 | I've been nontheistic for about four years now. During this time frame, I felt like having some religion, but none of the ones I found aligned fully with my values and beliefs. So, I decided to make my own. The religion is called "Uanism." It comes from the word "Uan" (a word I made for a language I created), which is one's life purpose or reason for being. I feel like I just need to vent.
I am feeling so overwhelmed with the job. I work in a high acuity single coverage site, I am a year out of training. Sometimes I love my job, sometimes it is so overwhelming and unsafe I can't breathe.
I have faced so many fears this year and become such a better doctor, but phew I am tired.
Today I saw the sickest baby I have ever seen. He came in grey and mottled and covered in petechiae. I thought he was going to die. He didn't, barely. He might still, but he flew away from my little shop to a big hospital.
At the same time he was trying to die a little girl came in seizing for the first time and not breathing, desaturating and almost needed an airway.
My shop is single doc coverage with 2-3 PAs, unless overnight when the doc is alone for 6 hours. We see an average of 100 per day.
Last week I had two codes at once. I dropped a tube in a crashing patient, handed it to the nurse and walked to the other code, ran it, called it, walked back to my other patient who was now coding. Got her back, spent the next hour juggling expanding her pressers, abx, trying to think straight about what might be killing her, while juggling an exploding room.
I had a patient with AMS, stridor, anisicoria, a decannulated trach that was placed 1 month prior and hypercarbia. ENT said he had a full day of clinic and wouldn't come in. He suggested I put something in the trach. I could only fit a 4.0 ETT but I could not ventilate, so then I intubated from above with a 6.5 and coordinated pulling the 4 out while I passed the 6.5
I have never met an otolaryngologist or an orthopedist in person. I have never seen an anesthesiologist. I have seen an CRNA once.
The first pediatric airway of my life and career was on an overnight shift, alone (I am always alone) where I had a miller 1 direct and an LMA. That is all. Nothing else. No back up. I got it... because I had to, what was the other option?
On slow days we have 20 in the dept at one time and I can breathe. On a busy day 30-40.
We see patient's in the WR. I work for corporate medicine. No one waits. I'm only a year out. I haven't even started paying my loans. I feel like I can't keep doing this. Is this what it is like other places? I feel like my situation might be on the extreme side, but it's all I know.
Despite the already slim coverage, they are cutting our overlap even more moving forward. Patients will and are getting hurt in order to minimize physician hours and maximize profit. Fuck corporate medicine.

Dear Internet,
As you may have seen, Technodad and I have just launched the Festival of Voices. We have been working on this since February. I have been working on this every single day since February. This has been my life for MONTHS and I couldn’t tell you all. I wanted so desperately to tell you though. Believe me, I did. BUT NOW I CAN TOTALLY TELL YOU!!! LOOK AT THAT THING WE DID!!! LOOK AT WHAT WE BUILT!! It wasn’t perfect, but it truly had the spirit of Technoblade in it. We may have limped along but we never stopped, AND we raised SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!! I am exhausted, but so violently proud of it.
I want to say thank you to a couple of people because I believe in credit where credit is due. Icy, my day one on this. She was studying with me the day that Technodad first responded to me on Reddit. I told her I had a thing I needed help with, and 5 minutes later she texted me a Discord username she made just for this. She has let me sleep on her floor and eat her party muffins and sob uncontrollably at her desk. She has stood by me on this since the moment the idea slid into my brain. She was the one who saw me fall apart, she was there through every doubt, and every issue. She held my hand as we posted the announcements. She hugged me when I needed it. Without her, this would not have happened. I would have fallen flat on my face without her support. I don’t think I will ever be able to fully explain the depth of my gratitude.
Hous, Boomer, and Scar, my weird little internet siblings. They let me burst right into this little community they made, and they handled how quickly everything snowballed with a tremendous amount of grace. They deserve so much love for how quickly they adapted to my breakneck pace. But they also helped keep me sane. They keep my feet firmly on the ground, and I love them for it. Thank you for letting me keep my secrets, and learning a million and one things I asked you to. They are the brightest kids I know, and a testament to the power of young people. I have no doubts in my mind that they will all go on to do beautiful and amazing things.
