2023.06.04 06:20 Rethtalos A Fair Wishlist for Dragons Dogma 2

For starters, let me just say like all of you, I was Über glad to see DD2 be officially revealed. Dark Arisen still tops my 5 fav games of all time so to say I’m hype for the sequel is an understatement. The announcement has me so fired up I went back and have been playing the first game again and it still holds up yet did notice some minor areas the sequel could improve. I can’t wait to see what the team can do on current gen! I do have a wishlist of things I’d hope to see at launch or a future update though, and here they are…
•Expanded character creator -not to say it didn’t already have a good creator, even for a ps3 era game but seeing those new models in the trailer I cannot wait to make my Arisen and Pawn again! Even tho there was only a few base selections you could pick, I’m still impressed you could make your character skinny/curvy/large/muscular without having the proportions looking off like in some games. Would enjoy an in-depth sliders system as apposed to the lesser triangle distributer . I hope they push the sliders to the limit(like how some games still kinda have small breasts/thighs even when on MAX slider) -Would also like them to allow both male and female presenting characters to be topless(OKAY HEAR ME OUT)as there’s nothing wrong with female breasts. If they have issues showing nipples(which they shouldn’t) they can do what they already did for some enemies and just not show them. All the harpies in the game were topples and just had smooth breasts and that blue feathered monster in the new trailer was the same. Would be a nice step forward in normalizing women’s bodies, it’s 2023 we still shouldn’t be having this debate
•Change vocations/ Gear on the fly -It is a bit of an inconvenience in the first game having to go to an inn anytime you want to change vocations. I think it would be a nice QoL improvement having gear and class sets you can easily equip and swap to while outside of battle. If there’s still the carry weight system, you could probably only hold a few gear sets anyways so Of course you can still go to an inn and change there as well!
•No genderlocked items/gear - I feel this is a simple enough request. For example, Was a little upset only female presenting characters could wear “silk lingerie” yet male presenting characters could not. -Also how some gear would completely change it’s look depending on the gender the character was. Like how “leather chest plate” on males was about what you’d expect whereas on females it was just a leather bra.. Or if they do still have it similar to that at least let us toggle between the two variations??? -Also, hope sexy and cool gear to make a return with no restrictions on who can wear it!!
•A lovely, much appreciated Glamor system - this could be the real use of the inns ❤️‍🔥 Allowing us to wear one item and having it appear as another ✅ can go to an in and apply glamours to gear you’re using. Could even make it so you’re only able to when an item has reached upgrade level 3 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ This is another QoL they could implement in a later update if it’s not in the base game!!
•Vocations can equip all their weapons at once - Basically, if I’m playing as magic archer, I should be able to have my daggers/bow/staff equipped all at once without having to swap in the inventory. Just a simple toggle between D-pad to go from bow to staff would do WONDERS
•Pawns can use special vocations -maybe this would be too OP but since it’s single player only I really don’t see the issue. Would love to have had my pawn rock Mystic Knight. Would love to see that change but could live if they kept pawns to basic vocations
Not much else comes to mind, I’m sure the map will be a bit bigger this time around. Which as long as there’s fun things to do in the overworked I think a smaller, richer map would continue to fit the gameplay well. I’m sure will see more smaller settlements around the map They already stated even more enemy types will be in the game which is exciting. Seeing the scary Gorgon and all smiles sphinx/harpy queen? In the trailer already let’s me know we’ll be eating good on that front! Honestly I’m super hyped for this game and even if some of these aren’t added I’ll still enjoy the game very much. Plus the improvements made from the base game to dragons dogma let me know they were willing to allow healthy feedback and update the game for the better! Anything you all would like to see at the launch of the game or in a future update? Anyway, Hope to summon your pawns from across the rift whenever the game releases, fellow Arisen!!

After a grueling five-year-long wait, Marvel fans everywhere will finally be able to return to the animated multiverse with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The upcoming sequel's predecessor requires no explanation, as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse not only ensnared audiences and critics alike but also caught a prestigious Oscar win with a Best Animated Feature award. With "New York's one and only Spider-Man," Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), now becoming a household name, fans of the first film eagerly awaited the day they could see young Miles swing into the Spider-Verse again.
Thankfully, the wait is almost finally over, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will return to screens soon. This time Miles will not only be reunited with Gwen Stacey (Hailee Steinfeld) and Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson) but he'll also be introduced to an entire multiversal society of Spider-people created and led by a particularly pessimistic variant of Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac). Though some of the other variants in this secretive organization view Miles as a nuisance more than anything else, they'll have to learn to put those apprehensions aside if they hope to save the multiverse from an all-new terrifying threat. As the release date for the sequel to one of the most celebrated Spider-Man films ever made crawls closer and closer
Everyone's favorite web-slinger from an alternate dimension returns for a second theatrical outing. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse continues the multiverse-spanning adventures of Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), one of the youngest and newest iterations of Spider-Man in his home dimension. A year after the events of Into the Spider-Verse, Miles is introduced to the Spider-Society, an immense organization of different Spider-People who hail from countless alternate dimensions.
The much-anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is only one day away, and fans can’t wait to see the new adventures of Miles Morales. Once the Sony Pictures-produced movie ends its theatrical run, it will come to the most popular streamers, including Netflix and Disney Plus. But when is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix and Disney Plus? Here is precisely where and how you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse online.

When Is the Release Date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was one of the many films to get hit by a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, moving from its original date of April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022. That's the date seen in the above trailer, but the film has since seen another significant delay since then. Now the film is officially set for release on June 2, 2023. Hopefully, we won't see another delay, but if it means getting a sequel that lives up to the sky-high heights of the original, we'll gladly wait.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in Theaters?
Not only was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse the subject of rave reviews, but it also pulled in some gargantuan levels of cash at the international box office, with a final tally that quadrupled the film's ninety-million dollar budget. With incredible success like that, it's only natural that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would also be taking advantage of a theatrical release. That is the case, as the upcoming film will be exclusively available in theaters when it premieres on June 2nd, 2023.

When is 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' streaming?
The home distribution rights for Across the Spider-Verse are in a rather interesting place. In April 2021, it was reported that Sony Studios had signed a multiyear deal with both Netflix and Disney for shared streaming rights to Sony films coming out between 2022 and 2026. This deal includes Across the Spider-Verse as well as the third film in the series, Beyond the Spider-Verse, due out in March 2024.
As for releases like Across the Spider-Verse, the film will be available on Netflix with "first-pay-window-rights" for the first 18 months of its home media release. While it will not be streaming concurrently with its theatrical release, it will be available on Netflix following its theatrical run.
Some of the films are not currently available on the service because Sony has pre-existing partnerships with Starz, as that's where most of the absent films are available to stream. That is except for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is instead only streaming on Fubo TV and FX Now.
For anyone else looking to watch the film as soon as possible, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on June 2.

How to Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
At the moment, you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.
Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. What's more, the production studio owns a number of other famous franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. Titles made under these umbrellas have both hit Disney+ sometime after arriving at the box office. Fans may also know the original Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently available to stream on the site as well. So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Disney+ later this year too.
As for an exact release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, that's more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.
When the time comes for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to splash onto Disney+ though, make sure you're all prepared to watch it. If you don't have access yet, you can opt into a 30-day free trial before choosing a plan that start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. After your account is all set, click on the title page on Disney+'s official website or the Disney+ app.
As you wait for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to hit the streamer, why don't you watch the animated version and its sequel Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse? Or if you want to immerse yourself in another live-action version, click on the 2019 ABC TV special Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Live!. Enjoy!

