I'm just one more person among many of you, whether long time or newcoming hobbyists, who is glad to have an officially recognized haven to come to.
Battletech has been a huge part of my life for many decades, and despite my opportunities for in person games long since having dried up for many reasons, I still love to consume news, lore projects tackling subjects I used to devour entire source books and novels to get my brain around, and the like. I love to see people progress as painters, progress as tacticians, progress as, well, people.
While I may be unhappy with recent lore direction, I still love the hobby, and always keep up on the lore. I do not begrudge anyone their enjoyment of it.
For decades, in local game stores and hobby spaces, some people have been... Unwelcoming. I'm very glad to see the company that has taken stewardship of something that's been a part of me for most of my life, wade in and firmly put their foot down in a very definitive way on this. It's nice to know that I, and so many thousands more like me, are welcome.

Platform: PC
Estimated year of release: 2004-2007
Graphics/art style: from what I can recall, it was along the lines of an arcade graphics like those racing games at arcades. Art style was akin to asphalt mobile games.
Notable characters: the cars looked cool I guess haha
Notable gameplay mechanics: this is the big one, when you first bought the game at the store it came with this card reader thing and a starter pack of cards. Although you could progress in game, to unlock rarer cars you had to buy packs at the store which had those neat cars with all the stat boosts but it also came with power ups you could use during the races. I can’t recall exactly what kind of power ups. I believe general car upgrades came from these booster packs as well.
Other details: I don’t believe the game lasted past 2010 as I cannot recall playing it past that year. It might’ve been always online as well. Definitely had a multiplayer component to it, no career mode whatsoever for it.
Side note: I’ll be enterally grateful to whoever helps me identify this game. My late dad always bought me a booster pack every month and I’d like to relive that memory by seeing gameplay and the cards again somewhere online hopefully.

My 6 month old Pomeranian pup has, seemingly out of nowhere, started ripping all his toys to shreds. In the last couple of weeks he has destroyed every soft toy we've ever given him, chewing holes and ripping stuffing out. He likes to gnaw at the seams until he makes a hole.
I went to the pet store and bought him some of the toys marketed towards extreme chewers. All of them claimed to be the toughest toy on the market. None of them lasted more than 5 minutes before he had ripped them up. One was even made in part with kevlar!
Our trainer has suggested we just remove all soft toys from him, which is fine with me, but I'm concerned he will take out this instinct on our soft furnishings instead. Hello! I am a employee of a non corporate Starbucks that is inside a Target shopping center. So I technically work for target and get Target benefits. However a bunch of things have been happening since I was hired 11 months ago.
So my main team lead for Starbucks (we can call her bossy), doesn’t know how to do her job. That’s right, she has worked at the SAME position for 25+ years and doesn’t know how to do her job (that’s not even the worse part). Just today she clocked out of her shift 20 mins early without telling ANYONE! Then she went to sit with her friends as I am now by myself struggling to make and take orders with a long line with about a 20 min wait time. Bossy and her friends just WATCHED me struggle with the orders. She never told me why she clocked out early even, she was NO WHERE NEAR overtime for the week. Besides that, she left us alone off and on four times for a total of 3ish hours. Didn’t have a reason but “emails”. My other team leads said it only takes 20 mins PER WEEK to work on emails, she takes 2+ hours PER DAY, and she won’t say when she is leaving to do it. If I ask where she was, she just says emails and not to worry.
She also doesn’t give us barista’s free drinks or food, yet claims to her Starbucks bosses that she does. Since I’ve been hired, I’ve never gotten a free drink from her, she is supposed to be doing it more often, but doesn’t. Even worse though, us baristas are NOT allowed to have water on hand. By state law we are supposed to have a designated area for water to go. We do not have one, we brought this up to her and Bossy ignored us. So we are LUCKY if we get to drink ANYTHING between breaks (about 4 hours), and our Target isn’t cooling off fast enough to beat the heat, so it’s humid and hot inside the store. We brought this up to a higher team lead and they also ignored us. Hell, even HR ignored me!
Now the team lead above bossy and is the front of the store team lead who is responsible for scheduling (let’s call him EL for entitled leader), has refused me to be trained in other parts of the store. I’ve been BEGGING for 2 months to be trained in ANY position and no longer work Starbucks, and that I don’t care where and I won’t complain. Plus we are in dire need of staff however the store refuses to hire new people and instead burns out it’s own employees. He moved me to lanes 2 times, other then that I’ve only been in Starbucks. I tried asking again and he ignored me. There is 3 team lead positions opening up within the next 2 weeks and I feel like if I ask they won’t allow me to apply just because. ALSO EL hates giving vacation time or days of, even though your not available that day for whatever reason, he will still put you on the schedule. I requested a weekend off 2 months in advance, and he kept denying it for no reason.
I wish there were other jobs near by that paid as much or better then Target, but none of them come close, and as a person finishing high school, I prefer a higher paying job. However the management at Target, in the part of the store where I work, is so bad I want to quit.
ALSO!!!! Almost all of the baristas are DRAMA! And I’ve been so mistreated over my mental and physical health that I can’t take it. As a person who gets triggered and can easily get panic attacks I did warn them that if I run to the back randomly I just need a min. One time I did that after a miserable week, I ran to the back struggling to breathe. One barista that was about to clock out for lunch turned around, looked at me, and said, “What the f*ck is wrong with you?!” I slowly said panic attack through gasps and shaking and all she said was “Well get back to work then, it’s not that bad.” HUH!? I’m barely able to stand in front of you, wdym?
There is another barista that makes fun of me because I can’t spell names for the life of me. So I often ask customers to spell it for me and I always hear behind me, then spelling it super slow interrupting the customer as they are making drinks.
Now, is this normal and I’m frustrated over nothing, or are my feelings accurate. Cause to me it’s EXTREMELY infuriating.

