistically though, I don't know how much could get done in less than 5 months.

8 week old GSD female, and we are just getting in the swing of potty training. I’ve seen a lot of videos where folks have trained their dog to ring a small bell hanging from the doorknob, or next to the door.
I’d like to take that a step further and use a small button that when pressed, makes a doorbell tone/chime.
What I’m doing presently is before we go outside, I’ll take her paw and gently press the button, causing it to ding dong.
Then, we immediately go outside where I place her in some short grass to nose around for a spot, and finally, she does her thing. When we come in, she gets a small treat.
When she makes a mistake in the house, there’s no hard feelings or getting upset. A quick cleanup, but no treat or button press. Positive reinforcement.
My question is, is this the correct way to go about teaching her to signal when she wants to go out? Or am I making a mistake somehow?

I’ve had Meniere’s since 2011, bilateral since 2021. The last few months have been rough with vertigo episodes more than 50% of the days since February, plus a new headache that’s been here all day, every day since late March. The only thing that stops the headache is caffeine, but that sets off vertigo, so pick your poison. I can’t take benzos anymore, so my only vertigo relief options are minimally effective OTC meds and promethazine.
A new neurologist I saw has a primary theory that does not link the headaches and Meniere’s, but it isn’t something that can be proven either way. The Meniere’s specialist (neurotologist) who has been treating me since 2012 thinks the headaches and Meniere’s are definitely related, but he didn’t really seem to be listening during my appointment and charted some things incorrectly. He’s suspected a migraine connection to my Meniere’s all along, but none of the vestibular migraine treatments we tried years ago had any effect.
I’m back on some vestibular migraine meds and trialing a round of oral steroids now, hoping the combo will address the vertigo, headaches, or both. The situation is a little different than in the past; hopefully the meds will work better this time. I’m afraid that there aren’t any new tricks up their sleeves if these options fail again.
I don’t have other Meniere’s specialists in my area, and getting a second opinion is apparently outrageously expensive if it isn’t someone who you’re going to for actual treatment. We’re hoping to move next year and we’ll be within 5-6 hours of the Cleveland Clinic and a couple other major facilities, so maybe I should try to hold out till then and see if they have any better ideas once they’re in network for my insurance.
I’m not really sure what I’m looking for here. I’m tired and discouraged and not sure what to do next if this round of meds doesn’t help. This disease can be brutal at times, and this has been one of those seasons for me.

I worked with ychild to get her to clean her room. i did not help her but tried to tell her step by step on cleaning. ochild found out and started cleaning his room. He did well but missed something small. I asked him to finish this one section and he flipped out. I did not yell at him but did start to become heated because he was throwing a fit like a toddler. spouse came bursting into the room yelling at me for yelling at ochild.I think ochild knows he just can just yell and stomp to get spouse's attention and I will get in trouble and he will get to do whatever he wants. This is when I finally made up my mind that the only option is divorce. I cannot think that this marriage is fixable now. I did the dishes, cooked supper, cleaned the living room, swept, and vacuumed. spouse asked me when was the last time I cleaned the toilets. spouse slept with the kids.

spouse spent all day in her room working on her school work. I got the dash cams working in both of our vehicles. Worked with the dogl while walking with her harness. I put up all the laundry except for her shirts because there is no room in our closet and we are out of hangers. I picked up all the torn up trash and dog poop in the backyard. Did a water change in the aquarium. ychild has torn up her room that she cleaned the other day. I spent about an hour outside playing with ychild and ochild. I managed to get the kids in bed around 10-10:30pm. spouse announced that she was taking a bath. At the end of the bath I went in. She started talking about how after everyone went to bed she was going to stay up in the livingroom to work on school. She then told me i came in there for a reason and to tell her what was going on. So I asked if I could go down on her that night. She got angry and told me "does not need to be taken care of." I closed the door and left but I could hear her still going off on me. I feel deflated and unloved again. I don't know why I keep trying to bring the spark back in the marriage. spouse slept in our bed last night and ychild joined us. Today I cooked a breakfast supper and made pizza for lunch. I woke up at 3:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep.

I started this journal and decided to try and write about the previous 2 weeks events. My goal is now to record the things I do in the house, my interactions with spouse and the kids, where spouse sleeps, and anything noteworthy on a daily basis. This morning I tried to talk to spouse (she sighed and looked annoyed when I started talking) about an interaction I had with ychild on our way to get breakfast this morning. ychild decided to talk in a way that makes it sound like she is cussing even when she isnt. I told her what I told ychild and spouse snapped at me when I tried to get into the details. If I know I am going to talk to spouse about something non-spontaneous I'm going to try and start recording the interactions. I cooked supper. spouse slept in our bed last night, ychild joined us after waking up.

Today we went to the state fair. It started out as usual when we go on the trip. late start, blaming, getting mad, yelling, her being upset. After getting to the fair the day went well. We didn't argue very much and the day was actually nice but long. Wife had a school meeting at 5. Went out to eat for supper then ice cream with the kids. As usual fight started when the kids only wanted to sit with Wife. Get home kids bathed and put in bed. Wife bought a special deodorant to help with smells in the breast/pubic area (something she is self conscious about) I helped apply it and try and kiss her breasts. She turns away and says she is cold. Helped wife put together kids lunch and backpacks for the next morning. Take the trash out. I shower and notice my wife isn't in bed when I get out so I assumed she was sleeping with the kids. She was sitting in the living room in the dark with her phone on facebook. Wife said she was going to bed but didn't want to "do anything." I go to bed also so I can spend some time with her. Once again I try and cuddle with her. I roll next to her and place my hand on her leg. I don't move it because it tickles or annoys her. After 5 min without her trying to cuddle and with her face buried in facebook I roll over. She can tell I was upset and said that she didn't try and cuddle cause my arm was pinning her down. This isn't true it was only on her leg and i wasn't applying any pressure. YChild ended up in our bed during the night.