Where To Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Online:
As of now, the only way to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is to head out to a movie theater when it premieres on June 2, 2023. You can find a local showing on Fandango.
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023.
In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases.
This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Netflix release date.

When Will Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Be Available On Netflix?
Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film's theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.
This tracks with some of Sony's bigger releases of 2022. Films like Uncharted and Bullet Train were released on Netflix six and five months respectively after their release in theaters. Of course, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse could have other elements that see it release before or after this tentative six-month period, such as underperforming or exceeding expectations at the box office. Although, based on Sony's track record - including that of the first film - Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse can be expected on Netflix in the winter of 2023, likely December for a holiday release.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Disney Plus?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.
Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.
American fans will have to wait until 2024 to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and at least until 2025 for its sequel. We will update this post once there is an official Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Disney Plus release date.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comes from a joint effort of directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. The movie will swing into theaters on June 2, featuring the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, among others.

Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse available on Netflix? Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will eventually be on Netflix as a result of a deal inked between the streaming platform and the movie’s distributor, Sony Pictures. The deal gives the streamer U.S. rights to all the company’s theatrical films starting in 2022. While a streaming release date has not yet been announced, we can make an estimate based on another recent Sony film. The Woman King was released in theaters on Sept. 16, 2022, before it came to Netflix on Feb. 16, 2023 — around five months after it debuted. If Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse follows the same pattern, we could be watching from the comfort of our homes by early November 2023. However, a digital release date should arrive much sooner. The Storm Reid-led thriller Missing was released in theaters on Jan. 20 before becoming available to purchase or rent on March 7 — about 45 days after its debut. By that logic, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse should come to digital by late mid-July 2023. Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse available on Disney Plus? Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely release on Disney Plus between May–June 2025 at the earliest. This will be when Sony and Netflix’s pay one window 18-month exclusivity deal ends, allowing Across the Spider-Verse to launch on other streaming services. 2023.06.04 06:12 sirCota Engineers (and Assistant Engineers of major studios) who work on/with major label stuff, how has the game changed in the last 10 years?..

for me, particular to vocals working for a major studio for example: used to be you setup, open the session, if you have the files, you load em and tempo map it, find the key, have some tracks with your aux chain and fx. if it’s rap, it’s maybe 87-avalon / c-800-avalon … otherwise, maybe a 1073 and a cl1b, into PT, and you playlist takes, and build your comp take as you go. after a rough mix, you might send a password protected file, or give physical media. .. tho a simple mp3 email does happen.
tracking bands: i’m wondering, have any new mics or mic’ing styles or pieces of gear you’ve seen come into play and just take over that scene in the last 10 years?
editing: 10 years ago, the melodyne game was shifting to where you had guys who only tuned vocals and made bank to now what seems like the vocal tracking engineer is supposed to melodyne as part of the post editing that day? and we’d use various trigger plugins like slate or even just sound replacer to support at least kik snr toms.
sessions were clean, heavily edited and the rough mix is kind of built as you go… things definitely get hand nudged for just about any instrument or anything, and you couldn’t really just snap to grid cause you lose too much soul.
I dunno… is it still , artist comes in late, gets you mp3, you load & loop, and go smoke a cig till they’re ready to lay one down?
actually, i’m thinking have you seen any mics/hardware/plug-in/workflow format/editing/software/things not being done anymore (printing mix to 1/2” tape etc)?
every decade has an identifiable style of repeat fav gear or engineering styles that are identifiable .
what has changed between 2010 and now?

2023.06.04 06:08 KAL8731 My thoughts on Maureen Ryan's Vanity Fair article on LOST.

Now that I've had a few days to process the information we've been given about the troubling behind the scenes issues, I've decided to talk about it.
Let me just preface this by saying that I'm proud of the cast and crew members that have spoken out against what went on behind the scenes & I hope they're doing well.
First, I'm going to respond to the criticisms of the way the POC characters were written in the show:
WALT: I was happy about the fact that his character was given a satisfying conclusion in "The New Man In Charge" & the epilogue did provide a valid reason for why Walt wasn't at the church at the end.
But, if you're planning on making a T.V. show in which the narrative is designed to cover a short period of time, don't write child characters into the show.
Also, Malcolm David Kelley could've returned as a series regular in the last 2 seasons. By the time Season 5 began filming, Kelley became the appropriate age to play Walt again.
MICHAEL: I liked Michael in Season 1, but I hated him in Seasons 2 & 4. I understand that his son was kidnapped, but he did a lot of stupid and horrifying things in order to get his son back.
Even when he went on his redemptive path in Season 4, I still hated him. He told Walt that he murdered Ana-Lucia & Libby to save him which further traumatized him & he tried to blame Ben for killing them despite the fact that Ben never told him to do so.
SAYID: Sayid was one of my favorite characters during the earlier Seasons, but they ruined the character in the latter half of the series. They turned him into an assassin who nearly murdered a 12 year old boy (yes, I know it was a young Ben Linus, but he was still a child).
JIN & SUN: I loved Sun throughout the show & I grew to love Jin After Season 1. But, Jin choosing to die with Sun was an incredibly selfish act. Did he not care about the fact that he had a daughter at home?
ANA LUCIA: I never liked her.
HURLEY: I always loved him.
EKO: I loved Eko.
ROSE: I didn't care for the character. I didn't hate her nor liked her, she might as well have been a redshirt with extended lines of dialogue. Love the actress though.

After hearing that Lindelof and Cuse didn't really give a shit about the POC characters in the show, it perfectly explains why most of these characters were written the way they were.
Also, Lindelof & Cuse revealed in a 2018 interview that Eko was supposed to die in the Season 3 finale, but they killed him off earlier than they were supposed to because the actor wanted to leave Hawaii.
They also revealed that Charlie's death replaced what would've been Eko's death in the Season 3 finale.

Here's my thoughts on Carlton Cuse:
The LOST writers felt that unlike Lindelof, Cuse didn't have any talent. I personally don't agree with this. He wasn't given credit, but Cuse collaborated with Jeffrey Boam on the scripts for Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade and Lethal Weapon 2--both of which are considered good sequels.
Boam & Cuse were the creators of "The Adventures Of Brisco County Jr." & Cuse was the showrunner. "Brisco County Jr." was well received by critics & it developed a cult following.
Cuse was the developer & co-showrunner of "Bates Motel" which was well received.
Cuse was the co-creator of "Colony" which was well received.
Cuse was the developer & co-showrunner on "Five Days At Memorial" which was well received.