Code, Spanner, Kiran, and Bump, the OGs. These guys have known me on the internet the longest. They watched me grow up, make a million and one mistakes and bounce back from them. They have seen me when I was a disaster and chose to stick with me anyway. I am so glad we found our way back together and I wouldn’t have picked a better team to build this dream with. They are truly incredible developers, certified geniuses, and WAY overqualified to be my tech support. I am so proud of that team, I am so proud to have worked with them, and I am so proud to continue to do so. Thank you for meeting stupid deadlines, your endless patience towards me, and your brilliant minds. I love you guys.
Tommy, the man himself. I was so initially nervous to work with him, but through this entire process, he has been unfailingly kind, endlessly patient, and beyond supportive. Since the moment we pitched it to him, Tommy has gone above and beyond to make this happen in the capacity that it has. He has shown up in ways I never expected of him. I am so proud to say I worked with him on this, and even more honored to consider him a friend. This man truly does not get enough credit for how cool he is.
Ranboo, king boober if you will. Thank you for helping me pivot. There was a time I was completely in freefall and they reached out and caught me and helped me screw my head on straight. I wake up every day in the life I thought I could only dream about, in part thanks to you. You are insane, ADHD, eccentric, and so SO thoroughly weird it's ridiculous. But we are the same. You have taught me so much about myself and the world around me these last few months, even if it was entirely by accident. In our first conversation you said “Not just one of us, two of us.” and I had no way of knowing just how true that was going to be. I had no clue. Whatever cosmic forces or god or even Alex pulled some strings to make this happen, did it in the most SPECTACULAR way. I will never be able to thank you enough. You have a pretty decent idea already though.

2023.06.04 05:48 Lazy-Action1256 My (20M) girlfriend (21F) has been ignoring my calls and texts for almost a week.
A little bit of backstory: my family history is not all that great and I know this personally. My parents were separated (never married) since before I was 4 years old so I never really got to see them together. This considered, my dad still stayed in my life and tried his best to give me good experiences when growing up and supported my mom with child support for me while I was staying with her. My mom on the other hand, is super lazy and whenever she would try to go for a new career would always find an excuse to not take that career. This resulted in me and my siblings living in housing for most of our lives (aside from me when I was staying with my dad). As a note, my siblings are only half-siblings and were born from a different dad (we’ll call him James) who my mom had dated before my dad. James, on the other hand, wasn't supportive of my siblings and actually moved to a different state to go date other women and make a new life out there.
All of that considered, me and my mom were having a rough patch a few months ago before I called her about three weeks ago. However, I’m not the best at standing up for myself when it comes to my parents so my girlfriend was there to help guide me with what to say to my mom. So, after the first time calling her, me and my girlfriend also discussed on what she had said and how far gone she is. It makes sense since my mom has been pretty isolated in housing for the past 20 years and doesn't go outside unless it's to get food or groceries.
However, as it turned out, I regretted calling my mom with my girlfriend since it started an argument with me and my gf where I would agree with the words she said but she didn't think that I saw her point of view. So, we spent the next few days talking about my mom and what I think about her. Personally, I don't like talking negatively about my parents unless I'm already angry at them for something, but I still agreed with what my gf had said. But, again, she kept going until she felt like she had gotten her point across (which I felt was too much).
Anyways, now it seemed like whenever my gf would get mad at me that she would make me call my mom with her listening in, almost as a way of reminding me how bad of a person my mom is. So, after the second time (there were only three times we did this), I felt like she was using me calling my mom as a way to feel better about the arguments we were having. But, I will say that the information we heard from my mom was valuable in seeing how far gone she was. We found out that my mom preferred James over my dad even though my dad was much more supportive of me than James was of my siblings. The reason for this was that James was the type of guy who my mom could have fun with and wasn't worried about spending money whereas my dad was very conscientious of his money.
So, what my gf and I were talking about in regard to my mom were true statements (her being delusional), but I still felt like it shouldn't take days to get that point across and I would rather be spending time playing games or watching shows/movies with my gf than talking about how my mom.