Went to work today. no goodmorning or goodbye kiss. Worked all day, picked up the kids, brought them home and emptied their backpacks. Wife got home about 10min later. No hey how was your day. no hello kiss. Nothing. She disappeared into the bedroom again. Worked with Ychild on her letters because she isn't doing well in school. had a breakfast supper. Took the dogs for a walk. made OChild lunch. She complained because I had not yet done the dishes. Waited till the last minute to get their backpacks/clothes together for the morning. Complained because things were missing. feels like I never hear anything positive only ever complaints. Went to bed and wife finally makes it in. I don't really attempt to cuddle just put my arm on her leg and accidentally scratched. Thought I had made her mad so I pulled my hand back. A few minutes later and she rolled over and spooned with me (little spoon.) Its been years since this happened. Is she doing that because of my persistence and she is trying to make me happy? or is it because of a positive change. Only time will tell (success.)

Woke up and wife wasn't in the bed. I don't know if she woke up early or went to lay down with the kids in the night. She was in a mood when i got up. Complained because I hadn't put up the kids school laundry when it came out of the dryer so the clothes are now wrinkly. I let myself relax last night and did not do as many chores. I need to work on that and try and stay busy. ran into trouble picking the kids up from school. Their school fund raisers were supposed to come out with the kids. Ochild did not bring them out because he didn't listen to instructions from his teacher. Wife had to swing by and pick them up because I was already on the way home and the line was seriously backed up. Got home did the dishes, cooked supper, folded the laundry and put a load of laundry in, and gathered and took the trash out. Wife spent the evening once again in our bedroom but this time it was working on activities to help our daughter learn better for school. She did have a school meeting at 7 pm. I thought the kids would shower on the next day so I did not tell them to bath, but was overruled agrily by wife and gave my daughter a shower because her hair was dirty. Kids got to bed 1 hour late because wife kept overruling me on telling them to go lay down. After kids went to bed I got on my computer to play games. I put too large a load in the dryer and it took a long time to dry so I was not able to put it up before bed time. Wife went into the kitchen to make the kids lunches. I asked if I could do anything to help and she said no. I layed down in bed a little later than I was planning. Wife was very angry when she opened the dryer because I hadn't taken the clothes out and folded them, I had washed our large pile of clothes instead of the kids 1 day of clothes, when I folded the laundry I didn't put the towels in the bathroom because i did not want to interrupt her meeting so she yelled at me because the towels were not in the bathroom when she went to take a shower. I was berated very badly and once again felt unappreciated, emasculated, and unloved (hated maybe.) She said that I was doing more around the house only because I felt our marriage was failing (in a sarcastic tone of voice) and I wanted to be praised. I am doing it because it helps with my depression and honestly I am trying to get into the habit for when I inevitably divorce her. I turned off my emotions and went to sleep. No kiss goodnight and even saying goodnight.

Woke up at 3:30 am alone in bed. I assume the wife slept with the kids. I couldn't go back to sleep so I laid in bed. Closer to the alarm time of 4:30ish I got ready for work. When my wife came in I had to say good morning,she wasn't even going to talk to me. I had to initiate the conversation. I left 5 min early because I didn't want to be around her. I had to kiss/tell her goodbye which is usual. I'm not sure the last time the morning routine was initiated by her. several times in our marriage I have experimented with how long we would go without a kiss or an I love you that wasn’t initiated by me. Usually its several weeks and I almost feel like seeing how long it would take this time. Got home with the kids and stopped for our weekly
treat. Wife did not spend as much time in the bedroom as usual. I was tired so I did not feel like doing any cleaning. I cooked supper and we watched a show during supper. Afterwards she joined me and the kids in walking the dogs. We got back and watched a few more shows and then I helped her with lunches and getting the kids things together. Anytime something didn't go perfect she always had little comments and blamed me (like when she couldn't find Ychilds clothes or if a tape was missing.) all in all, the day wasn't bad and wasn't good either. I went to bed a little early and she decided to stay up and watch one of her own movies. I did not kiss her or say I love you. She did not say anything about it.

Woke up at a normal time. Wife and Ychild were in bed with me. The morning went ok and Ychild was very chipper and loving. Got home from work with the kids and went out picked up groceries and ate out. we stopped at some yard sales and had a decent fun time with minimal arguing. Got home and put up the groceries. wife's parents were coming over the next day and "we" cleaned the house. I did the dishes, cleaned the counters, vacuumed and shampooed the carpets, picked up the living room, cleaned off the fireplace, put up the clothes in the living room. It was 10:30 I kept telling the kids to go to bed and Wife kept overriding me. Telling me its the weekend and the kids should be able to stay up. I think 10:30 is too late for an 8 and 5 year old to stay up. I told wife I was tired and was going to bed. She complained that she was going to have to stay up and clean the house by herself. She said i didn't do enough. The only thing she could come up with when i asked her what i didn't do was keep the entertainment center clean and organized. Apparently i'm fine living in an empty house. Funny when she was a stay at home mom after she got laid off and then during the pandemic, the house was never cleaned. She stayed home all day everyday and never cleaned nor cooked supper or did the dishes. I feel like I am bending over backwards not only am I not receiving credit for what I have done. I am actually getting complaints for not doing enough. She eventually went to bed with the kids while I slept in my bed alone again. Not that I wanted her company after making me feel like that.