I own a store. Not gonna say what store. I just don’t understand why so many people are all of a sudden using cash. 18 years was 98% debit. All of a sudden everyone’s been paying in cash. I don’t mind. It’s just annoying. Debit is so much more simple. I understand the fact about everything going on in the economy. I just can’t seem to understand why people are paying in cash. Like when I pay myself it goes to my debit card. I don’t wake up and think “ let me go withdraw all this to cash.” Like why? Why not Just tap the card? I don’t even like having a $5 bill on me. I give these people “ $87.10 “ in change. How do you like that? I just be tapping everything, screw cash/change😂😂 like if you work side jobs for cash, blah blah. Yeah that’s fair I understand. My customer definitely don’t. So what goes through your head? “ yeah pay day deposited, let me go withdraw cash” why not just tap your card?😂

Some games do not have trade values listed on the website. It is what it is. Call your local store.
Can I trade stuff in?
Yes. However, you may be restricted to trade credit only. Only select items can be sold for cash, and some stores may not be able to give cash at all.
How can I return a broken product/warranty exchange/wrong product/etc?
If it was purchased in store, take it to a store with the receipt. If it was an online purchase call customer service ONLY(Do NOT email or think chat support will ever return).
What happens to my preorder money if I don't pick the game up?
The money will always be there. You can cancel and get your money back. However, 30 days after release, you can only get in store credit back.
Can I cancel my preordeswitch it to digital over the phone?
No. In store preorders can only be cancelled/changed in person.
When will stores restock -insert item here-?
No one on this subreddit will have any way to answer that question. Employees don't know when stuff is coming in until it's already in transit. They don't control when they get product.
Power up rewards coupons won't redeem/activate?
Try the website. The app has been broken. If still an issue you have to CALL customer service or wait and try again later(Yes, it may take months to get fixed)

We've been getting this report several times. We don't have any way to know how to fix that. Obviously try the normal things like clearing your cookies, try a different browser, turn off your VPN etc. If that doesn't fix it, you could try calling customer service.