Now for what happened this past Saturday: my cousin was having a graduation party and I went and asked my gf if she wanted to come. Note that my gf hasn't met much of my family outside of my mom or dad, so her coming to the party and meeting everyone would take a lot of energy. Add that onto the fact that she has work on the weekends and it's understandable that she would just want to stay home after work. So, she said she didn't want to come, but still wanted to see me after the party which was cool with me. So, I went to the party and I got a little buzzed with alcohol so I asked my dad to drive me back to his house and then me and my dad started talking while the alcohol was wearing off. I also started talking to my friend who lives next door since me and him don't get to talk all that much now. However, in this time, my gf was expecting me to come over to her place soon, but I let her know I had alcohol so was letting it wear off and was talking with my friend. She seemed to get angry since she was waiting on me and I was only texting her sparingly and that I'd come over soon, but wasn't really precise with when (this is a flaw of mine). But anyways we do end up hanging out and she is mad at me briefly, but then it seems like things become more like how they usually are between us, but I tell her that when I get home we wouldn't be able to talk since I had an assignment and it seemed like she was fine with that.
So I end up getting back to my apartment and by the time I'm home she's already asleep so I just get started on this assignment which I actually stayed up all night to do. That being considered, the next day (Sunday) when she gets back from work, we start talking over the phone briefly and I tell her that I'm almost done with my assignment so I'd spend time with her afterwards. So, she kept asking me for a time estimate or an estimate of how much percent I'm done, (which is kind of hard with coding assignments because of all the potential bugs), but I said like 80-90%. So when it was taking longer than expected, she was getting angry with me and was telling me that if I shouldn't have gone to the party the day prior if I knew I had an assignment that was going to take this long. I said I understood that, but I said that this school semester has been really busy for me and I quite literally have homework all week, so there's no point in really cancelling going to the party if this week is like any other week.
Keep in mind also that because this semester has been really busy for me, that me and her do spend a lot of time together, but not as much as last semester, so there's been many situations where she was waiting to spend time with me but I was busy. Anyways, me and her argued this night over her waiting on me to finish my assignment and going to the party, etc. But, then she also brought up my mom at the end of this argument and said how I'm her son so I'm like her.
Ever since that argument she's been ignoring my calls and texts, but still has the "seen" notification on for the social medias where it shows that, so I know that she can see my messages. So, my question is why is she ignoring me? Is it because she's breaking up with me, or that she's just really mad (and wants me to say something to her) or because she wants me to experience the pain of not being able to spend time with her like she has felt like with me (only a lot worse)?
This is my first relationship advice post (on a new account), so if more information is needed then let me know. Keep in mind that this is just the negative stuff and there's many positives with being in a relationship with her, but I can only get the feeling that letting her know too much about my mom's bad history has clouded her judgement of me as a person. Now I feel like she looks at me like I'm a much worse person after knowing all that my mom's done, whereas when it was just me without my mom's history, I felt like she looked at me like I was a better person. I love her more than anything else in the world and I'm just desperate, so if anyone has advice, let me know.

This isn’t something major, but it’s been on my mind since it happened. A few days ago I received a phone call past 12:30 AM. I was asleep as I had to be up for work at 6:30 but the phone call woke me. It was a no caller ID call so I was curious on who the hell was calling me at this ungodly hour of the night.
I was half asleep when I answered. I said “hello?” I was met with silence for a few seconds when some woman responded “Is this OP?” I said “yes” and then she asked “do you remember your ex B?” Now B was an abusive, manipulative shithole of a man. It’s hard to forget someone who threatened to take a video of setting you on fire for your family to watch. I said “yes” again and then she said what really bothered me “well can you stop texting him?” I said “what the fuck” and hung up.
I haven’t talked to B in 2 or 3 years. I’m now in a happy relationship and I’ve grown a lot since then. After the call I checked if I could see the number, with apple you can “copy” the no caller ID number and paste it to see the phone number. I checked the area code and it was for nothern Mississippi.
I live in fuckin’ Ontario. I know no one from Mississippi, like absolutely no one with makes this even stranger. Who is this woman? How the hell did she get my phone number? And what’s happening to make her think I’m texting B? No one in my life right now besides my boyfriend knows about B, mostly because I’m embarrassed of what happened in that relationship. Even the people from my past that knew about him don’t have my phone number. There’s no way anyone can access that because i don’t put it online anywhere.
The strangeness of it has been on my mind since it happened. Lady, whoever you are, wherever you are, I hope and wish you find the self love to get away from that man.