Got up around 7:00. I finished cleaning the carpets in the living room, cleaned the trash from the carpets, and swept the bathroom. We went looking at garage sales. Parents got there a little late in the day and spent more time with her sister than they did with us which is usually. I tried to get the kids to go to bed at a decent hour but was once again overruled by my Wife. She said the kids are on a school break and should be able to stay up later. I agreed but didnt think staying up till 11:30 at night should be the answer. They should be in bed at 9:30 and asleep at 10:00. Needless to say Wife slept with the kids.

Today we spent a great deal of the day traveling and going to yard and estate sales. It was a decent day with minimal arguing except for right before supper trying to get the kids to not cry when we wont buy them everything they want. Wife said I am fuel to the fire for the kids. It upset me that she constantly bad mouths my parenting style. Apparently not putting up with children throwing fits and actually punishing them instead of just letting everything play out without saying anything is a bad day. A thunderstorm came late in the evening and none of us went to bed before it passed. Wife slept with the kids again.

Another thunderstorm rolled in around bedtime. Wife slept with the kids again. That's 6 days straight sleeping in my bed alone.

Woke up at 3:30am got up but went back to bed and eventually sleep around 4:30-5:00. Woke up with Ychild in bed. I took the kids to several stores today and changed the water in the aquarium . Wife got back home and let the kids play. Once my wife got home I cooked supper and washed the dishes while she disappeared into the bedroom. Went back there and she was just laying in bed saying she was tired while watching tv. I convinced her to come and eat supper with the family at the table. Afterwards she went back to the bedroom for more bed and tv. She would rather spend time laying in bed and watching tv than spend a little time with me. I have been all alone with 2 kids all day (actually for the last 4 days.) Ochild convinced her to come out of the bedroom to show her something on his tv. I don't know what to do and no longer feel connected to my wife, I feel like I am all alone. Wife came out and before laying down with the kids mentioned I havent kissed her goodnight in a few days and to come kiss her. It was just a smooch but at least she took notice. I told her it feels like she wanted me to do that lately.She told me she was just stressed and tired from school work. She slept with the kids again tonight.

Woke up with Ychild in bed with me. Got the kids up and fed them breakfast. Wife got home early and we went to an estate sale. I made hotdogs for supper. Kids went to bed late. Wife complained about them not being asleep. I told her what she said about them being on a school break and me getting in trouble with her earlier for putting them to bed before 10:00 pm. It didn't matter, it was still my fault and still upset. Wife slept with the kids again.

Wife got up earlier than me. We left the house around 9 to go look at some neighborhood garage sales. had a decent day in the car with minimal fussing. Got home a little later than planned. Had Ychild start cleaning her messy room. Wife started complaining about the messy house again saying she is the only one who cleans. Apparently I am not doing a good enough job. What a surprise. did some laundry today. got the kids to bed around 9:30. They were constantly out of bed until 11:00pm with different things. I was getting upset with them and my wife strolled in and took over as usual as soon as the kids started crying. She actually came to bed with me tonight. I tried to cuddle with her but as usual she huffed as soon as I put my arm around her. She said she doesn't mind me cuddling, she just doesnt like it when I move my hand. She made no effort to return the love. I am glad for these interactions because it reminds me that I am not loved and why I want a divorce.

Woke up around 6:00 am with a stomach ache and bloated. Down to 238 lbs. Wife spent the day in the bedroom working on school. I did some laundry, trimmed the trees in the yard, and put out bulk pickup items. Cooked chicken fajitas for supper. Wife came down sick with something and went to bed early. Kids were asleep by 9:00. Wife was asleep by the time I came to bed.

We lay down and I decided to try cuddling again. I rolled over to her and she actually reciprocated. She put her leg around mine and held my hand. It felt really nice.

Went to work. It was an uneventful morning and work. Picked up the kids and called my wife to meet us at DQ for a treat. We got home and my wife wasn't feeling well. She didn't eat supper. Me and my kids took the dogs for a walk while my wife stayed behind and took a bath. We watched netflix until bed again. Got the kids in bed on time. When the kids threw a fit when they wanted Wife to cover them up she said something in a low voice and refused to tell me what she said. I kept asking her and she finally told me "it's probably why you resent me." I didn't say anything because it was partially true. I do resent her because the kids prefer her, but they only prefer her because she constantly gives in their fits and I do not. So I keep being the bad guy and she get to be the fun yes mom. Later we started working on the kids' lunches. I got a bottled drink off the table and started to open it.She asked if it was old and I said i don't think so. She started to complain at me because she didn't want to give the kids an old drink. I started to explain why I didn't think it was old (the cap still had seals on most of the cap.) She told me I was talking too loud (I wasn't, I was talking in a normal voice.) She told me she didn't need me anymore so I left and went to bed. We went to bed angry with

Woke up still angry at her because it was such a little issue to get mad about. Things like this happen all the time. Little things that don't matter in the long run end up being blown up beyond what it should have. had a decent day at work then went and got the kids. ate at the olive garden. Ochild asked if he could have her phone. I explained to him that he could only have his tablet, not her phone or tablet. He got upset and wife immediately caved and gave him her phone. I explained to my wife that we agreed 2 weeks ago and they haven't had either this entire time. their behavior is much better but she said she isn't feeling well and just didn't want to hear it. i got home and unloaded the groceries. My wife started complaining about me unloading the groceries wrong. Apparently I'm supposed to put them on the table starting at the far end then work down the table from there. Like it makes a difference if you take an extra step either way the entire table is filled up and it doesn't matter which end you start on. Then my wife complained that I hadn't cleaned up the blood drops from the dog yet. I literally was only home for 2 minutes before she got home then we left but it's supposed to be my job to get it done with no time to spare. I cleaned it up and she started complaining that I cleaned it wrong. I used a baby wipe when I should have used clorox wipes. There is litteral pee on the floor and she is worried that the blood wasn't sanitized. Makes no sense. This all happened within 20 minutes. Needless to say she slept with the kids again.

