Just a funny thing I noticed elves that were written to be basically divine and almost perfect and are all white and are pretty much just better at most things than everyone else. The main hobbits whose main character traits are being incorruptible are white. And then the humans are black, the race that the intro gives the trait of corruptible, tho tbh part of the whole movies idea is the humans proving that the strength of men isnt weak but still it's kind of funny that in there attempts to be inclusive the perfect race is white.

Found a nice chunk today on a live birch and only harvested a portion of the conch so that the rest could regrow. I didn’t want to take too much and be wasteful. When I got home I inspected it a little better and noticed the black “crust” has these tiny white specs of something growing on it. I can’t tell if it’s a mold of some sort of lychen. Upon closer inspection with a magnifying glass it definitely looks like some type of lychen but I could be wrong. Iv already cleaned and cut up the Ground the damp golden veiny inside portions and began drying, but was wondering if these parts are still okay to use for tea before I go on an process the rest of it. I started my healing journey in the end of 2020. It was when I started therapy.
At first, I was doing therapy with an Psychoanalyst. After a few months, she said that I didnt have depression (that is what i always thought i had, since i was 11). I was sad and struggling, but the actual diagnose of depression, no, I probably didnt have - that is what she said. After a year with her, I changed to a Psychologist.
After two sessions the Psychologist said I probably had Bipolar Disorder. According to her, I was a person with a very white and black way of thinking, always hurting myself, and viewing things and people with extreme lenses - with a quick search i saw those were def bpd symptons. I stopped having sessions with her. The only good thing was that she pushed me to see a Psychiatrist. And that is what I did.
He told me I probably had Borderline Personality Disorder - in the first session. He prescribed me antidepressants and anxiolytics - i ended up never taking those.
The new Psychologist that i have to this day, says that she is not sure what i have. She doesnt like labels.
To this day, Im still very confused on what I have. And i still doubt that I have Bpd. Because I lack a lot of the symptons. But at the same time, If not Bpd, than what? I know that I have something, and Bpd is what I connect with the most.
Here is what happened with me and why I think I may have bpd:
As a kid, I went thru several traumas: i was in a car crash at 4 and i lost my brother in the accident. I remember almost everything of it. My parents never talked about it with me. I had to go thru grieve alone. At 5, my grandma sexually assaulted me. Twice. It took me years to realize what actually happened. I used to love her. My mom was also cold and distant, and im pretty sure i was neglected. I was a very lonely child; always playing alone, eating alone. Somehow I was always alone. Also, my parents used to fight a lot. I never saw the physical fights, but i could hear screams and things breaking. It was hell. I dont know if my dad used to beat my mom. But i think he did. What im sure is that he always cheated on her. I was bullied constantly by my "friends" between the age of 11 and 13. At 15 years old i moved to a totally different country and got bullied there too. I was alone with no friends in the first two whole years of high school.
I also went thru very toxic relationships. I was also toxic myself. If the person did something i didnt like or if i didnt feel loved enough, i would cheat. I cheated in all my relationships. I had a boyfriend that would threaten me, saying he would kill himself if i leave him. He would show me his cuts.
And in regards of the last boyfriend that i had (between 19 years old and 21), I also would cut myself so I could have his attention. I did that for him to care; for him to take care of me. We used to live in different cities, and every time he left i would feel like i was going to die. Literally. I told him that once. Once he left, I would be in bed all day. Crying. Grieving his imaginary death.
I also ended up very addicted to weed. That changed my life completly. i would said it saved me for a while; but then destroyed me. I had to move out of the country that i was living, drop out the university i was in and went back to live with my mom - all that to stop smoking. I was using other things to, but in a very unhealthy way (alone, in my room, over dosing): ectasy and ketamine. I also did mushrooms, which was actually good for me. But i was smoking weed every day, and using ectasy and ketamine and mushrooms, all in a period of time of 3 months or less.
Also, I always had compulsive eating... or i would either starve myself. But mostly eating till i get sick.
I do lack the agressive part of bdp, and this makes me doubt if i really have it.

If you have Bpd, please help me. I just want a light. I dont want to be confused anymore. I wanna know what i have so i can help myself better. Do you think I could have Bpd or something else? Or for sure is Bpd?
And if you have BPD, how do you experience it? How it is for you?