As a person, Cuse is not only a massive asshole, but he's also a hypocrite.
In public, Cuse has spoken about his support for the #Metoo movement, the importance of diversity and inclusivity, & he's even hired women & a POC man to be his co-showrunners on his television projects. Knowing what we know now, he was clearly trying to make people think that he's someone that he isn't.
Carlton has a son named Nick Cuse who worked with Lindelof on "Watchmen", "The Leftovers", & "The Hunt".
Nick also worked on the mini-series adaptation of "Station Eleven" which was developed by "Leftovers" writer Patrick Somerville, and he was a writer on Cary Fukunaga's "Maniac". Nick also did some uncredited script rewrites for "No Time To Die".
After Fukunaga was exposed for grooming and sexually harassing young women, Nick had spoken out against him by saying that he was an abusive boss who took credit for scripts he had written.
According to people who claimed to have interacted with Cuse in the past (take this info with a grain of salt), Cuse was thoroughly enraged by the way Fukunaga treated Nick. Carlton told them that Nick told him horror stories about Fukunaga that he didn't reveal to the public, & he said he was proud of his son for speaking out against a man he called a "monster" & a "predator".
So, Carlton Cuse was upset about his son being treated poorly by somebody he worked with in the film industry, but he clearly doesn't give two shits about the way he treated his writers on LOST.
Lindelof & Cuse may not have groomed or sexually harassed anybody, but Carlton Cuse has no room to bitch about shitty bosses.

My thoughts on Damon Lindelof:
I honestly don't know what to think about Lindelof at this point.
He seems to want people to believe that he's changed in the years since LOST ended, & he has worked with more diverse writers on his subsequent shows, but Lindelof is a man who has openly admitted to being "a very talented liar".
What are your thoughts?

TLDR: Should I focus on enchantment bonuses, or item rarity, or dps, and/or item power?
Hello~ This is my first Diablo game, and I was hoping someone could help me with which stats to prioritize.
I have a frost sorc build that utilizes cc and vulnerability so these enchantments are pretty great for me. But I'm curious if I should switch to the legendary staff that has a higher DPS and item power. I'm still early in the game but thought the knowledge would help in the long run anyways.

2023.06.04 06:03 SSJVentus Deciding between too many interesting characters?

Hey everyone! I really like comics and even took a comic book class where we read different comics revolving around mythology including Wonder Woman and Thor.
However, every time I want to get into modern comics, I find myself with the same issue: There are too many characters I'm interested in!
I've read things like Batman Hush, Ultimate Spider-Man, Infinity Gauntlet, Civil War, Flashpoint etc and typically have a great time, but find it harder to decide on a non event/special mini series run. One of my favorite ever is Spider-Man Blue and I love Spider-Man!
But I also want to read Flash, Batman, Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider, Green Arrow, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men, Daredevil, etc and tend to find myself overwhelm and just lean towards an event book instead.
Any advice on deciding which character to start from with comics that are currently coming out?

2023.06.04 05:57 Wooden_Desk_2389 Advice for how to help my husband after he cut off his father

Hi there. Just as the title of the post says, I’m looking to get some perspective on how I, as a wife, can best support my husband as he has recently cut ties with his father and is taking it pretty hard. I’ll provide some background in the hopes that some of y’all have had similar experiences/can relate a bit more.
My husband lost his mother when he was very young. His dad never fully processed the loss, obviously it was traumatic for all of them. My husband enlisted in the Marines to cope. His dad remarried and got a whole new family to cope (new wife with three kids and a boatload of grandchildren)
Over the years, his dad began distancing himself. Getting rid of all belongings from his life before he remarried, taking down all the photos of my husband and his brother (replaced with photos of his new wife’s children), only talking to them on their birthdays once a year, etc.
Fast forward to the most significant events over the last two years. Two years ago when we got married, my husband and I were invited and then uninvited from Thanksgiving with his dad. It was a big thing, turns out it’s because he didn’t like my new Longhorn skull tattoo because he thought it was a pagan symbol (he went so far as to talk to his priest about it…I’ll let you unpack that one), and he didn’t want his precious grandchildren being influenced by a “devil worshipper” (mind you I’m a former special education teacher and all of their grandchildren love me…but I digress)
Husband and his brother tried to tell their dad that his behavior over the years, including this holiday debacle, was putting a lot of strain on their relationship and that they needed to fix this. They told him they felt abandoned. Their dad did nothing to change. Finally, on my husbands birthday this year, he couldn’t take it anymore. He ended up completely telling his dad off and he did not hold back even a little. It was brutal, but not out of line all things considered. The whole thing ended with my husband telling his dad that he can come to our house and apologize face to face so that this can be put behind us once and for all, or he was done. His dad once again chose to do nothing, so my husband has decided he’s done.
Grieving the actual loss of one parent is hard enough, but grieving the loss of another while they’re technically still alive has got to be even more of a mind fuck. I want to do literally anything and everything that I can to be supportive, so I’m wondering if any men out there have any advice for me (bonus points if you’re also a veteran who understands the struggle to show vulnerability/emotion)
Thank you in advance, I just want to help my best friend get through this 🖤

2023.06.04 05:50 Craig_NGC_2004 Unpopular (and probably a Controversial) Opinion: Azur Lane is now Softcore Porn

This may result in angering some people and me getting banned, but I will speak my mind out here.
The game itself is now softcore porn because of the excessive obscenity the game is adding throughout the months.
I'm alright with showing obscenity here and there, but I think it has gone too far.
The addition of Implacable who LOOKS like a whore disguised as a nun, to N. Jersey's newest skin having a special interaction in which she looks like she's having sex with somebody, and Regensburg who has little decency in what she wears. Moreover, some of the characters that are added have insane chest sizes, like tits over half the size of their heads, and some characters have little clothing whatsoever. (Agir, N. Jersey, Regensburg, Implacable, Brunhilde, and a lot more.)
Don't forget the many, many loading screens this game has.
Of course, I have no right to tell people what they should spend their money on, or what they should like and love. But my point is that this game is officially softcore porn that's somehow rated 13+. If AL was real, a lot of the characters would be reprimanded for their indecent clothing, poor attitudes, and poor mannerisms.
I won't be surprised if Manjuu adds a character or a skin to which the privates are exposed.
What do I want from AL? In all honesty, nothing. Barely anything in AL is appealing to me now other than a handful of characters.

2023.06.04 05:42 TwylaL NASA task force: They are not NASA employees, not all scientists, and are not all in agreement

I'm seeing significant misconceptions about the members of the NASA Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Study Team (UAPST). Some of that is from sloppy writing in the mainstream media, some is just assumptions.
This group is individuals chosen by NASA from outside NASA reflecting a variety of opinions, approaches, and expertise to apply to the question of UAP. Some are hostile to the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis; some are willing to accept it as a possibility. Not all are scientists, though all have science training. They have not seen classified material. I get the impression they haven't had many meetings and haven't actually discussed much to come to consensus. The budget for the committee was only $120k. Some have worked for NASA in the past. One interesting point is that all sixteen were NASA's "first picks" -- no-one who was invited turned down the opportunity. They have received harrassment from both the "believer" and the "conventional academy" sides of the spectrum; possibly also hostility from the Fundementalist Christian leadership who consider UFOs to be demonic manifistations.
Contrary to news reports, their mission was not to solve the UAP problem, but to to come up with ways to solve the UAP problem using NASA's publicly available data already collected in various Earth and Space surveys (satellite stuff). A historical review of NASA's photography and videography and of statements made by astronauts in the past wasn't in their remit. (Though let's face it nothing was stopping any of them from picking up a book.) AS far as I know, no public statement has been made outlining what evidence they did review; I certainly hope it will be in their report.
The members of NASA’s independent study team on unidentified anomalous phenomena are:
David Spergel was selected to chair NASA’s independent study on unidentified anomalous phenomena. He is the president of the Simons Foundation where he was the founding director of its Flatiron Institute for Computational Astrophysics. 2023.06.04 05:40 SecretScrappy I feel like a failure and I’m not sure what else to do about it.