Woke up for overtime on a saturday. i worked 7 hours on a boat on the lake. Come home and the wife is sitting on the couch watching tv and the kids are right next to her zoned out with electronics. she didn't do anything all day and has been binge watching netflix. she said

Had a decent night's sleep. The kids were screaming when I woke up. Kids had a full day of playing. I took Ochild with me when I went to the store and I bought him lunch. We get home and I throw the kids' laundry into the washer. Wife and the kids made a pumpkin into a puppy for
Ochild's book report. I take Ychild to the store to get her own pumpkin. Kids are playing a game with a hula-hoop like mirror-mirror. My son asks the mirror who is the laziest and he puts it up to me. It really hurt my feelings. Wife talked to him and told him all the things I do (dishes, cooking supper, laundry, sweep/mop, vacuuming, gardening, mowing.) She listed all these things. I talked to her about it later and she said "well" like she really thinks I am lazy. She just listed off all the things I do and she talks to me like I am lazy. Ychild threw a fit at bedtime because her required stuffed animal is dirty from the dog. I begin telling her that she needs to take care of it and this wouldn't happen. Wife gets onto me about trying to teach her life lessons. Wife allows ychild to sleep in our bed with us. I don't think any of my lessons will ever stick when wife is there to overrule me and go softer on the kids. At least I didn't sleep alone tonight.

Woke up and went to work. Uneventful day at work. Get the gets and bring them home. I put up the laundry and started a new load. Picked up the living room and then cooked supper (smothered pork chops.) Afterward we walked the dogs (wife got home and was tired so she changed into pajamas) ychild was upset and wants her mommy to walk with us so she got peeved but changed into street clothes and we walked together as a family. We get back and sit on the couch for the next 3 hours watching netflix. Put the kids to bed then finish our netflix binge. After I volunteered to help fix the kids' lunch for the next day. She praised me for the speed that I made their lunch. Unfortunately ychild had spilled something in her lunchbox and I cleaned it. It got wet when I cleaned and my wife flipped out and got in a bad mood. the next 20 min was kicking me out of the kitchen, complained because i forgot to bring ychild's sweater in from the car, upset because i did not put the laundry into the dryer. I went to bed alone.

Woke up with my wife and ychild in bed with me. I started getting ready and my wife started complaining to ychild that she will have to go dig through the laundry basket to get socks because they never get put up. I spent all my time between getting home and cooking supper and putting up laundry. The both of us sat on our butts and watched netflix for hours the previous evening. we could have done those together but we didn't. Instead it's my fault because I didn't do it. Its tiring bending over backwards, feeling like you are doing the brunt of the housework, the only one working, the only one cooking and feeling unappreciated and getting bitched at for minor things. especially the 1st thing in the morning to our ychild within earshot of me. She is very passive aggressive and saying these things to my kids undermines my authority and prevents me from being an effective parent. Its things like this that leads me to believe that's why my son thinks I am lazy. I wonder what she has said to him so that I didn't overhear. I got the kids from school and brought them home. I immediately put up the clothes that had been folded but not put up. I cleaned the fish tank of dead fish and snails. I cooked supper (hamburgers), i wasn't feeling well so we didn't go for a walk, I got an old laptop together for Ochild to use. Wife and I watched TV for about an hour and got on my computer. Went to bed alone.

Woke up alone. Worked 10 hours of overtime. got home and immediately left to go do some halloween stuff at the big church. had a decent time with little arguing. Afterwards I ate at CFLA. Daughter got upset because she wanted to switch seats and I said no. I am tired of giving in
to the kids' every demand. When she started throwing a fit and told her she was about to get a spanking. Wife got upset because I will actually spank them and she thinks it doesn't do any good. The kids only really seem to do this when they know mommy is around cause when it's just me they behave. They know they can always get mommy on their side and turn her against daddy just by crying. The wife stayed in the bedroom working on schoolwork after we got back. The kids stayed up really late (11:30). went to bed alone.

Woke up alone a little later. Wife and ychild had slept with me. We ended up staying home most of the day. Wife stayed in the bedroom working on schoolwork. I played with the kids, swept, vacuumed, did the laundry, cleaned the living room, and cleaned the aquarium. We went to a local church event for trunk or treat and then we took the kids trick or treating down downtown. It was a decent night. We got home and the kids went to bed a little late.