I only play on Server (Local on my PC) because now i dont have the lags when saving the game and i can save more often (every 30 seconds) which is great if the game crashes. It can also increase the game FPS when playing on big maps, but the local pc needs more POWER!

Okay so this year I really fell off as a student. I haven't completed most of my assignments and I applied for mitigating circumstances because my lecturers recommended I did because of my ✨personal problems✨ because my personal problems are the reason why I've fell off so hard as a student, and I'm not blaming something else entirely, I understand that I am accountable as well because it's not like I don't have any control, there are things I can do to help myself, even if I can't fix anything.
It's just for years I've kept everything inside, shoved it down deep deep inside, and I've managed to ignore it and still do decently in my studies at the very least. But I don't know it just feels like this year was my breaking point, and I've felt so alone in dealing with it all not because I don't have people I can talk to, I have those people but it's like the people who's opinion I care about most, the people I care about most, don't see how it affects me and that really hurts. I remember once I was crying so much over it and I was just told that it was my fault because I didn't remove myself from the situation and I should be used to it by now and be patient and I understand it comes from a good place, but still it just makes me feel sad, angry, hurt, confused, speechless in a bad way.
Anyway, I know I've been given chances from my lecturers with extensions and stuff and I thought that would be enough but I still haven't done anything. I'm so scared that my reasons for mitigating circumstances won't be enough, or I'll have too many undone assignments and I won't qualify for mitigating circumstances and I won't be allowed to progress onto the third year and final year of my undergraduate.
My lecturer once suggested I take a year out, work at my job and on myself, and come back and continue the course so I can achieve my full academic potential. And it's like, if I had a choice I wouldn't be against but I remember the first time I suggested a gap year I got threatened with being kicked out the house, and I know if I went to my parents and was like: "Mentally I've been struggling I've been really down and it's really taken it's toll on my university work and my lecturer recommends me taking a year out" my parents are both emotionally immature people and they won't be able to rationalise it, they'll feel like I'm blaming them for all my problems, they'll feel like they've failed as parents even though I don't think they have they've just made mistakes- but that's not a conversation I can have with them because they're not ready for it, and I'll just get shouted at and screamed at, my parents will blame the computer and the phone for everything and that will lead to me getting frustrated because they're not taking responsibility and understanding where I'm coming from, and I might even get kicked out of the house.
So I really need to make it onto the third year of my degree, I can't repeat a year, I can't take a year out because my parents would be furious with me and I'd never hear the end of it and I could even be kicked out, and if I'm not kicked out my life will just be getting screamed and shouted at for having to repeat a year and it will all be made out to be my fault which I'm not saying I don't have any blame of course blame lies with me, but it's unfair to say I'm the only one to blame just like it would be unfair on my parents if I were to say they are fully to blame for me doing bad this year and I'm not at all to blame. Black and white thinking like that is childish and you can't grow from it.
Plus I actually do like the degree I'm doing, and I am passionate about the career I want to pursue after my degree too, and I really need this to degree to do that. Honestly, I feel like I've found my calling, and if I wasn't able to pursue this career because I fell off this year, I would be heartbroken because I feel like everything that has gone wrong in my life so far was all worth it because it led me here.
So I really really need to make it onto the third year, and honestly, I don't care for a low or high grade this year as long as I can pass and make it onto the third year that is all I care about and next year I will work harder and do better, even if it means spending 99% of my time out of the house so when my parents are in their arguing periods it's normal for me to be out of the house and it doesn't feel like a chore or extra effort and I won't be involved in their arguments when they do happen.
I'm making dua for me too, but please please please make dua for me as well to make it onto the third year of my degree because I really really need it.

There used to be this little restaurant that made the best General Tso's Chicken I ever had in my life. Unfortunately, the restaurant shutdown and left a void in my heart. I tried many other restaurants around me however, they're all super sweet and missing the spice. So I set out on a journey to make my own, I kept chasing his flavor and always felt it was lacking. Well after about 6 different iterations I made my own flavor and it's absolutely amazing. I would love for some of you to give this a try and let me know what you think.