I have created art all my life. It began making comic books, character designs, realism (as much as I could make it) and turned to painting during Covid as well as specializing in a digital photography program for a couple years, and having a good niche in photomontages.
I am majoring in graphic design, and I’m about to be in my senior year. I’m nervous. I’m nervous about making a huge senior thesis, nervous about after graduation, etc. My art is never good enough and I believe that people who look at it say and say is good is lying. It doesn’t seem impressive. Which is fine, I guess, I know I’m not some sort of graphic design prodigy like other people in my class, but graphic design is competitive. I try my best to word hard and practice but I’m starting to get to a point of burnout and exhaustion.
Other graphic designers make it look so easy. Some students in my class at my age already have full time jobs, or have a successful freelance. It makes me so nervous. I hate falling behind. I hate feeling so competitive. I can never talk about it with other people in my class because I don’t want to complain, or just look weak and whiny. I mean we discuss how annoyed we are with projects and professors, but not as deep as “This work, or in general this major” makes me feel like I’m drowning and I produce average work.” Do you know what I mean? I feel like if I talk about it in the graphic design subreddit, I feel like I’ll get looked down upon. I’ve had very pretentious comments on there when I ask for advice on portfolios or career choices. Why would it be any different when it would be my own feelings instead of a design work?
I just don’t want to be seen like I’m a terrible artist when I’ve been working my whole life for this. I know it’s my art and I can do whatever I want and nobody can change that, but for graphic design I NEED people to like my art so I can design for them. It’s such a competitive field, and don’t even get me started on the big rise of AI into the design world as well. I’m working as hard as I can, and it’s never enough, and I’m scared.

2023.06.04 05:30 PunkrockPopeye Beat Em'!