36/m. started a music production and artist management company after high school. graduated from business school.
could not find a job in an office after college so i kept at music and supported it with low-wage general labor jobs. pretty soon my body was in bad shape from those jobs and so in my late 20s i doubled down trying to find an office job. tried temp services, tried career coaches, did so much therapy…tried applying to government roles, customer service roles, IT roles, no luck.
so recently i got into coding and did a bootcamp, and i got pretty good at it but i haven’t been able to get any interviews. ive been applying for jobs for the last 6+ months, going to job fairs and networking events, using linkedin to follow up with people… no interviews, nothing.
i also tried moving to a bigger city during this time and that hasn’t helped.
ive been working so hard my whole adult life just to find a job or career, and i can’t get my foot in the door anywhere.
i feel like a joke, and obviously dating without a career is hard AF and that’s a very painful part of life

The State of Time is a relatively small and surrealist/sci-fi world building project that I started working on earlier this year. I aim for the project to take the form of a vaguely house of leaves styled "complete guide" to the State of Time, a fantastical, somewhat eerie and arguably disturbing albeit ultimately good-natured utopian society of humans who reside on Xanthys, a massive space station that orbits Earth at all points in time simultaneously.
Xanthys is chock full of ridiculously advanced technology and I'd like to share a few aspects of it.
The people of Xanthys posses knowledge and technology that enables them to easily transfer 100% of a human consciousness into another body, computer or hard-drive. This, combined with their mastery of cloning and genetic engineering allows the people of Xanthys to not be restricted to their birth bodies. Instead, the average "Xanthysian" actually possesses a multitude of bodies that they can swap their consciousness between at any time via a process that takes less than 1 minute.
Essentially, if a Xanthysian is dissatisfied with their birth body for any reason. They can commission a genetic engineer to make them a new and practically flawless body in full accordance to the clients wildest desires. If a Xanthysian wishes for any of their new bodies to be based on persons with inaccessible genetic codes or fictional characters who are either realistically or unrealistically designed. Advanced computers can analyze pictures of the aforementioned subjects and access a genetic archive of the human species to come up with an assortment of genetic codes that fit the clients desired body. When not in use, the bodies are stored in stacked hypersleep pods that are in turn, stored in a closet-like chamber within peoples homes.
Furthermore, if a Xanthysian desires a body that is non-human, vaguely-human, anthropomorphic, or thoroughly alien. The aforementioned computers can access a greater genetic archive of all life that has existed on Earth, once more, using advanced algorithms to create fully functioning genetic codes for what could very well be a completely new organism.
If one of a Xanthysians bodies require medical attention, they can simply transfer their consciousness into another body while the injured body undergoes surgery and If they do not have another body, their consciousness can be temporarily stored in a computer with this process effectively replacing anesthesia.
Xanthysians are both biologically and psychologically immortal. Although their minds are still subject to time and may degrade with age, mental ailments amongst Xanthysians are easily rectifiable, once again by uploading a persons consciousness into a computer and translating it into code which can be altered. Xanthysians can live indefinitely but none of them have made it to 1,000 years as they tend to grow bored with living after a few to several centuries and may choose to simply delete their consciousnesses from existence.
Xanthysians can record their dreams, edit them, replay them and share them. Their equivalent to video games involves uploading their minds into personalized, shared or multiplayer simulations that are so flawlessly designed, that they are nearly indistinguishable from a reality. Some Xanthysians may choose to spend significant periods of time in simulated realities and they can communicate with people in reality from simulated realities.
The State of Time is an anarchist or near-anarchist society. As a result, it has no concept of poverty or crime and because the SoT is extremely permissive, there is little to no incentive for prisons. However, in the extraordinarily rare event that a member of the society must be forcibly isolated or reformed, this is achieved via something called a "Mind Prison" in which an offending persons mind is trapped within a hyper-adaptive simulation designed to reform them.

It was one of those brief moments when I was on my own. Just after I separated from my working herd but before I joined my familial herd. I bought some nice fruit salad from a place down the street. As I made my way to my way to the plaza I saw that musical duet was performing there. The duo was made up of a venlil and a Krakotl. And they were performing a popular pop song by some band, ‘I love you like the Herd’ by ‘The Sneeples’ I think? To be honest I wasn't too familiar with the current trends in music, I've always listened to what my mother listened to. Never gave it much thought really. I noticed how many people had stopped to listen to them play.
I want people to see me like that! It would be so cool! To be a star, to guide the herd instead of just following it? Wouldn’t that be spectacular? Or even impress Vemly…
I figure I should find a seat, realizing there isn’t any room in the plaza itself. I have to search Elsewhere.