This has been removed for all in store preorders. Online preorders are frequently slow to update, do not rely on this.

The highest elixir upgrade depends on the troop you level up to 18. Ex : I’m upgrading baby dragon and it’s 18th level costs 4,200,000 builder elixir. (Pekka costing the highest - 4,800,000)
So I recommend not upgrading your storages if you have reached this capacity unless you want to store extra loot.
You need one lvl 7 storage and one lvl 8 storage, for both elixir and gold to achieve these capacities (including the storage given from townhall as well).

I’m a total newbie to the gun world. Recently had a break in a few weeks ago and while my sister and I were okay (we live together, Pennsylvania) it seriously made me realize that I was a little oblivious to the dangers out there. I’ve been reading up on gun laws in my state (PA) and have been looking into conceal carry options. I’m currently waiting for my license to get approved. Once it is I plan on taking lessons and getting in some range time. Went to gun shop near me and they recommended the Smithfield Hellcat, Glock 43x and Smith and Wesson SD9.
I did get to feel all three guns in the store. The SD9 was the biggest of the three. Again I’m a newbie and was taking the gentleman’s advice at the store. I’m on ps4. my first planted crop of sugar beets is coming up for harvest. on a 5 acre field, is it worth the time to do the sugar beet cutting and take the tops off before harvesting? or would there be so little it’s not worth the effort? can you use a regular mower for that or do you have to purchase the special beet mower from the store or is there a mod that is at least 6m? and then can you pick them up with a regular windrower and forage wagon or is there another tool? thanks

Before I even begin, I want to specify I am mostly posting this just to rant/vent as I have no one in the world to talk to about this.
My very first day ever today was a disaster. First batch was 58 items, and I couldn't find about half of them. By the time I would have everything figured out it would have been WAY past the allotted deadline. I figured I should just cancel this order and someone more experienced can pick it up... the app wouldn't let me cancel! I sat there in the parking lot for 10 minutes contacting support to do so, and by this time I had been out for 45 minutes.
I shortly after accepted another delivery from the same store: 6 items. I got this. All was going fantastically, until I reached an area I have never driven in before. Little did I know, this area has MOBILE FUCKING TRAFFIC CAMERAS mounted to police vehicles that I am 95% confident caught me going over the limit. By how much only the Lord knows as my speedometer is not perfect in the aforementioned old car.
At this point I decided I was done for the day and am now sitting at home. After looking up traffic ticket/defensive driving course fees in my city, I've determined that I just spent two hours of my life to make NEGATIVE $230 DOLLARS.
I feel like crying. Every time I try to make a little extra dough on the side I end up getting screwed and being worse off than where I started. Fuck this world entirely.