Beat Em'!
"Beat Em'!"
Sometime among the events of the very first Kinder Cosmic...
The director of the United States Space Force marches back and forth before a gathered group of several hardened space marines all standing at attention within a large training room as he addresses the group with a general Patton like speech.
USSF Director: Ladies and gentlemen...We are at the precipice of the dawn of a new age!
*The group murmurs amongst one another curiously.
USSF Director: Time and time again threats from opposing galaxies, dimensions, and outer worlds; some beyond the very realm of human comprehension have descended upon our little blue marble suspended in space and threatened our quality of life, our society, our safety, our sovereignty and our very existence!
*Several members of the group shudder and gasp as the director continues his sermon.
USSF Director: If the citizens of this United States, no...The very world itself are to maintain our status qu-
*The group diverts their attention behind the director towards the sound of a loud, laborious sigh.
*The director shoots a disapproving glare at the alien grey known as Alpha as he continues to speak.
USSF Director: As of late, the only force standing between the citizens of this planet and total annihilation has been...
The lady astronaut and appointed liaison to the greys; one Luna Valentina gently pushes the little grey alien known as Jorg towards the middle of the room as she whispers in his earholes.
Luna: ...Go ahead, Jorg!
*Dressed in a bright red silk dress and miniskirt with a purple bandanna tied tightly around the crown of his head; Jorg stares at the hem of his dress with either side clasped tightly within his hands as he swings his hips from side to side and hums happily as the dress flutters back and forth.
The USSF Director sighs apathetically as he continues to speak, pointing at the little grey now standing beside him.
USSF Director: W-What...
*The Director shields his mouth and whispers to Alpha and Luna as Jorg continues swaying unmoved and unbothered.
USSF Director: What th-....What is this?
*Luna laughs and smiles as she replies patiently.
Luna: The only way I could get him to cooperate is if I let him wear his dress!
*The Director stares at Jorg still humming and fluttering from side to side and then Alpha confusedly.
Alpha: He thinks it makes him stronger...
*Luna giggles as she follows Alpha’s words.
Luna: He...he doesn't understand how feminism works!
*The Director stares at the flamboyant grey and then Alpha once more.
*Alpha throws his hands up as he replies.
Alpha: Who the hell am I to tell him otherwise? As far as I know it probably does!
*The USSF Director sighs frustratedly as he quips.
USSF Director: Jesus fucking Christ...Can he fight wearing it?
*Alpha smirks mischievously as he speaks.
Alpha: ...Jorg? Jorg can fight in anything, anywhere, at anytime!
USSF Director: Fine...Well I guess we'll conti-
*Suddenly the Director is interrupted by a massive, muscled and imposing Sergeant who addresses the group obnoxiously.
Sergeant: Why is that little alien wearing a fuckin' miniskirt!?
Luna snaps defensively.
Luna: HE'S IN TOUCH WITH HIS FEMININE SIDE!
*A private nearby mutters knowingly.
Private: Well, I heard that lil' shit is completely unhinged!
*The group of hardened space marines murmur amongst one another as Luna plants her hands on her hips and speaks once more.
Luna: NO HE ISN’T! HE SAVED YOUR IGNORANT ASSES!
*The Sergeant points at the preoccupied grey as he speaks once again.
Sergeant: That scrawny, 80 lbs, ugly ass little critter? Saved what? Ru Paul's drag race?
*The private glares at the Sergeant standing beside him confusedly as he continues to speak.
Private: Where the hell have you been man!? You didn't hear about what happened in Tulsa?
*The Sergeant cuts a sidelong glance at the private as he continues to speak.
Sargeant: Stationed abroad... No phones, or internet, or TV, or electricity, or running water...not even a fuckin working toilet! So no...I don't know "what happened in Tulsa".
Private: ...Oh. Well I HEARD he leveled half a city fighting some interstellar Lovecraftian planet killer...
USSF Director: OFFICIALLY THAT WAS A LEVEL 4 EARTHQUAKE!
Private: SURE BOSS! whatever y'all say, it's not like it hasn't been cycling all over Tiktok for months...
USSF Director: RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA! A DIVERSIONARY TACTIC TO UNDERMINE UNITED ST-
*Alpha sighs again loudly.
*As the group continues to bicker incessantly the USSF Commander from "Kinder Cosmic: Paradise Lost" strolls into the training room and smiles with a large grin as he leans against a supply depots consignment widow and addresses it's quartermaster casually.
Commander: Has it started yet!?
QuarterMaster: ....Has what started yet?
*The Commander grins mischievously as he continues to speak.
Commander: Say...Are you a bettin' man?
Quarter Master: On what exactly?
Commander: Costello over there of course!
*The Quarter Master stares at the grey still preoccupied with his pretty dress and then the Commander once again.
Quarter Master: That sick lookin, effeminate little space midget against ALL OF THEM!?
*The Commander smiles knowingly.
Commander: You bet your ass!
*The QuarterMaster doubles a glance back and forth between the grey and the Commander as he speaks.
QuarterMaster: How drunk are you?
Commander: VERY!
QuarterMaster: How much do you wanna put down on him?
*The Commander reaches into his pocket then slams several stacks of money upon the window's table as he speaks.
Commander: My ENTIRE goddamned pension!
*The Quarter Master stares at the little grey smiling as he swings in his pretty red dress and then the hardened military veterans and finally, the grinning Commander once more.
Quarter Master: You're on!
*The USSF Director silences the gathered, bickering and murmuring group as he interjects.
USSF Director: QUIET!
*The group of military commandos quickly stand at attention as the USSF Director commences pacing and continues his addressment once again while Luna smiles knowingly and Alpha shakes his head from side to side...also knowingly.
USSF Director: THE POINT IS! That we're facing a potential threat that is completely out of human understanding, the very laws of physics itself and our current martial capabilities!
*The USSF Director points at the greys; Alpha’s arms folded as he stands like a solemn statue and Jorg still hyperfocused as he busily plays with his red dress.
USSF Director: Although they ARE friendl-
*Alpha’s face sours distastefully as he hisses underbreath.
Alpha: Pshhh...
*The Director darts a sharp glare at Alpha who returns it with a twisted, smug expression and then at Luna who shrugs her shoulders casually.
USSF Director: ....Although they ARE NOT THE ENEMY we can not let the future of humanity...
*The Director stares at Jorg who is still absolutely lost within his own world as he continues to speak.
USSF Director: ...Rest upon the strapless shoulder blades of one four and a half foot; morally and mentally compromised little...whatever in the hell this thing is.
*The Director points towards Jorg as he flutters and sways repeatedly.
*Luna retorts defensively as Alpha comments sarcastically.
Luna: HEY!
Alpha: Well...I mean, he's right. Man's still kinda a misguided idiot but when he's right he's right!
*The Director glares at Alpha once more as his subordinates murmur and contemplate his directive aloud amongst one another.
Private: We are so, so, so completely and utterly screwed...
*The Sergeant standing besides the private shrugs apathetically as he speaks.
Sergeant: I don't see what the big deal is...
*The director marches to and fro once again as he continues to speak.
USSF Director: That being said! The ONLY WAY to adjust our combat to this new enemy is simulated combat WITH THE ENEMY!
Private: I'M NOT FIGHTING THOSE THINGS!
*Alpha smiles slyly and quips sarcastically as The Director retorts with a commanding tone.
Alpha: ....Sissy!
USSF Director: Oh yes you will private! Unless of course you want... AN EXTRA WORK DETAIL!
Private: GOD-DAMNIT!
*The Director grins as he continues to speak.
USSF Director: Besides! You'll only be facing a single extraterrestrial opponent today, Alpha has adamantly refused to participate in this exercise...
*Alpha retorts sharply.
Alpha: I said, "You can go fuck yourself", that's what I said.
*Luna erupts with a riotous laughter as the USSF Director glares at Alpha in return.
*The Sergeant points towards Jorg still playing with his fluttering dress.
Sergeant: And lil' Miss Doubtfire over here? HE'S supposed to be our opponent!?
*Luna beams with pride as she retorts.
Luna: I wouldn't underestimate Jorg! He's wildly talented!
Sergeant: At what!? Martha Stewart style homesteading?