I look round the corner to see… a human! I have never seen one in person before but here? the closest shelter is a city over. And they seem to be alone. Which seems unusual. They don't seem to notice me so that's good. My curiosity getting the better of me, I made my way to a seat where I could watch the predator without being noticed.
The human was holding their head in their hands, their gaze presumably cast down toward the concrete tiles of the plaza though I had no way to be sure thanks to the glossy black mask that covered their face. They didn't seem to be moving aside from one of their legs bouncing seemingly in time with the music.
My meal was almost finished when suddenly the predator rose from their seat and started walking towards the buskers. At their full height, they were quite tall, but maybe my shorter-than-average stature was to blame.
Their approach caused the gathered crowd to scatter most people. those that remained kept their distance. When the human arrived at the buskers' setup the krakotl singer faltered and forgot the lyrics. The human tilted their head at this and seemed to study them for a moment before pulling out their pad and touching it to the tip receiver before turning to leave.
If a predator can appreciate our music they can’t possibly be so bad right?
Someone must have called the exterminators because exterminator officer Ezin and two other officers arrived on the scene.
The exterminators showed up almost too quickly. usually, they’re really slow, like that time when-
The exterminators raised their flamethrowers toward the human
“Predator! You’re coming with me” Ezin yelled at the human.
The human raised their hands and was quickly restrained by the two officers, with the head exterminator turning to the crowd.
Ezin addressed the crowd
“Civilians! Thanks to my hard work the predator has been restrained and you are safe once more!”
It doesn't seem like the predator didn't do anything wrong… why are they being taken away?
My need to find out what is going on overriding all my better judgment I decided to follow the exterminators to the Deep Lake office.
But first I’m finishing my fruit salad.

I arrived at the exterminator's office and headed up to the front desk. There was a snowy white venlil at the counter.
“You here about the recent incident?” she droned, without even taking her eyes off her pad.
There has been an incident?
“No I'm just here about the human from the plaza” I responded
“Just saying yes would've wasted much less of my time sir” the venlil responded, only now seeming to have found the time to look up from her pad.
“Just wait here and someone will be with you in a moment” She pointed to the seats set up at the side of the room. They were all empty.
even I couldn’t find any more reason to talk to this person so I sat down at the end.
These chairs really aren't very comfortable… no matter, ill be through in a jiffy.
Maybe I’ll have a look at these pamphlets to pass some time.
I reach over to the stand picking out the first one available,
‘What to do If a predator moves into your apartment?’
No thanks, I've had enough stress already.

I spun the stand around and spotted a hand-drawn-looking pamphlet. My curiosity piqued I opened it up.
‘Exterminator Ezin for emperor’
The Venlil don't even have a president. How can you get a role that doesn't exist? And I'm pretty sure you won't become emperor by winning an election.
Anyway, what time is it? I feel like I’ve been waiting for more than a claw, I should really be home by now.
“Anaw, come on up” It was the senior exterminator Koll. I have seen him a couple times on the local news giving important announcements. If you've ever seen a buff venlil, you haven’t. Not until you have seen Koll. It's been said that he once fought an entire squadron of armors, bare-paw, on his own, and won. After which he retired to live a more peaceful life on venlil prime. Though that’s hard to believe, When I saw him in person, standing in Infront of me? I could believe it.
Koll asked me to give a brief rundown of the whole incident, a request which I had no trouble complying with.
After a moment of contemplation koll spoke “Well, That does it then, the incident was clearly bogus and the human will be free to go.”
Koll gestured for me to follow him. We walked down the hall and then to the cell where the human was being held.
The predator looked up at Koll and then at me. Prompting Koll to start inputting the code on the cell, Koll broke the silence.
“Well predator, looks like a witness showed up and your stories match, you're free to go, get out of here.”
The senior exterminator left the room, leaving me with the predator… alone.
The predator rose to their full height. Turning their head right at me.
I've actually never met a human before. What do I do? Are they plotting to eat me? Maybe I should've read that pamphlet.
“Hey, thanks.” the predator spoke softly. Their voice was bassy and smooth, not nearly as loud as I expected.
I thought predators were supposed to growl or be aggressive! They probably don't want to scare me. I'm still really afraid though. Is that rude? Am I a bad person for being afraid?
They continued in their soft inflection.