I know that there is a disparity between social and life milestones for us spergs compared to NTs. Dont listen to people on this subreddit or spergs in real life tell you "oh you have time, its too late to worry bout that stuff" or "man your only 21 just realax, I didnt even get my first kiss till i was 26". Dont listen to these people. Its as if they are trying to imply that you are so disabled that you should not be compared to the average age most NTs acheive these things. Im here to let you know that YOU CAN DO IT. You are strong and capable and hardworking. You have probably dealt with immense bullying and loneliness and a bunch of other issues in your life. You are resilient. If you want to achieve these things such as having a large friend group, getting into romantic relationships, losing your virginity, getting your first job, studying for the degrecareer that is your special interest, etc. DONT START LATER START NOW. The earlier you start preparing and trying to achieve these things the better it is for you. I know it is important to unmask and try to be happy with who you are. But it is also as equally as important to try. To work towards what you want. I know it will be hard. I know you will struggle immensely. But please. Try. There is no harm in it. Once you achieve these goals at an earlier age than those stupid spergs saying "bro its ok you dont have to worry until you are 30" it will be immensely more satistfying because you overcame the odds. You beat the curse layed upon you. And even if you dont succeed just be happy with yourslef knowing that you did try. Most people would move one like those spergs who have already given up. But not us. Not us.
Most spergs are afriad that masking and trying to achieve NT lfie goals can be detrimental to our mental health. That is when you balance it with unmasking and "me time." It has worked for me well. When i go to work or try socialising with people at uni/gym/any other place or when i try to flirt with a girl i find cute irl or via messaging, I try to blend in my personality with masking NT social norms. E.g. "hey hows it going" and then CHAINING the conversation further based on context. E.g. at university you will say after that, "whats your degree" and then when they tell you like "engineering, science, etc." you will say "damn we all pre smart" and then associate that with "our asian parents whooping our assess worked out in the end aye?" which makes them laugh. This chaining/associating based on context trick has helped me IMMENSELY. I find that flirting also really comes down to making associations between things. E.g. Your talking to a girl say "damn your real pretty, like selena gomez" or some shit which makes them kinda laugh and feel good about themselves since you compared/associated them to someone else that is positively receieved, etc. I have failed a lot doing this LMAO but at least im happy knowing i tried a lot and have had some successes. You should also aim to improve your appearane. e.g. do skin care go to the gym, etc. It makes a HUGE difference to how people will treat you.
See the main importnat thing with the above, constant improvement strategy is that you balance it with me time/unmasking times. E.g. find some friends you a comfortable unmasking with and try to "cool out" the potential burnout you might recieve from your masking attempts. Maybe you can play video games or go to the gym in your free time, etc. The point being you can do both. You dont just have to choose either trying so hard that you always masking and feel horrible or never trying and always unmasking and not being able to acheive what you want. YOu can do it. You can mask and be happy with yourself. Just balance it with me time. Good luck fellow spergs.

I had to work on the weekend today. Left at 6:30 and got home at 1:30. I stopped off to get a salad for lunch and got home and ate it. Considering I worked all day I sat down and watched tv for 20 min. My wife was cleaning after I got home. I then got up to put up the laundry the wife had left in the chair for the last 2 weeks since the last time I put up the laundry. she then started yelling at me that the only time i help is when she is mad. Honestly I couldn't even tell she was mad because she has been in the same mood for a month already and I couldn't tell the difference. She has been in the mood for the past 4-5 years anyway i've just gotten used to it.

OC wanted to stay home from church on today and then yc did too. I kept them all day and took them to the park at 3:30pm while wife was still at her school working. She found out they went to the park after i told oc to tell her about petting a hamster at the park. She got very angry that i didn't tell her we left the house to go to the park.

Making my life miserable hasn't stopped. We no longer say I love you and no longer say goodnight. I have caught her yelling at the kids multiple times at night,but of course I'm the problem not her. Today I had to work and my wife was taking the kids to the state fair. I unfortunately left my work uniform at home and had to come home to change and take a shower after working out. The wife was still home and gave me a pissed off go to hell look when she opened the door. I got home at the usual time and texted her to tell me when she left so I could have supper ready when they get here so we could be in time for the scouts. She texted back that she would barely have time to get to scouts much less come home and eat supper first. I then texted her ok just swing by and pick me up so we don't waste gas. She left late and told me that she wouldn't have time. This woman controls every aspect of her time when on trips. She could have left early enough for some family time before scouts. I feel like she is trying to alienate me from my kids already. I can tell this is going to be a rough divorce. She went to bed early
and never said goodnight. I can't count the number of times she has gotten mad at me for going to be without telling her goodnight much less I love you. We rarely say love anymore and I never hear a kind word out of her mouth.

This morning as usual I was getting the kids dressed as I usually do. I usually just start dressing them while they are waking up and they usually do fine. OC i do not dress because he is older and will do it himself after he completely wakes up but he is also difficult to wake up. Yc does not do anything herself and she is the one I dress while waking up. She is usually chipper and happy afterwards. Wife came into the room and started berating me for not working with the kids to wake them up. They will not wake up this way with me. So I leave the room after essentially being told I don't know how to parent my kids. The kids were not crying or hurt in any way until the wife came into the room and yc instantly started crying. After they woke up I could not find my daughters shoes. I searched the house including the kids' bedrooms. I tell my wife who then as usual starts to berate me and then goes and looks for them. After a few minutes she finds them in the Oc room hidden beneath a pile of toys that they had made the previous night. Oc room is absolutely disgusting and piles of toys and blankets everywhere. How was I supposed to know to look under that specific pile? it would take a long time to sift through all of his crap. Wife then goes on a tangent about not getting any help cleaning the house, completely ignoring the number of times i have cleaned the house and his room and them messing it up within days of it being cleaned and her not helping to enforce them cleaning their own rooms. I go back to my yc because i usually brush her hair in the morning. She didn't want me to brush her hair and I told her mommy is busy and is already mad so please let me do it. She started crying and my wife instantly started asking what I did to her. Wife instead of telling yc to go back to me to brush her hair, told her to gather her brush and spray and she would do it after they got to school.
I just need her to back me up and stop instantly giving in to the kids every single time they start to get upset. I am afraid the precedent is already set and cannot be overcome easily and will never be overcome so long as she doesnt make it a team effort. It's just making both of our lives more difficult but she doesn't have a backbone when it comes to the kids.

Wife asked me to pay the gas card today so she could fill up. I messed up and had to reset the password. I updated the password on our google sheet and then texted her that i paid it, had to reset the password, and saved it on the google sheet drive. She came home and started to gripe at me for resetting the password and said that I probably didn't remember the password. I told her I saved it on the google sheet and she said that I should have told her that. When I said I did she got mad at me and told me that I didn't. I then reread the text that I sent her about it and she got even more upset because she had an excuse because she was busy. Then she started to tell me that I never believe her when she says that I didn't tell her things and only occasionally have proof that I am right. That statement makes no sense. If I have proof that something she accused me of is wrong, why am I supposed to believe her the other times when she was wrong this time? I feel like I am being gaslighted.