I wrote this as a response to someone asking me for freelancer leveling tips recently in another post. It's just a draft written in one sitting but I thought I'd post sooner than later to help people out, if I can be bothered I may polish it as time goes by. Many obvious things have been omitted. Feel free to add your own.
After you prestige level up and are starting anew, make sure to milk the early maps for everything it has until all free items are retrieved. At syndicate completion reward time, you want to be receiving mercers, not common items.
Using Mendoza as an example, I will bring back the Bartoli Woodsman Hunting Rifle and the Bartoli Hunting Shotgun from the dual silo area of the map. On the second Mendoza run, I will bring back the Sapper's Axe and the Sieger AR552 Tactical rifle from the villa area.
Every item you retrieve is one you don't have to pay thousands for.
Get the Assassins's HWK21 Covert pistol by neutralising and assassin in the first showdown.
*** You can bring back 3 items by carrying one on the back (useful for Isle of Sgail), one in the briefcase (vendor purchase, only some maps have briefcases), and one hand-held weapon such as a sapper's axe***
*** BE CAREFUL as the many a time a bug causes the item in the briefcase to not return to the safehouse, resulting in an item loss***
*** If you risk this method then ensure the weapon in the briefcase is a cheap one and not something like a legendary weapon***
*** Sometimes the HITMAN 3 servers malfunction at the end of the map when you exit successfully ***
*** I have noticed this happens repeatedly when I have retrieved too many free items in Isle of Sgail (everything you can bring back for free and carry) ***
If this happens, you lose everything and take another 15+ minutes to run this map again and finish all the objectives.
Solution: separate your item retrievals instead of doing it all at once - you WILL play that map again on your way to the next prestige level.
This will save you a lot of time compared to just using instinct to navigate.
- One downside is that it is rather inaccurate, and long (sniper) distance kills can take a very, very long time.
If I die I will use the Assassins's HWK21 Covert pistol as my primary weapon, as if I die again, this can readily obtained at every showdown.
You will realise after many prestige levelings that you sometimes have many mercers left over before you prestige level. This applies especially if you're chasing the remaining missing pistols that don't spawn every map at the vendor. This translates to the amount of times you wasted on a courier or a safe. Skip the courier or safe if you have to go out of your way substantially to get them, it is a waste of time.
Prioritise pistols a litte bit more when purchasing from a vendor if you don't want to be wasting time doing another almost full campaign run just to get all the remaining pistols.
Ideally, you want to get 2000 mercers for 1 minute of in-game time. If a safe is on the other side of the map, I often skip it and move on.
The quicker your maps the quicker you reach the 10k, 20k, 30k bonuses and your free reward weapons.
Trickier targets that are embedded in areas surrounded by people can be easily taken care without triggering a shootout by dropping an explosive next to them, running away, then detonating.
You may lose some mercers due to collateral damage, but it is well worth the time saved as you don't have to isolate the target, or trigger a massive shootout and risk mercer and inventory loss.
Examples include many areas of Colorado, targets outside the front bay area in Bangkok, deep inside crowds in Mumbai, etc.
This is a personal preference but I've been just grinding the Arms Trafficking (80%) and the Big Pharma (20%) contracts.
I personally find them to be the most efficient and easiest for quicker leveling, and importantly, fun. Arms Trafficking contracts can be risky compared to other contracts though, but I'm well versed in combat tactics and map knowledge.
Big Pharma contracts can improve efficiency in showdown maps by using your dart guns and remote emetic device to poison suspects for identification.
With the Arms Trafficking contracts, the Shashka A33 Covert can be used as the primary rifle, and easily reobtained for free if you die.
With the Arms Trafficking contracts, weigh up the benefits vs risk. If you are risking a 21,000 golden sawed-off bartoli shotgun for a 1k objective, is it worth risking on a map like Colorado? Probably not.
Another benefit of Arms Trafficking contracts is that many a time you don't need to bring the weapons as they can be taken from guards or found in the map.
Shoot around them even if they have an escape icon above them, because sometimes they are the target but the "target is escaping" doesn't show on the objectives list until you start shooting around them.
If you don't do this, you'll knock the real target out to stop a map-wide evacuation, then you'll be running around the entire map looking for a target that doesn't exist, wasting tons of time.
The remote emetic device is great for isolating the showdown target in busy areas where dart gun use will be spotted. The remote emetic device is an illegal item, so if you're not in a guard uniform, put it in a briefcase, stand next to your target holding the briefcase, and trigger to poison your target. This is sometimes needed for a quiet showdown target kill in maps like Mendoza, where the target won't leave the area surrounded by people, and it's rather difficult to use a dart gun. That, or you can just use micro or duck explosives.
If you have triggered a map-wide escape, whether the target is already killed or not, no disguise will save you from the guards at the exit point. Running to the exit without killing the guards first is a sure way to die. Kill them all first. This another situation where explosives can come in handy.
Before engaging in a risky kill, always have an exit strategy in the case of a mass shootout. A shootout actually isn't so bad if you are in a room killing guards running through a choke point, given you have sufficient ammunition to fend off until you can pick up dead guards' guns.
Map exits can also be used to this effect, for targets and objectives such as kill 3 guards with a rifle.
Don't be afraid to kill non-target witnesses and lose some mercers, it can save a lot of time, risk and stress by preventing a massive shootout.
The most useful items in freelancer are (very arguably) probably micro and duck explosives. They make killing embedded targets (that you can't shoot secretly and run) easy to kill and avoid shootouts and the risk of death. Dont'be afraid to spend mercers on buying them at the vendor. Use them wisely and they will make life easier.
If you play Colorado, explosives can help a lot as mentioned above.
Concussive devices pretty much useless (apart from objectives if you play that contract), but I discovered you can use them to open safes. Save yourself running around photographing documents and save your explosives for harder embedded targets. The remote concussion ducks take up only 1 inventory space and are legal items, unlike the Breaching Charge MK III (3 inventory spaces).