*The group snickers as Luna giggles and returns a mischievous grin and then quips once more.
Luna: THAT TOO!
*Alpha clarifies casually as the group murmurs and looks on at the little grey still lost amongst the surrounding atmosphere.
Alpha: Consent for Jorg is kind of a non-issue, he's barely aware of where he is half the time. When goaded he does have a certain instinctive enthusiasm for martial combat under the right conditions. I don't even know where he learned it, he just came back one day and knew it innately. Like a telekinetic amalgamation of something between Ong-Bak and Jet Li...
*The Private stares at the little grey in suspended disbelief.
Private: Under...what conditions?
*Alpha grins knowingly; as he responds.
Alpha: Basically...You've got to manage to piss him off.
Private: "Piss him off?"
*The Sergeant cracks his knuckles as he smiles belligerently.
Sergeant: Well this should be easy!
*Alpha shrugs unknowingly.
Alpha: Maybe...Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't! To evoke this reaction from Jorg or to "Piss him off"; it is like this ingrained psychological trigger. It isn't so much guided as a form of premeditated anger as a kind of pro-active defense mechanism. He's not even really fully aware when he does it. I think it may be a kind of "Fight or Flight" reaction he just does. Except Jorg...well...Jorg pretty much always chooses to fight.
*The privates eyes widen curiously as he stares the little grey up and down before him.
Private: Is he...is he dangerous!?
*The USSF Commander laughs heartily as he slams his hand upon the provisional warehouse window and retorts excitedly.
USSF Commander: YOU CAN BET YOUR ASS HE IS!
*The QuarterMaster glares at the USSF Commander as he chimes in.
QuarterMaster: I wanna replace my bet!
*The USSF Commander replies snarkily.
USSF Commander: TOO LATE ASSHOLE!
*Alpha, Luna, The Director and the group of soldiers all divert their attention towards the Commander and QuarterMaster until Alpha continues speaking.
Alpha: Jorg!? Dangerous? I mean...IF YOU DESERVE IT then I dunno...
*Alpha shrugs apathetically.
Alpha: ...Maybe? I really doubt he'd actively kill anyone though.
*The private throws his hands into the air and addresses Alpha frustratedly as the group murmurs amongst themselves once more.
Private: THE FUCK YOU MEAN "MAYBE" AND YOU "DOUBT HE'LL KILL ANYONE"!?
*Alpha shrugs once more...
Alpha: It's Jorg...Jorg is Jorg! You'll see...
*The private stares at the two greys one after another then retorts underbreath as he turns to walk away.
Private: I'm so not fuckin doing this...
USSF Director: MORE WORK DETAIL!
Private: GODDAMNIT!
Sergeant: Well I think they're full of shit...
Private: THEY TORE APART AN ENTIRE MILITARY BASE "JUST BECAUSE".
Sergeant: Of Non-combatant "week-long warriors" I bet! Might as well be a buncha national guardsmen...I mean...JUST LOOK AT HIM!
*The Sergeant points towards Jorg still swaying giddily.
Sergeant: ...There's no way in hell that little queer fella could take a seasoned soldier!
*Luna retorts defensively.
Luna: JORG ISN’T GAY! HE'S JUST SENSITIVE AND HE'S VERY SPECIAL!
*Luna cuts her gaze towards Alpha seeking confirmation.
Luna: He isn't...is he?
*Alpha shrugs unknowingly and apathetically as the group murmurs amongst themselves once more.
*The Private suddenly turns then approaches a series of lockers and containment bins stowing riot gear, defensive equipment and padded suits much like one that would be used to disarm a bomb or train a K-9 attack dog as nearly all of his peers follow suit...
Private: I'm not fucking with this lil dude without my PPE!
*The Sergeant snorts obnoxiously in response as he watches.
Sergeant: I don't need that crap...Besides, it's hard to move or fight with all that bullshit on! Whatchu gonna do? Bumper car bang him to death with it?
*The Private shrugs undisturbed.
Private: ....Whatever!
The crowd gathers all around the little grey warily; some armed with things like MMA gloves, hand-wraps, Batons and extended martial defense metallic rods as they all approach the grey from all angles.
Suspicious and cautious at exactly what the little grey might do and exactly how he might respond.
That is all but one, the boisterous military Sergeant who readies himself and then throws the very first strike at the seemingly defenseless and unsuspecting Jorg.
Without ever even lifting his eyes from the hem of his dress, in a matter of moments warping the surrounding spectators very perception of time; Jorg shifts his head slightly towards the left as the Sergeant's fist narrowly misses the grey by a hair's length.
*The USSF Commander slams his hand upon the provisional warehouses window once more as he retorts giddily.
USSF Commander: HAH!
What happens next can best be described through the conveyance of a matter of collective very short-lived and somewhat difficulty perceived moments.
The next soldier and the next and the next and the next; all of them simultaneously rush towards the little grey slinging their fists and their weapons towards the inattentive and unbothered little grey.
Jorg bobs, weaves, and feints his big grey bandanna wrapped head not unlike a hyperactive, super-powered Muhammad Ali; as fist and all flies from every perceivable angle, not ever touching him...not even once, his attention still diverted towards his fluttering dress all the while.
Another military combatant rushes forewords and thrusts a kick towards the grey; to which he spins out of reach with seamless grace as yet another kick comes flying from it's opposing direction to which the grey quickly ducks then loops his body around from underneath...still playing with the hem of his pretty red dress still humming to himself gleefully as Luna erupts with laughter.
Sergeant: What...what the hell IS THIS!?
Luna: I TOLD YOU!
Private: He....He never even LOOKED at us...NOT ONCE!
*The Director stares at Luna and Alpha then questions them curiously.
USSF Director: Why isn't he defending himself?
Alpha: ...Probably because Jorg doesn't see any of you as a threat.
*The boisterous military Sergeant walks towards Jorg then plants a single finger upon his forehead then slowly pushes him backwards; to which Jorg sways back then forwards then rests in the exact same position of which he'd originally been.
Sergeant: What do you mean he doesn't see us as a threat?
*Alpha responds casually.
Alpha: I mean exactly what I said! Jorg only reacts when driven towards it from an outside stimulus; when he himself, someone he cares about, or perhaps even others are under certain conditions of diress such as a threat or pressure or the friction of oncoming conflict. It is very difficult to tell exactly when this trigger will set off from an outside perspective but FOR JORG these lines are ingrained within his very being. It's like a reflex, he doesn't even have to think about it.
Private: How is it he can move so quickly like that? I could barely even see him doing it!
Alpha: Part of it is because Jorg instinctively compounds his telekinesis with Kinetic energy. The other is because he's clairvoyant, prophetic even. This doesn't just apply to the precepts of time or it's passage through the universe itself but also to an outside stimulus. But just like almost all things concerning Jorg; he isn't fully aware of what he's doing and what he does it its all interdependent on outside stimulus and outside perception and interpretation. In short, Jorg is like a living mirror in everything he does and reasons for doing them. A reflection of one's self whether they even realize it or not. He could punch through a two inch steel wall or bulletproof plate glass window faster than you could blink if he wanted to...
*Alpha shrugs casually.
Alpha: ...Only problem is it takes alot for Jorg to actively feel inclined to do so. Well...sometimes. All that being said apparently he sees absolutely none of you as an inclination for him to act...and so...he doesn't. He doesn't see any of you as a threat!
*The Sergeant fumes angrily and frustratedly as he stares at the preoccupied little alien frustratedly and then speaks angrily.
Sergeant: WHADDYA MEAN "HE DOESN'T SEE ME AS A THREAT"!? I'M A GODDAMNED NAVY SEAL! I DID TWO TOURS IN AZKABAN!
*Alpha replies to the Sergeant flatly and unflinching.
Alpha: Exactly what I just said...Your limited human capabilities and physicality to Jorg is a non-issue. You're not big enough, strong enough, forceful enough or physically capable through your own recognizance of being a perceivable threat to him.
*The Sergeant stands from the opposing side of the playful grey in the little red dress then angrily unbuttons and unholsters his service weapon as he holds it in both hands, pointed towards the ground.