Wife had a state exam today. She has been really busy and studying for it for a month or so. She asked me to change the guinea pigs blanket and food. I agreed and did as she asked. Afterwards she got home and talked to ychild about the guinea pigs. The ychild told her about changing the pigs habitat i overheard her talking to ychild about how I don't take of them very often.
I didn't even want the guinea pigs. We are supposed to be saving up for ychild surgery and then she went and bought the guinea pigs because the ochild threw a fit about them. We spent over $100 on them on a whim essentially. When I was given an aquarium for free, I was told that I could only have it if I cared for it, that she would not do anything to help the fish/aquarium.
I feel like the same should hold true here. She/kids wanted them so they should have to take care of them but now i am being shamed to my ychild by my own wife because she has to take care of them.

Got woken up by my wife this morning because my alarm didn't go off (i forgot to turn it back on after turning it off on friday.) She started griping that now she had to get the kids ready then go and finish her things. I told her not to worry that I would get the kids dressed 1st before I took care of myself. She then angrily told me to just go to the bathroom and get ready, she would
deal with the kids, so I did. We found my ochild overdue library books in the floorboard of my car's backseat (must have fallen out of his backpack) the previous thursday. After we found them I put them in his backpack and later discovered they had taken them out and were leaving them strange places. I did this several times before I put them on top of the bookshelf so they don't get lost. This morning after the alarm fisco wife started griping at me because I didn't put the books in ochilds backpack. I started to explain where i put them and why i had done that. She didnt care she said it was stupid and for me to get off my high horse. I keep feeling there is no winning in this relationship, there is only pain. I decided to reread some of the early journal entries today and noticed some things and figured I would put them here. I am no longer stating where my wife sleeps and when I wake up alone because for almost a year I have slept in my bed alone and woken up alone. I am no longer stating what housework i do mostly because I always cook, do the dishes, and laundry.

Today is Halloween trunk or treats we will be going too. I have done 3 loads of laundry and put up the kids clothes that my wife has left on the chair and then moved to the bed that has sat unfolded for 2 weeks. I cooked supper last night,did the dishes today, and then mowed the lawn and pulled the weeds in the front and back yards.Afterwards i came inside and wife started griping at me because she assumes i wanted to take a shower after all the things I did and we only had 20 minutes before we left for the events. I decided to just change clothes and throw on some cologne. I sprayed one spritz and next time my wife came into the room she said I must have sprayed myself directly, she makes fun of me when I spray it in the air and walk through, and said she could smell me down the hall. She then started complaining about how she didnt even think about putting perfume on but now she couldn't because we would clash. I don't think she has ever complimented my cologne but she sure does like to complain about it. When we get to the church we had a decent time then came time to clean the pumpkins. Afterwards we went to clean our hands. We had left our buckets so i went back to get them while my wife and ychild went to wash up. Me and Ychild washed our hands as well. Afterwards we waiting outside the bathrooms to find them. I get a text asking if we were coming to get the pumpkins. They had gotten out before us,my wife was mad that I didnt come to the pumpkins instead of waiting outside the bathrooms. She started to gripe at me in public and I got upset with her, i didnt say anything but she knew i was upset from the look I gave her.

Halloween night. Got home and discussed where to go for trick or treating. After getting in the car my wife almost instantly started getting on me about money, almost accusing me of hoarding money. I explained to her about keeping some money in case of an emergency but that just made her worse. I don't know what to do. I don't understand how we can be making this much money but have nothing to show for it. Last year around this time we were living solo off of my paycheck. She has been making 2k a month and then recently 3.5k a month net. She now brings home more money than I do and yet every check she demands my entire paycheck. How can 6.5k a month net us almost nothing in return. Something is wrong and I don't know what it is.