PLAN ROUTECheck the map (press M) at the beginning of every map to check where the targets, couriers, and safes are, then plan the most efficient route.
This will save you a lot of time compared to just using instinct to navigate.
MINIMISE WEAPON LOSSI use the DAK DTI as my primary weapon most of the time. This means picking a contract with Dubai straight after a level up. This solves two problems:
- If you die, you lose a weapon you can easily obtain for free with a visit to Dubai
- You won't have the lockpick on you sometimes for long durations (yet to obtain or died), and the DAK DTI quickly and quietly opens most, not all, doors. Doors seemed to be bugged, as some open and some do not no matter which gun you use to shoot them.
- One downside is that it is rather inaccurate, and long (sniper) distance kills can take a very, very long time.
If I die I will use the Assassins's HWK21 Covert pistol as my primary weapon, as if I die again, this can readily obtained at every showdown.
MINIMISE MERCER LOSSSpend your mercers as quickly as you can, converting them to weapons and storing them in the safehouse. We all die sometimes no matter how careful (or careless) we are, and losing even 10k mercers is approximately another 2 maps you have to play to get the 10k mercers back, plus getting back the items you lost.
You will realise after many prestige levelings that you sometimes have many mercers left over before you prestige level. This applies especially if you're chasing the remaining missing pistols that don't spawn every map at the vendor. This translates to the amount of times you wasted on a courier or a safe. Skip the courier or safe if you have to go out of your way substantially to get them, it is a waste of time.
ITEM PURCHASE PRIORITYI used to prioritise bringing back bulky and illegal items like sniper rifles, so I don't have to worry about carrying them back later, but I realised that this resulted in many pistol slots being empty at the end of each run when the weapons wall is otherwise full. This is because there are more pistols than other weapon types.
Prioritise pistols a litte bit more when purchasing from a vendor if you don't want to be wasting time doing another almost full campaign run just to get all the remaining pistols.
MERCERS VS TIME PLAYEDAim for time efficiency over blind mercer gathering. I aim for an absolute minimum of 1000 mercers per 1 minute of in-game time.
Ideally, you want to get 2000 mercers for 1 minute of in-game time. If a safe is on the other side of the map, I often skip it and move on.

QUICK AND SAFER KILLSLosing some mercers by not completing objectives such as "no bodies found" (1000 mercers), or "hide target bodies" (1000 mercers) is a good thing if it saves you more than 1 minute. Go ahead and shoot a target from long distance to save yourself walking across the map, or waiting to isolate 3 separate poisoned targets, etc.

BE PATIENTWaiting to prevent a risky event from occurring is often the right thing to do. A little patience goes a long way. It's false economy to believe that you are saving time by taking overtly risky actions, because if your impatience results in a death or campaign failure, you have not only lost progress, mercers, your inventory, and all your tools, all of which you have to spend time regaining, you have also lost the legendary item reward at the end of the campaign.