“I don't think Sargent Fluff for brains would've let me out any time soon, so seriously, thanks for the help”
Sargent fluff for brains? Are they talking about Exterminator Ezin?
I finally mustered up the courage to speak to the human
“n-no p-problem h-human”
The human lifted one hand to their mask, presumably where their chin would be. This gave me a chance to get a good look at them. The flesh of their paw, which I think they call hands, was a smooth pinkish-white, each finger being topped by a wide flat claw that was pink almost to the tip of their finger. Where they became white. Their glossy black mask covered their face entirely but left the back of their head exposed. the human had wavy yellow fur that reached all the way to their shoulders. They were wearing a thick top garment in navy blue, it had sleeves that reached all way to their wrists and had a hood that the human wasn't currently using. Their bottom garment was the same color but seemed to be made out of a rougher material.
The human stuck out their hand In what I recognized to be a greeting gesture.
“I’m Colton by the way. It's nice to meet you”
I placed my paw in their hand and they shook it up and down very gently as if they were unsure about the action themselves.
“I- I’m Anaw” my voice quivered
“It's nice to meet you, Anaw, though I have some belongings I have to collect”
Colton began walking to the front desk of the building. Curiosity once again won out over my need for sleep and I followed the human as they approached the desk. The white venlil was still there, and still seemed to be distracted by their pad, doom-scrolling Bleat probably. The attendant looks up from their pad and looks completely uninterested in the predator staring down at her. She looks back down making a clear effort to ignore the human.
“Can I get my guitar back now?” Colton asked the attendant.
“Confiscated weapons will be kept as evidence.” the attendant droned.
“My guitar is not a weapon! It's a musical instrument. It's personal, I need it.” pleaded Colton.
This finally made the lady look up from her pad with curiosity. Apparently thrown off by the human's response.
The human wants an instrument back? That means that this human must be a musician!
At that moment Exterminator Ezin stepped out of his office, Now that he was out of uniform the full mass of his grey was on display. He wore a bandage around one of his paws. Seems like his shift was over and was on his way out.
How do you even pack so much wool into an exterminator uniform?
The Exterminator must have been listening in on the conversation because he smirked almost predatorily.
Ezin spoke “Predator if you can somehow prove that primitive club isn't a weapon,”
Venom laced his tone, “Then you can have it back.”
The exterminator raised his bandaged hand toward the human.
“But I doubt you'll be able to.” Ezin gloated with the confidence of someone who knew they were untouchable.
Colton didn't give the exterminator the chance to goad them further and made for the exit. Shoving their clenched fists into their pockets.
If the human is a musician, then they must know a lot about music! Vemly is really into human culture, if I could learn all about human music or even learn to play some then she would definitely be impressed!
I followed Colton out of the exterminator's office and steeled my nerves. I have to ask them if they could show me some human music! And then I can ask them to teach me? Before I could change my mind I yelled out.
“Colton! Wait!”
The human stopped.
“C-can you show me?.. Your Human music?”

Anyway, what time is it? I feel like I’ve been waiting for more than a claw, I should really be home by now.
“Anaw, come on up” It was the senior exterminator Koll. I have seen him a couple times on the local news giving important announcements. If you've ever seen a buff venlil, you haven’t. Not until you have seen Koll. It's been said that he once fought an entire squadron of armors, bare-paw, on his own, and won. After which he retired to live a more peaceful life on venlil prime. Though that’s hard to believe, When I saw him in person, standing in Infront of me? I could believe it.
Koll asked me to give a brief rundown of the whole incident, a request which I had no trouble complying with.
After a moment of contemplation koll spoke “Well, That does it then, the incident was clearly bogus and the human will be free to go.”
Koll gestured for me to follow him. We walked down the hall and then to the cell where the human was being held.
The predator looked up at Koll and then at me. Prompting Koll to start inputting the code on the cell, Koll broke the silence.
“Well predator, looks like a witness showed up and your stories match, you're free to go, get out of here.”
The senior exterminator left the room, leaving me with the predator… alone.
The predator rose to their full height. Turning their head right at me.
I've actually never met a human before. What do I do? Are they plotting to eat me? Maybe I should've read that pamphlet.
“Hey, thanks.” the predator spoke softly. Their voice was bassy and smooth, not nearly as loud as I expected.
I thought predators were supposed to growl or be aggressive! They probably don't want to scare me. I'm still really afraid though. Is that rude? Am I a bad person for being afraid?