*The USSF Commander laughs a riotous laugh as he spectates from the warehouse window some distance away then pounds the desk upon it once more as he goads the Sergeant playfully.
USSF Commander: YOU GET EM HOSS!
*The Commander quickly turns towards it's QuarterMaster then whispers as he winks towards his glare.
USSF Commander: ....Fucking idjit!
*Luna’s eyes widen with worry as she begins to speak.
Luna: I WOULDN'T DO TH-
*Alpha calmly places a gentle hand upon Luna’s shoulder as he knowingly interjects solemnly yet very mischievously.
Alpha: Nah....Let em'.
The Sergeant steadies his firearm upon the grey methodically as all of his compatriots watch onwards nervously.
And what happens next, again...Can best be explained by a breakdown of a series of events that through our perception of time unfolded within a matter of moments.
...But to Jorg himself? Well, that's another matter entirely.
Just like one perceptive light switch suddenly being flicked on from deep, deep, deep within Jorg’s psyche. The little grey suddenly raises his head; his black, saucer shaped eyes widened with a perfectly aligned subconscious awareness. One of them twitching erratically above a maddened grin as above and all throughout this training room; the loud deafening roar of electric guitar reverberates one ear-splitting and most deafening melody.
Loudly cutting through the awkward silence not unlike a high-powered circular saw this melody is that of the song "Beat It" the cover of an infamous Michael Jackson tune preformed by the band "Fall Out Boy".
https://youtu.be/Qt54wA7Z2LY
And as this guitar melody drones and roars throughout the intercom and sirens of the facility all around; As Alpha smirks smugly and Luna laughs...and then gasps. What follows suit could be quite accurately articulated as a series of movements so perceivably fast, powerful, and deadly accurate that one could quite convincingly say that Jorg DID move faster than a human could blink.
He quickly utilizes his telekinetic energy with one hand to jerk the firearm out from within the Sergeant's grasp not unlike a vaulted football ripped from between a running back's fingers. And as this pistol flies and spins towards Jorg he launches himself into the air, quickly preforming a spinning back kick that smacks against the gun sending it ricocheting and flipping once more until it hurtles directly dead center of the Sergeant's face sending him spiraling and sprawled out upon the ground nearby while the gun itself deflects, is thrown against a nearby wall and then misfires.
Space Marine: SHIT...MY LEG!
And as the lyrics of the song echo and vibrates all throughout this training room, quaking its walls and cushioned floormats with every progressing spoken word; the frightened private quickly turns to sprint in the other direction, absolutely ANY direction away from Jorg.
But little did he know; it was far, far, far too late...
Jorg harnesses his telekinetic energy to rip the man's legs out from beneath him, as he does Jorg quickly sprints forward, leaps into the air again like a telekinetic grasshopper then dead drops his knee into the private's back.
As Jorg "ground and pounds" the back of the privates combat protective headgear repeatedly in rapid succession; not unlike quick repeating Wing-Chun punches into the back of the man's head, striking and bouncing his forehead off of the training floor's cushioned material all to the rhythm of this melody. The surrounding marines look around at one another, murmuring in a stunned confusion as the private cries for help.
Private: G-G-GET I-
*WHACK! *BANG! *POW! *WHOMP! *THUMP-THUMP-THUMP!
Private: GET IT OFFA ME!
*The USSF Director points at the private then addresses the fearful combatants sternly.
USSF Director: ...WELL!? HELP HIM!
*One of the remaining combatants turns to kick Jorg off of the private when the grey quickly stops then pivots as if in anticipation of said strike; catches the man's ankle then smiles with a malevolent grin before twisting it with a loud *CRACK!
*Luna squints her eyes closed and winces painfully as Alpha grins a grin very much reflective of Jorg’s and they both comment.
Luna: Oooooooh!
Alpha: Fuck em'...
Elsewhere at the provisional warehouse window the USSF Commander slams his hand down upon the table once more as he also comments; smiling at the QuarterMaster with a shit eating grin all the while.
USSF Commander: That looked like it HURT LIKE HELL! GET EM' HOSS!
*The QuarterMaster also comments, sneering distastefully.
QuarterMaster: I fuckin' hate you...
Elsewhere amongst the whirlwind of rapid, successful strikes and all to a melody; Jorg now stands his miniskirt fluttering in training room's AC cooled air along with the motion of his movements with the Marine's now broken ankle held between the palms of his hands; the man still wailing with pain.
In an amount of time accumulating to less than the passage of a few seconds; the grey spins and leg sweeps the other man's remaining limb, tossing him upwards into the air before kicking him in the abdomen with a telekinetically reinforced strike that sends the man hurtling into and bouncing off of the nearest wall.
As another approaching soldier moves in to strike Jorg the grey quickly hops a foot into the air once more; then quickly plants a deflective side kick in rapid, fluid succession into the center of the man's chest which sends him staggering back just a few paces.
*The soldier hardens himself as he pounds his chest then closes in on Jorg once more.
Space Marine: IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!?
And as this melody continues to pound with a thunderous roar all throughout the training room; Jorg smiles a sadistic smile.
While the man races forwards to preform a takedown upon the little grey, Jorg quickly and acrobatically dips his head and upper abdomen towards the ground. With a certain level of martial flexibility mirroring that of a Shaolin Monk the grey lifts the pad of his foot from behind towards where his head originally was, arching it upwards and from behind his backside with his torso now angled downwards, he then slams the bottom of his foot into the Marine's forehead; stunning him instantaneously.
Jorg quickly rights his equilibrium and with a fluid, unceasing movement uses that very same leg to plant a telekinetically charged front kick into the man's sternum; sending him flying backwards and crashing into yet another padded wall.
Space Marine: YOU CRAZY LITTLE SHIT!
A remaining marine shouts at Jorg and then races towards him from a flanked position sending his own angled "axe kick" towards the grey's abdomen.
And as this melody pounds and reverberates the ether all around from every perceivable direction; without so much as a moments hesitation, forethought, or consideration Jorg side steps then archs his own leg around the own man's "Axe Kick" locking it into place.
*The Marine's eyes meet the grey's; whose deep, darkened saucer shaped eyes are deadlocked onto his own. Shining with a glossy, detached madness as the grey's smile widens. And with their legs locked in place, Jorg intentionally restricts the man's movement; the Marine's remaining free leg trembles as he utters words of fear and astonishment.
Space Marine: Oh....SHI-
*Before the man can even get the words out the grey hops into the air with his remaining leg with the other still locked in place, then uses his free leg to dropkick the soldier dead center of his chest with another telekinetically reinforced strike before quickly releasing his leglock to send the man vaulting into another padded wall not unlike a human bullet.
And as this resounding melody finally tolls onwards towards it's completion; the little grey still stands in the middle of this training room. In the exact spot in which he'd originally began; surrounded by moaning, bloody, blackened and bruised human cadavers.
Who at this point are each and all very, very much alive; though perhaps their pride...not so much.
*Luna shakes her head from side to side as the USSF Director speaks.
USSF Director: Well...we're never doing that again!
*Alpha stares at the director and smiles with an air of apathy.
Alpha: I could have told you but you'd never have listened...
*The private spits a mouthful of blood onto the ground as he slowly gathers his strength to try to lift himself from it, next to the still unconscious Sergeant lying face down on the floormat beside him.
Private: We are so...so...so fucked.
*At the provisional warehouse window the QuarterMaster counts out the last of his debt and then slams it upon the table towards the USSF Commander's outstretched smile now grinning from ear to ear.
USSF Commander: It was nice doin' business with you!
QuarterMaster: Shut the hell up...

