Bit of a gratuitous “bursting with happiness and want to share with people”, but if folks have any questions I’d be happy to answer!
OH and I became engaged in Jan after being together 3.5 years. He has a large family, mine is tiny. I would have been happy with a registry office appointment and going out for lunch, but he was keen for a bit more of a ceremony. We looked at a traditional ceremony at various locations around the UK that we had connections with, but ultimately concluded the wedding we wanted would be ~£30-40k and neither of us could get excited about spending that amount on a single day. We want to rebuild our house in the medium-term and we’ll want that money then!
We live on the Isle of Skye, which is a bit of an elopement destination in Scotland. And our neighbours happen to be elopement photographers (always handy!). So we decided to have more of a micro-wedding (immediate family = 7 guests). Again, I could have had no-one, or no-one at the ceremony and met family after, but family presence at the ceremony was important to my OH so I was happy to go with the flow. We’d planned to hike out to a spot close to where we had our first date for the ceremony (benefit of marrying in Scotland is you can marry outside, not the case for England and Wales), but the ceremony day was the one wet day we’d had in weeks, and we were worried about guests slipping etc. In the end we walked to the ancient standing stones at the end of our village, and managed to see most of our neighbours as we walked there, which was lovely.
Short, sweet ceremony with a humanist celebrant (non-religious but with a healthy respect for morality, doing good and being kind etc). Then some pictures and family sent away whilst we toddled to another part of the island for photos, before heading to our local (which happens to be one of the best places to eat on the island…again, handy) for dinner.
In all, it cost a little over £10k. An expensive elopement for the UK but the majority of that cost was photographers and our outfits (bit of a vicious circle - if you’re paying good rates for photographers, you then don’t want to skimp on the outfit too much - or at least that’s how it felt to me). In all ended up being really happy with what we spent, and the day we had. It wasn’t about achieving a wedding at the cheapest rate possible, but about getting a day that matched what we wanted at a price we were comfortable with!

Well it's about that time again. We've done this vote the past two years and its always been fun to see how the community feels, so let's do it again. Here's the results for the last poll in case you're curious. Just like last time, you get to vote for your top five favorite characters and the poll will be open all throughout June. You can also change your vote at any time. I'll repost this a few times throughout the month just in case anyone misses this post. A few things to note going in:

1. You can only vote for characters who have been playable in an MK game, with the only exception being Kronika just because she's an npc who, by far, has the most screen time in the series.
2. No guest characters, obviously. This is meant to be a poll about our favorite MK characters. For that reason, Dark Kahn will also not be included.
3. If any new characters for MK12 are revealed while this poll is open, they will not be added. For starters, I'm hoping to post the results before MK12 comes out so we won't even get the chance to use them before the poll is over, but also, if they're not here at the start, their results are gonna be skewed.

Well, I think that's about everything. Again, the poll will be open all throughout June and hopefully the results will be posted in late July or August. Feel free to spread this around if you'd like, otherwise, cast your votes!

Hi All,
Week 2 of building my home network on opnSense.. and got into VLANs. My main use case right now is to get my Access Point (Unifi 6 InWall) to run 2 extra WiFi networks behind VLAN - Guests and IOT Devices. Appreciate I'm limited by the fact that my switch in the middle is unmanaged and I cannot hard wire any devices on VLAN - the goal so far is just to manage the WiFi behind the VLANs.
My understanding is that in theory, I should be able to:
- Get 2 VLAN's running on top of LAN (tagged differently) - Passthrough all 3 networks (LAN, Guest VLAN and IOT VLAN) on the same interface (vtnet1->vmbr1->ETH1) and the same cable to the switch and then from the switch to the AP. Big assumption here is that the unmanaged netgear switch will just pass all along.
- In the AP, create 2 more WiFi Networks based on the 2 VLANs at tags 40 and 50.
- This shouldn't interfere with any of my other hard wired devices as they'd just default to LAN (untagged).
It seems I managed to get the Guest VLAN and Guest WiFi network working correctly, And my other devices are fine. However, the IOT VLAN and WiFi (which I created last) don't seem to work. My devices don't get an IP nor internet connection. Moreover, opnSense would not let me run the IOT VLAN as a new interface on the same priority/PCP (0). I had to switch it to 1.
I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong completely, or I'm facing a hardware limitation (likely switch?). Any help more than appreciated!