They continued in their soft inflection.
“I don't think Sargent Fluff for brains would've let me out any time soon, so seriously, thanks for the help”
Sargent fluff for brains? Are they talking about Exterminator Ezin?
I finally mustered up the courage to speak to the human
“n-no p-problem h-human”
The human lifted one hand to their mask, presumably where their chin would be. This gave me a chance to get a good look at them. The flesh of their paw, which I think they call hands, was a smooth pinkish-white, each finger being topped by a wide flat claw that was pink almost to the tip of their finger. Where they became white. Their glossy black mask covered their face entirely but left the back of their head exposed. the human had wavy yellow fur that reached all the way to their shoulders. They were wearing a thick top garment in navy blue, it had sleeves that reached all way to their wrists and had a hood that the human wasn't currently using. Their bottom garment was the same color but seemed to be made out of a rougher material.
The human stuck out their hand In what I recognized to be a greeting gesture.
“I’m Colton by the way. It's nice to meet you”
I placed my paw in their hand and they shook it up and down very gently as if they were unsure about the action themselves.
“I- I’m Anaw” my voice quivered
“It's nice to meet you, Anaw, though I have some belongings I have to collect”
Colton began walking to the front desk of the building. Curiosity once again won out over my need for sleep and I followed the human as they approached the desk. The white venlil was still there, and still seemed to be distracted by their pad, doom-scrolling Bleat probably. The attendant looks up from their pad and looks completely uninterested in the predator staring down at her. She looks back down making a clear effort to ignore the human.
“Can I get my guitar back now?” Colton asked the attendant.
“Confiscated weapons will be kept as evidence.” the attendant droned.
“My guitar is not a weapon! It's a musical instrument. It's personal, I need it.” pleaded Colton.
This finally made the lady look up from her pad with curiosity. Apparently thrown off by the human's response.
The human wants an instrument back? That means that this human must be a musician!
At that moment Exterminator Ezin stepped out of his office, Now that he was out of uniform the full mass of his grey was on display. He wore a bandage around one of his paws. Seems like his shift was over and was on his way out.
How do you even pack so much wool into an exterminator uniform?
The Exterminator must have been listening in on the conversation because he smirked almost predatorily.
Ezin spoke “Predator if you can somehow prove that primitive club isn't a weapon,”
Venom laced his tone, “Then you can have it back.”
The exterminator raised his bandaged hand toward the human.
“But I doubt you'll be able to.” Ezin gloated with the confidence of someone who knew they were untouchable.
Colton didn't give the exterminator the chance to goad them further and made for the exit. Shoving their clenched fists into their pockets.
If the human is a musician, then they must know a lot about music! Vemly is really into human culture, if I could learn all about human music or even learn to play some then she would definitely be impressed!
I followed Colton out of the exterminator's office and steeled my nerves. I have to ask them if they could show me some human music! And then I can ask them to teach me? Before I could change my mind I yelled out.
“Colton! Wait!”
The human stopped.
“C-can you show me?.. Your Human music?”

2023.06.04 04:53 Plutuwastaken i need help fixing a roblox ragdoll script
Keep this in mind, I have ZERO clue how coding works. I don't plan on really putting too much effort into learning code, because it wont be a main focus in my life. I'm currently attemping to make a ragdoll game similar to that of "Ragdoll Shotgun", since the original creators of that game seemed to have abandoned it. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to make a constant ragdolled body work. The closest I've gotten is a ragdolled body, but the torso holds up the flailing limbs. The plan is to have a move-able, ragdoll body with all limbs visible. It's in r6 exclusively if that helps. Thanks!

- Carried and used this knife while working on the yard. It's cut paper, hair, bags of potting soil, fertilizer, mulch, etc.
- Never disassembled, sharpened, stropped, etc. Still paper cutting sharp but not shaving.
- This is the CQI version (date code AV on the box) which fixed the lock disengage flaw in the first iteration.
- It has some very minor vertical play if you wiggle the tip of the blade. I posted about this on the Spyderco forums as my only experience with their backlocks is a Native 5 which was rock solid. Apparently this is common and expected on some of the backlock Spyderco product lines. Doesn't show up on video but you can feel it if you're manipulating it just right. Drops shut about half way (right onto your finger if you aren't choked up all the way).