2023.06.04 05:30 LokiWinchester92 Crash Log Help

Game crashed when I tried to quick travel to Kynesgrove. Before that I was quick traveling all over the map to see the modded towns and it was fine.
Still not exactly sure how to read the crash log.
II don 't know if it's a USSEP problem(it's the updated one),a skytest problem, a cutting room floor problem, a Kynesgrove problem, or just something else.
does someone have any ideas? I would really appreciate the help.

2023.06.04 05:27 richpeoplearenice calm amidst hysteria

One common trait of primary psychopaths is calm under conditions that the general public believes should make everyone hysterical.
I am not a primary psychopath, though my parents both were. I do, however, exhibit many primary-psychopathic traits.
I am including some personal anecdotes, slightly colorful to be sure, to encourage discussion.
Primary psychopaths are basically anhedonic, mistrustful, and often apathetic. Their sensation-seeking, rule-breaking, attention-seeking, paraphilias, criminal versatility, etc. stem largely from just being bored and depressed. I lack sensation-seeking: I prefer not to use mind-altering substances. I avoid entertainment and sex.
Sullen indifference is not lost on any reasonably intelligent person and repels them even when masked, leading to attention-seeking tantrums. Two friends who were firestarters as children grew up to set themselves on fire for the same reason: boredom and numbness.
Primary psychopaths are characterized by enlarged striata, visible on MRI, which leads to increased need for stimulation, and by the Warrior Gene. Warriors are routinely called upon not only to take lives but to sacrifice their own.
Intelligence is essential in any great warrior, so it makes sense that a warrior caste would be suspicious, bored and indifferent (callous), and more interested in ends than means (duplicity, lying, manipulation, ruthlessness, violence): if you enjoy life, how will you take pleasure in being a shadow on the battlefield, knowing that you may not survive the engagement?
If a normal person is threatened by Medicaid fraudsters, he will probably just take the medical care and hope the goons won't hurt him. In such a situation, I knew their goal was life insurance, not Medicaid fraud, so I tried to kill myself in ways that would have killed most people (attempted drowning in extremely polluted water, marked as a drowning risk due to strong currents, then drank my own urine for 3 days while stopping antibiotics midcourse, hoping to develop a superbug to thank my friends and neighbors) but barely hurt me: I am the son of an unrelentingly brutal special forces commander, who raped his own soldiers, castrated Blacks for sport, prided himself on devising new methods of killing with his bare hands, and lamented the unscrupulousness of people selected to provide information under torture. He and my mother -- a pedophile, castration fetishist, FGM fetishist, rape fetishist, trafficker (cocaine, children, slaves), arranger of murders for hire, money launderer, and money other interests -- conceived me with inconceivable impulsivity while cash-strapped, then took out a life insurance policy on me, circumcised me instead of reassigning me at birth as indicated, and waited for me to die. They threw in some fake psychiatric diagnoses, medications with disfiguring side effects, many medical rapes, substandard education, time in GULAG...
Daddy's second wife, who did her family of guards at GULAG in Siberia proud by getting a promotion to surveil rich people and push them out windows, stalked me for years, then decided to castrate and enslave me. I wish I had been reassigned at birth, but being 40-year-old nutless Lurch just doesn't seem like fun.
I refused slavery, so she robbed my friends to make me disappear into GULAG ( State psych). I let my friends know, so they demanded the money from the life insurance policy. Failing that, extirpation of everyone who robbed my friends. It'll happen.
Instead of killing myself, it may be advantageous to move somewhere other than a kleptopsychocracy. I have earned respect from homicidal psychopaths for staying cool when beaten bloody.
I have some classic primary psychopathic traits. For instance, I was struck by a speeding Jeep when celebrating my 26th birthday and Thanksgiving in 2010..
I was strolling across 3rd Avenue and paused to let the speeding Jeep, two blocks ahead of the other traffic, go by, figuring I would then just stroll to he curb.
My best friend at the time had a fight-or-flight reaction and risked his life to pull me into the path of the Jeep, himself falling down and being grazed in the process.
I was slammed directly in my left side, then grew giddy as I bounced of the hood, then the windshield, then the roof, which gave me a really beautifully blurred view of the white Christmas lights on the trees. I thought of the 1995 season finale of Law and Order, in which Claire Kincaid, played by Jill Hennessy (a then-famous Cover Girl model), was distracted by her conversation with her boss, Jack McCoy (played by Sam Waterston), and was killed in a driver's side crash. The lights in that episode were just like what I was seeing. How the hell did the producers know how it should look? I thought of asking a childhood acquaintance whose dad worked on the show to tell his dad, then lamented they would never know because I would be dead. I hit the pavement, landing on my back. The tires touched my left hip. I thought having crushed c&b in the middle of 3rd Avenue would be really gross, so I was relieved when the Jeep didn't run over me. I wiggled my toes and figured everything would be a stupid formality, which was true.
My friend stood over me, screaming. His hair looked so thick, he looked so beautiful, and so... bothered... I was thinking of how unfair it was that my birthday was being ruined by ordinary people with their procedures.
I was lying in the middle of 3rd Avenue, staring up at this amazing specimen, only for him to scream hysterically instead of helping me up so we could continue celebrating at the nearest motel.
They would inevitably call an ambulance and blame me for waiting for the speeding Jeep to pass, which indeed happened. Then tragedy struck: the ambulance crew had the unmitigated gall to tell me not to sit up and take off my shirt.
That was a vintage Brooks Brothers navy blue Golden Fleece tennis shirt. I was scarred for life as they cut the shirt, the scissors moving menacingly toward my face, just to remind me that I would be a miserable failure (true, but not because of the shirt).
I had struck my head on the pavement and could not urinate. I stayed on a Foley catheter for a while and walked out of the hospital the evening.
My only injuries were bruising, a scrape on my right hand, and a hairline fracture, barely perceptible on x-ray, in my lumbar spine.
My mother insisted I have physical therapy. I pointed out that there was nothing to do but wait for my body to heal. I knew she just wanted to play the hysterical mother, worried about her adult son who didn't know how to cross the street by himself. Yup...
When my mother was dying, I was livid that people were upset: I was the person closest to her. If I don't mind, how dare they encroach on my indifference?! I remarked around that time, quite sincerely and incessantly, that people who mourn the dead should be killed: not only for coveting the dead but for pretending to they feel sorry for the dead instead of admitting they feel sorry for themselves.
I really enjoyed exposing my crooked family to my former friends they robbed: they fucked up their payment plan and now they and their American friends, to whom they spread around my friends' money, cannot be saved.
I really hope they really, really spread it around, because then there will be mass casualties. If good Russians won't starve Europe, can they at least liquidate New York? It's like blowing up Syria: someone has to do it.
It would really work out well for me: I live in New York and my life sucks, so that way I shouldn't have to keep sleeping and metabolizing and would die knowing that the people I see every miserable day would never make trouble again. I could just die instead of making more decisions.
I always regretted not having killed my parents before I turned 12. Mommy got away scot free, but Daddy and his nearest and dearest fucked themselves.
I actually asked if I could help out with the torture, but no one needs me for anything. I'm always ready to roll up my sleeves to help a friend. If you can't kill your family, how are you supposed to kill strangers?

2023.06.04 05:25 SuzukiGrignard Lost Several Friends Due to the Actions of One PC - Advice Needed!

I am a 5e DM in need of serious help with a problematic player character. Dungeons and dragons is a wonderful hobby and even a way of life. Its more than nerds its a community anyways here's my problem:
My (9/10) players consist of my friends J (5/10), S (7/10), B (8/10) and H (male). They play a druid, fighter, bard, and 3.5e duskblade, respectively. Their characters' names are F, N, S, and K, respectively. And they all really like meta-humor, to the point where it clashes with my vision and tone for the adventure and ends up causing some serious issues.
I set them in a town that has frequently been raided by a marauding band of gnolls, and ive made it very clear to them in their interactions with numerous npcs that the gnolls were last seen making camp in a nearby dungeon, and that a large sum of riches will be rewarded to anyone who removes this looming scourge from the township's periphery. My players discuss pursuing the obvious intended quest, but then S decides she has a funnier idea.
So S has N procure dice from gamblers in the town, in addition to paper and quills, and the PCs hunker down in the tavern to undertake the overplayed trope of, you guessed it, playing DnD within DnD.
The dungeon master, N, begins their campaign in a castle. F plays a rogue, S plays a barbarian, and K plays a wizard. Their characters' names are G, V, and T respectively. The plot is that there are monsters in the castle and thats it. And instantly the three start taking everything incredibly seriously, slaying goblins and hanging on every word of N's absent storyline. It makes sense for F, but S and K have pretty good int scores so they really shouldn't be invested in that kind of drivel.
I am obviously infuriated. I send one gnoll, let's call him C, into the tavern to break up their bullshit and get them invested in the real plot, threatening to drink their blood and shit on their skeletons in my most gravelly register. The goal is to piss them off enough to get them to head to my dungeon instead. But the party's party needs a healer, so S casts charm person and C fails the save, so fine, guess he's their pal now. C plays a cleric named Z.
So I'm their heal monkey while the goblin castle campaign plays out. An emmisary of the goblins threatens to drink our blood, real original, so i try to befriend him, but i roll a nat 1 for C for Z and it doesn't go anywhere. And then, at my lowest point, i realize what i have to do to get back at these players. Between encounters, Z empties out the castle study of papers, quills, and dice, and convinces the rest of the group to start a DnD adventure in the courtyard.
"My adventure will be about a town under attack by gnolls" says Z.
"Sounds mid, i'll DM." says T.
I flip H off but N's mad her campaign's about to be derailed, so I concede. G plays a ranger named B, V plays a warlock named U, and Z plays a paladin named F. T being a wizard wants us at epic level, and puts us in a cavern full of really obtuse puzzles and traps.
B and F start checking for exits while U the warlock just sits around meditating for a while, V refusing to roll anything for some reason. Eventually B asks him, "Hey, you want to help or something?"
And U says "We are deep enough now."
Everybody's confused, F is like "What are you talking about?"
And U keeps talking with his eyes closed. "We are deep enough at last, the third circle. The pit of sand wells up with water. In these deepest recesses I have found the power to attain freedom, to ascend."
And then U eldritch blasts B and F, wins the fight, just wiping the party for no reason. And then suddenly he's not there in the cavern any more, he's standing next to T in the castle courtyard. And U kills T and G and V and Z, and then he ascends again and kills F and N and S and K and C in the tavern, and then he ascends again and kills J and S and B and H. He spares me as a witness to his power before breaking my window and flying out into the night. So theres the players all dead in my living room, and the gnoll plot completely unresolved.
I honestly don't know what to do about this warlock. Does anyone have experience dealing with a problematic player character like this?