Well that was disturbing. IF you did read the last chapter, now then the only place left to go is insanity and I’m pretty sure we have arrived. I hope you all enjoy this next one! Also this chapter is a bit insane. Mainly caused by one individual that was mentioned long ago. This fanfic is based off the fanfic The isolationists, by Seeyouon_otherside. Memory Transcript Subject: Lieutenant Colonel Leminarc, Zeyzel of the wanderer fleet.
“So what’s the supply situation?”
Captain Leiejaa flipped through her pad “Admittedly sir it could be worse, we have been going through our supply at a slower rate than expected this past week since we joined the others but it’s still bad. We’ve got about half a year left of supply for all ships and crew IF we ration, and. That’s not counting Alvaro, since he needs to eat a lot more than us. Counting him…we have a little less than a year, not bad, not great.” She then flipped over a few more pages. “The good news is that Alvaro’s movies, TV shows, and video games have drastically improved morale,” I raised an eyebrow when I noticed her ‘scooby-doo’ pin and the 'Vault-girl' patch on her uniform, “and his idea about using solar panels that we found in that federation shipwreck has decreased power consumption by twenty five percent. Also Steve’s idea to put those catch things on the engines actually gives us some raw metals to work with. Meaning metals aren’t that big of a supply issue right now.”
“Who is Steve?” I asked
She flipped through to the crew log. “One of the janitors, he’s been pretty helpful in coming up with ideas to save power and resources.”
I nodded, then groaned at the realization I just had. “We need to find a place to re-sock our fleet. But I don’t know this area well.” Turning to my nav officer I asked “We’re are we?”
After a few quick checks on his monitor he replied with surprise in his voice. “Close to what the federation considers mapped space, bordering Human space as well.”
“Wait, when did we get here?”
“A day ago. We are just outside the space dividing the line between Human space and what the Federation considers their territory. I would advise against going any farther
“Contact the rest of the fleet make sure-”
\BEEP-WHA**
The hell was that? I looked towards the coms station to see where that came from.
\BEEP-WHA**
Captain Leiejaa suddenly got this very distant look on her face.
“Captain, are you alright?”
“No, no it can’t be.”
“Can’t be what Captain Leiejaa? Talk to me.”
She ran over to the coms station and listened to the sound again.
\BEEP-WHA**
She then pulled out her pad and clicked on something, \BEEP-WHA**, the same exact noise.
“Sir you remember that signal my team was working on before I officially joined you?”
“I do, why?”
“Sir…this is that signal…and I got a source on it!”
I called the Shredder immediately. “Shredder, this is the Oro’ do you copy?”
“I do Oro’ what’s going on?”
“We are picking up a signal that my crew was tracking before we joined you. We just got a lock on its origin.”
“Hmmm, do you think there could be supplies for us all?
“That’s a good possibility, and we don’t exactly have a lot of options either.
After a brief moment of silence a response came over the com’. “Alright let’s investigate. We do this slowly and safely.
The fleet then primed their FTL engines and jumped to the signal source. After a brief moment of silence my log officer spoke up.
“Um, sir, this isn’t a signal, this is a compressed data file.”
Captain Leiejaa turned around in surprise. “It’s a what?!”
“A compressed data file. Look, you can see the data itself.”
“How did my team miss this?” Leiejaa said with a combination of shock and surprise.
“It’s because we’re so close to the signal's location now captain. our log office replied, “if we had picked it up over any other distance it would have been garbled nonsense.”
I consider something for a moment. “Can you open it?”
“Yes I can, give me a second.”
After the log officer fiddled with the data for a bit he was able to de-compile it.
“It’s ready sir. They’re audio files sir.”
“Alright, play them.”
“Playing now.
“TURN BACK IT'S MAD! MAD!”
“ALL FEDERATION FORCES RETREAT! DO NOT ENGAGE THIS…THING! AHHHHH!”
“THIS IS THE ATOMICGUN FLEET! WE NEED BACK UP! I REPEAT WE NEED…”
“ITS MORE INSANE THAN THE ARXUR! IT'S..IT'S LOOKING AT US RUN! RUN AWAY!
“THIS IS AN SOS PLEASE ANYONE HELP”.
“IT HACKED OUR WEAPONS SYSTEMS! ALL OF THEM. ITS FORCING US TO ATTACK THE OTHERS! AHHH!
“IT JUST HACKED INTO OUR FTL DRIVE! ITS TURNING IT ON! NONONO!”
Hundreds of SOS’s, retret orders, cries for help, just came flooding in, all Federation, what the hell is going on?!
“Sir coming out of FTL now!”
We dropped out and…I dropped my pad, there were just…thousands of warships. It was a sea of shipwrecks so thick it was hard to see past, and bodies. What happened here?
We made our way through the sea of debris. Bumping into bodies and smaller debris as they bounced off of our shields, the Oro’ led the charge since about 23% of the front of the ship is solid metal. Which allowed us to ram enemy ships with little to no damage. Or to clear debris fields in this case.
The damage to these ships was bizarre. Some appeared to be completely intact then for scans to show that they were just hollow, everything but the shell just gone. Others were turned inside out. Others had their back ends just gone or so stretched that it looked like gum, we’re there FTLS would be located...some were just demolished. The dead bodies showed very similar damage.
“Sir!” A scanner crew man spoke up. “There are ships of every combat class imaginable here!
“We’re nearing the center sir. Where the signal is coming from.”
The debris got more dense the farther we went in, forcing the other ships to fall in line behind us. I heard a door open and close behind me.
“Hello everyone what’s…MARY JOSEPH WHAT HAPPENED HERE!?” And there’s Alvaro.
“Your guess is as good as mine buddy.”
We continued to look in awe and horror as we passed through. Then we broke through and saw an empty part of space. In the middle of that space was a Federation space station type I had never seen before.
“Does anyone have any idea what type of station that is?”
“Oh no…”
I looked to my left to see Sergeant first class Anax.
“You know this station?”
He nodded and looked extremely uncomfortable.
“Before I became Alvaro’s caretaker I was part of a crew looking for this place. This is the medical station, I use the term medical station VERY loosely, Mortem. This was more of an experimentation station, they would bring captured Arxur and federation citizens, that had that so-called predator disease, here. They did horrible things to them. Experimentation's, cross species breeding, forced evolution, literally sewing one species body parts onto another, and way way worse. This whole place was a madhouse. We were tasked with finding it so if we ever went to war we could immediately find this place and destroy it. It wouldn’t surprise me if you, Alvaro, and Aurora were still in captivity you would have been brought here.”
