My 6 month old Pomeranian pup has, seemingly out of nowhere, started ripping all his toys to shreds. In the last couple of weeks he has destroyed every soft toy we've ever given him, chewing holes and ripping stuffing out. He likes to gnaw at the seams until he makes a hole.
I went to the pet store and bought him some of the toys marketed towards extreme chewers. All of them claimed to be the toughest toy on the market. None of them lasted more than 5 minutes before he had ripped them up. One was even made in part with kevlar!
Our trainer has suggested we just remove all soft toys from him, which is fine with me, but I'm concerned he will take out this instinct on our soft furnishings instead. We're with him all the time when he is not crated right now, so I can keep an eye on him, but if we start leaving him home alone soon I don't want to come home to a destroyed couch.
Is this just a phase he's going through that will eventually give out or are we only going to be able to give him non-soft toys from now on? Is there anything I can do to make sure this behaviour doesn't translate to our more expensive possessions?
Finally, does anyone have a recommendation for a toy that he would be able to chew on and squeak without ripping it to bits in minutes?

My dog is 3 year old golden retrievejindo hybrid that we raised since he was a puppy. He was pretty well socialized as a puppy and he loves people. He would even pull towards any stranger we pass nearby on our walks so he can get petted. He’s also very playful. He was totally ok with other dogs until the past year I noticed when another dog sniffs him for too long or jumps on his back he will snarl aggressively and almost looks like he is about to bite them. Not sure if he actually intends to bite them or just trying to back off the other dog. What causes this behavior? He will do this whether leashed or not and mostly to dogs close to his size. He hasn’t done this to small dogs yet. This happened today at a dog friendly outlet when a person approached mine with her dog while we were sitting at a bench waiting for my wife to come out of the store.
An example of an off leash situation was when last week we had a family bbq and met my cousins friends puppy(lab) for the first time(there were 3 other small dogs there) and he was very playful so kept on going around my dog sniffing and occasionally jumping on him but my dog didn’t like that and aggressively backed him off. I assumed my dog was just trying to show who the dominant one was but otherwise he was comfortable with him. He even went and sniffed around him later and played around. No dogs were leashed, all loose in an enclosed yard. It just happens when other dogs of similar size starts physically interacting with him. I’m a little worried that one day he will actually bite and harm another dog. I don’t usually let him interact with another dog while leashed, btw.

As the title says. I have really bad anxiety and depression so leaving my house for fun is a special occasion lmao. I enjoy doll collecting, fashion (casually interested), lil peep and many other genres of music, animals. i also game on ps5 and some games on pc and switch, like overwatch 2, stardew valley, things like that.
I recently got into Harry Potter and have begun reading again so i’m down to talk about some books. I work at a pet store irl. Willing to trade discords and selfies after some conversation and trust is established.
edit: down for all kinds of friends, male, female, anything else.

battery - really anywhere between 6 - 10 hrs of sot. factors such as display resolution, refresh rate and performance profile actually have a minimal impact on this in my experience but using cellular instead of wifi is likely to reduce your sot by 1-2 hours. mobile hotspots barely drain from my experience.
performance - zzzzzzzzzzzzzz what can i say. I don't game much but most games sip power. I do still find it a little weird how the phone is pretty laggy when booting up though. itll show a 4 or 5 second startup dialogue then be really slow for the next 10-15 seconds. would be nice if it was smooth right off the bat like iphone.
camera - the main 12/50/200 lens is very refined. would be cool is the app could let you tune the brightness/exposure better since i feel like just tapping the frame makes it too bright. remember to get camera assistant.
- disabling auto hdr (its really aggressive and createsa weird outlining around subjects) and scene optimiser
- setting picture softening to off or medium
- enabling quick tap shutter and prioritise focus over speed
- disable auto lens switching if it is enabled.
Features - S pen is cool i use it sometimes, the phone itself is a feature because of the freedom you get.
UI - notifs are good. quick panel is bloated. otherwise the user experience is pretty similar to ios.
Apps - This is probably my biggest pet peeve but it mostly isnt samsungs fault either. Some apps that work so well on ios are just terrible on android. It really annoys me when im scrolling and there is a stutter because the app is poorly optimised. Reddit app is just trash. instagram is half functional -> there is currently a bug on android that hasnt been fixed in ages where certain ig users cannot scroll reels normally.
Browser - The phone falls a little short. on my friends 14 pro max and on my ipad pro, browsing speeds on any browser in general (safari specifically) are STUPIDLY FAST. as fast as my gaming pc. You cannot get this on the samsung. Chrome is the fastest on this phone in my experience.
galaxy store - why am i greeted with an ad every time I open it and why is a native samsung app so stuttery in terms of loading and scrolling.
Display - resolution/sharpness is literally 500ppi. vivid mode is alright but I recommend using any debug settings tool to restore the old display settings. I prefer amoled cinema which targets dcip3. I do not like how hdr content locks brightness.
"ecosystem" - i dont really know anyone who rocks a full samsung setup but messaging to other androids is almost like imessage. quickshare is also really really impressive. windows sync apps like intel unison and phone link DO NOT replace the iphone + macbook feel like people make it seem.
Customisation - good lock lets you customise many things. Would be cool if there was an inbuilt way of editing app icons/creating shortcuts. There is also a pretty small ecosystem of good widget apps. a lot of the widget apps available on the play store have really backdated designs as if they were made for the android 5.