As a kid I never really payed attention to how I looked. The only time I’d look in the mirror was when I was brushing my teeth, or doing my hair. Of course that changed as I entered my teen years, I would worry about how my hair looked before school or the bloating in my face after I ate dairy the day before. I never really had a relationship with my mother, we didn’t dislike eachother, and we weren’t very close either. That also changed when I was becoming a teen. Around that time my grandmother (my moms mother) had passed away, as well as us needing to move houses, causing both me and her to be stressed. As a result many arguments happened, which lead me to realize she was a narcissist. Obviously I couldn’t have realized that she was before because how is a 12yr old supposed to see the faults in their mother? The arguments would always end up with me being grounded, and shut out without her listening to me and hearing my side of the disagreement. It was you either agree with her, admit it was your fault and say you’re sorry, or get a hand to a face and a “I don’t wanna hear it, talk again and you’re grounded”. When I had just turned 15 we eventually we grew apart completely, I distanced myself from her because I realized I couldn’t build a bond with her, no matter how many times I said she was right or things were my fault. We only ever talked to eachother if we needed to. This meant I wouldn’t tell her anything, If I liked a boy or If I was upset with my friends. And many other small details you would usually tell your parent. But at the start of a new school year, I saw a boy I’d never seen before, and my 15yr old self was already head over heals within seconds. When the school day ended my mom picked me up, and we drove most of the way home In silence as usual, but surprisingly she asked me how the first day back was. I thought this was a big step, and maybe she was looking to bond like I was so desperately, so I decided to tell her about the boy. I gave her his name and told her how cute I thought he was. She paused for a second and then said “Oh, I know his parents” I saw her look at me before continuing, “I doubt a kid like theirs would like someone like you”. For context I was a very shy and socially awkward kid. Doing any social activity gave me major anxiety. So I mostly stayed to myself on my phone or reading. I didn’t have many friends, I wasnt very athletic so I played no sports, I wasn’t in any clubs or camps because the thought of having to talk and meet new people terrifed me. I basically did nothing. And because of this my mom would continuously bash me, and call me lazy and beat me down. She continued to go on, “He plays sports, and he’s hardly on any electronics,” I said “Okay”. “He’s not lazy like you”. The rest of the drive home was silent, I remember digging my nails into my thigh and looking out the window to keep me from crying. I think that was one of the worst days of my life. The feeling of my throat burning, the trees outside starting to get blurrier not just from the car speeding up but the tears starting to rise, and the heat rushing to my cheeks I’ll never forget. As soon as we pulled into the driveway I ran into my house and into my room, I looked in the mirror and studied my face thinking if I was pretty enough maybe it would make up for my laziness or my lack of personality. After that day I started looking for makeup tutorials, which haircuts would suit my face shape, and foods that would make me slimmer. Of course it didn’t stop there, I won’t go Into to much detail but I remember me & her were sitting in a line to a car wash, I was having a good day so I striked up a conversation with her, as I was smiling and making jokes I opened my eyes and saw her staring at my mouth, “Your teeth are really yellow, you know?” I didn’t say a word the rest of the car ride. And I stopped smiling with teeth after that, and a few months later I asked her to bring me to the store to get me whiting strips. I remember the look on her face, she looked sad and asked me why I would want those, I simply said “My teeth are yellow”. She’s also made countless comments on my eating habits and my weight which lead to more serious problems. As well as her comments on my personality worsening my anxiety. I still live with her now years later and still suffer from these kinds of comments.

Hey all,
So I was browsing the CR store and discovered they had 2 figures up for preorder that I apparently missed ordering from other places. Ive never used the CR store so I made sure to check their charge policy because I don't like paying $400 for something almost a year out and according to their FAQ "Your credit card will be charged when your order is being prepared for shipment in our warehouse. " yet when I go to check my bank I see a charge for the full $400 amount.
What gives? is it just a pre auth theyre checking the money/credit is there and it'll fall off or are they really trying to charge me for something a year out?