“Hmmm, it doesn’t look operational any more.”
“SIR! We’re being hailed!”
“By who?”
“The station sir!”
The station?!?!
“Answer it! I want to know who this is! Tell the others to get into battle formation.”
“Yes sir!”
The video opened and all I was met with was a giant red mechanical eye.
“AHAHAHAHAH! LOOK AT WHAT IT ISSSSS! A NEW PREDATOR SPECIES? OOHHHHHH AHHAHAHAHHA! This should be INTERESTING. I AM THE DISCIPLE OF CHAOS, SLAUGHTER OF THOSE WHO HARM CHILDREN FOR FUN. YOU! Who are YOUUUUU!!?! MEEEEHHAHAHAHHAHA!?
“Wait a second, I know that voice.” Alvaro said. “Choking Hazard?”
The eye stopped its rant and focused on Alvaro, then it stepped back. Wait…it’s a Venlil! A very augmented Venlil. It had wires and tubes coming out of its head and going into some kind of small mech suit that had a cannon on either arm and extremely sharp claws. One of its eyes was replaced with a very overly exaggerated red robot eye. Half of its fur was burned off by what appeared to be acid, its lower jaw was completely removed and instead had some sort of speaker. It had no teeth on its upper jaw. One of its ears was replaced with some sort of artificial ear, and its other had even more wires coming out of it. Its head was the only visible organic part of it.
“Alvaro…is that you?!?” The speaker squawked.
“Yes buddy it is!”
It stopped for a moment before emitting an ear splitting screech and started to run around the room it was in like a lunatic while cackling like a madman, which it probably was, knocking over chairs, books, papers, and anything else in its way. It did this for about a minute before returning to the camera.
“ITS AHAHAHHAHAH YOU! AHAHHAHAHAHAH! I MISSED YOU HUMANS, YOU WERE ALL SO SUPPORTIVE OF MY MODDING OF MYSELF! OH WE HAVE SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT FRIEND! AhahhahahahAhhahahahhAHAHAHAHAHAHEEEE! Please come…AHAHAHAHAHEEHEHEHE…aboard! I’ll get food, and other things you unaugmented need! MMMMREEEHAHAHAHHAHA!
With that the video ended, then the docking procedure was sent to us, leaving us all in a state of absolute confusion.
“Ah, he never changes.” Alvaro was the first to speak. “Don’t worry we can trust him. He might look insane but he’s harmless-ish
“IS HE NOT INSANE?!?!?” Anax yelled.
“Oh no he definitely is, one hundred percent nuts, in all honesty he probably doesn’t even have that many literal brain cells left that he hasn’t replaced with wires or motherboards. He is very truthful and extremely loyal. He really likes his friends and will even tear apart his own body if it means you survive, which he HAS done before.
We then went down to the hangar and got a shuttle ready. A few guards tried to go with us but Alvaro said that that’s a bad idea right now. I got in the pilot seat and we all rode in silence the rest of the way and docked with the station. When we docked, myself, Alvaro and Anax went inside the airlock to meet this nutter.
“Oh! One more thing.” Alvaro reached into his pocket and pulled out something. “This is Neutrolen, knowing Hazard he probably killed everyone in here who wasn’t a predator disease patient or a kid, and left their bodies to rot. Put this under your nose, it’ll help with the smell.”
Taking his advice we took out scoops of the stuff and basically inhaled it so it was so close to our noses. When the door opened…holy shit.
“Dear balancer…” was all Anax could manage.
The hallway was littered with bodies of all types of federation species in extreme conditions of decay. There were scientists, exterminators, soldiers, and more. They were blown apart, chopped into multiple pieces, burned alive, some were stuck in the ceiling and floor, others were nothing more than very dry stains on the… well everywhere, some seemed like they had been pulled apart. The absolute brutality of their deaths worried me. As we continued on our way the Arxur bodies started to appear. They also met very gruesome deaths.
“So uh…how did you meet?” I said to Alvaro trying to distract myself from the horror around me.
“We met when we rescued him from a very small isolated Arxur cattle farm, back before the Battle for earth and what we knew the Arxur truly were. On a side note he participated in the battle of earth and used what he called a space breach device to board a federation ship and fly it into the formation of the other ships. Setting the FLT drive to explode. When he was recovered from an escape pod he was found by some Canadian troops who found him covered in blood and body parts. Now returning to how I met him. The Arxur were actually terrified of him and had used him for sport…but he ended up killing all the Arxur. You would think they would kill him for that but for whatever reason they didn’t. He was Friendly to us which was a massive surprise as all the other rescues were terrified of us. He really wanted to be picked up and pet, many of us happily accepted that. He was not the metal behemoth you saw on the screen then. He really liked to be around humans for whatever reason so he was pretty easy to manage.”
He paused for a moment to remember more.
“The other rescues were really scared of him because at the time we had no idea just how nuts this dude was. It was also rumored among the rescues, and the Arxur that became our POWS, that he actually died but came back because he made a deal with some sort of powerful entity in exchange for powers, the rumors aren’t very clear on that and I also doubt they're true. It was the second week we found him replacing his arm with a mechanical one he made himself, and didn't even bother to use numbing medicine. Just up and chopped it off. That’s when we realized he was nuts and got more strange from there. He would continue to replace body part after body part. Until he made that suit you saw out of a downed Arxur bomber
Alvaro paused then continued.
“What he then did then was jury rig two MK nineteen, the fully auto grenade launcher, into shotguns with an obsessive amount of range. He also made his own shells OUT of the forty millimeter canisters we had left over, he combined slugs, dragons breath, buck shot, and ten millimeter explosives into these absolute incredible shells. Then slapped the suckers on his arms. Then threw an forty millimeter retractable anti-air cannon on his left shoulder and an actual twenty millimeter grenade launcher on his right. He also has mad…what do they call it now? Charisma? Rrizz?
“What, why?” Asked Anax.
“He’s the only Venlil I know that I know who did it with a female human.”
I nearly choked on my saliva and Anax made a really weird noise.
“What!? Ask him yourself!”
We had reached the room that Hazard told us to go to. We opened the door and black mass of metal came flying out and tackled Alvaro.
“HAHAHAHAHHAH! It’s you, it's REALLY YOU! HAHAHHAHA! This, is, AMAZHAHAHHAHA!” Hazard then beat his chest with what I think is glee.
Alvaro simply smiled “Hey buddy great to see you again…you're bleeding on me again.”