Introduction
1) Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs?
Yes it will be the first dog I've owned or lived with. However, I've been a dog-walker / sitter for 10 years with lots of breeds (such as husky, basset hound, beagle, Jack Russell, Yorkshire terrier, Pyrenees mountain dog, rottweiler, and many more) and I'm qualified at a university degree level with domestic animal care and I've been doing research on dogs since I can remember. Dogs are a big part of my life.
2) Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a reputable breeder?
I have no particular preference, but I would like a puppy.
3) Describe your ideal dog.
Very trainable and loves to learn tricks. I can provide a lot of mental stimulation. A good companion dog who likes to me around me. Minimal loud barking. A dog that loves to play, learn new things, and adventure but is OK with some chill days and is adaptable. Is OK with being off-lead and does not have a high prey drive (so, doesn't run away chasing squirrels and rabbits). A dog that can live with other dogs and cats.
4) What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why?
Toy poodle -> very trainable and smart, minimal shedding/hypoallergenic (not a necessity but a plus), loves to play and get moderate exercise but doesn't require intensive exercise, they seem cuddly lol.
Miniature American shepherd / Australian Shepherd / border collie -> very trainable, loves to learn tricks and be mentally stimulated, looks adorable, however needs a lot of exercise or a job, not the most adaptable, I worry about getting this dog as a first-time owner.
Pembroke/Cardigan Welsh corgi -> trainable and playful, but can be stubborn/bossy and prone to barking.
Other breeds I've looked into: golden retriever, Labrador retriever, German shepherd, Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever, Swedish vallhund, Japanese spitz, Norwegian bunhund, Eurasier, Shetland sheepdog, Norwegian elkhound, Finnish lapphund, smooth/rough collie, Samoyed.
5) What sorts of things would you like to train your dog to do?
Anything and everything! The important would be potty training and walking off-lead and playing fetch. But doing things like playing volleyball, dancing, and hide and seek would be SO much fun.
6) Do you want to compete with your dog in a sport (e.g. agility, obedience, rally) or use your dog for a form of work (e.g. hunting, herding, livestock guarding)? If so, how much experience do you have with this work/sport?
A companion dog with potentially recreational sport activities during free time. No working.
Care Commitments
7) How long do you want to devote to training, playing with, or otherwise interacting with your dog each day?
It's difficult to say. I would most likely be spending almost all my spare time with my dog, but I'd still like a dog that has a good off-switch. 3-4 hours on weekdays, and more on weekends?
8) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park?
1-2 hours most days. Some days 0 walks or maybe around the block. Some days long hikes and 4+ hour walks. Dog parks, walks on the beach and in forests, regular fetch, swimming.
9) How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly?
I would be OK with doing all sorts of maintenance with home or at a groomers. I would prefer lower maintenance, but I'm not very bothered.

10) What size dog are you looking for?
Any size between a toy poodle and a Eurasier. I like medium sized dogs but I'm not that bothered.
11) How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle?
Shedding I have no issue with. Slobbering, I would highly prefer little to none. For barking, I get very nervous at sudden loud noises. I don't mind quieter barks (or yaps), and chatty / howling dogs who aren't loud are fine. I understand that it's often possible to train out barking tenancies, but it's something I'd prefer not to deal with. I also get that inevitably, a lot of dogs are gonna bark and I'm fine with that.
12) How important is being able to let your dog off-leash in an unfenced area?
Very important!