Tips & Suggestions ● I recommend two woks for this as it will allow you to move the chicken straight from the fryer to being sauced in a shorter time span then letting the chicken cool a second time. ● I recommend making the sauce a day or so in advanced including the heating portion. It allows everything to blend. Ingredients Chicken Prep ● Approximately 2lbs. of boneless & Skinless chicken thigh meat cut into 1-inch cubes ● Cover with Cornstarch generously ● ¼ tsp. of black pepper Sauce ● 2 Tbsp of brown sugar ● 2 – 3 Tsp. of corn starch (use to your desired thickness) ● 1 Tbsp. of ground ginger ● 1/2 tsp. of salt ● Red food coloring (use for desired color) ● 11/2 tsp. of annatto powder ● 1 tsp of ground chili flakes to add extra spice (optional add more the spicier you want it) ● 2 Tbsp. of soy sauce ● 1 Tbsp. of dark soy sauce ● 1/4 cup of pineapple juice ● 2 Tbsp. of rice vinegar ● 2 Tbsp. of white vinegar ● 1/2 cup of chicken broth ● 2 Tbsp of Hoisin Sauce ● 1 Tbsp of Sambal or Chili Paste
Frying & Tossing ● Frying Oil (peanut oil preferred) ● 1 Tbsp. of Sesame Oil ● 4 cloves of minced garlic Instructions 1. In a mixing bowl add the chicken, Cornstarch and the black pepper together and set it aside after mixing it. 2. In another bowl add the ingredients together and mix with a whisk until everything is dissolved and set aside. 3. Pour your choice of oil into a wok to where it’s about an inch deep and set to a medium high heat, get it to about 350°F 4. Once the chicken is battered and the oil is to temperature drop the chicken into the oil but make sure to spread it out and not over crowd the wok. Cook for ~ 2 to 3 minutes then flip the chicken and let cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until fully cooked. Place the chicken on a pan that is lined with paper towels to soak up the oil. You may have to do this a few times to cook all the chicken. Make sure to let the oil get back up to temperature 5. Important – Let the chicken completely cool down. This step is important to get the right crisp of the chicken. 6. Heat the oil up to a high heat around 375°F and fry the chicken again for about 1 minute. Place the chicken back on the pan with the paper towels. 7. Either have a second wok ready or pour out the oil into a temperature safe container and wipe out the wok if you only have one. 8. Pour the Sesame Oil into a cold wok with the minced garlic (use desired amount) can add more chili flake at this point if you don’t think the sauce is spicy enough. Turn the burner to a medium high heat (1 – 10? About a 7 1/2 heat level on the knob). 9. Sauté the garlic to your desired liking then add in the desired amount of sauce you want. Continually stir the sauce scraping the bottom of the wok so that it doesn’t burn (Very similar to a roux). It will start to thicken stop stirring and it boils you can either continue to stir so that it gets thicker or add in your chicken and toss it in the sauce. Make sure to do so quickly and get it off heat after 30 seconds. 10. It also goes great with a bed of rice. 11. Now enjoy the best General Tso’s sauce you’ll ever have. I'm sorry for doing this to you but I need help. Someone has to see this, to provide me with an answer. I see them everywhere now. I'm not sure if it's one or many of them, but they're everywhere and I'm terrified. Please, please, save me while there's time.
It started with an email, like one of those old chain messages that sends you a curse, except this one was mostly just blank. The subject was written as "D3ADMAN" and my curiosity got the better of me this time. So I clicked it open and all it said inside was "you." Honestly I thought it was some silly, dumb hoax, but it sent a slight shiver up my spine. Why would somebody sent this to me? But there were so many reasonable explanations that soon flooded my head and I soon forgot about it. It could remain in my bin until deletion in 30 days.
Three days - my final three days of happiness - passed and everything was normal. My mind wandered back to the strange email once or twice, but I already berated myself for my overreaction. Scared? Scared of what? A scammer on the Internet? An unfunny joke? I had no idea yet how I'd altered my fate, potentially irreversibly. On the fourth day after that email, I first saw them. That night I decided to watch an old movie I'd picked up in a charity shop on dvd. But I couldn't find the player's cable, it had been so long since I'd used it last. It was almost dark when I resorted to searching the attic. It's small, my attic, and poorly lit, but I had a fair idea of where everything was so I quickly found a box marked cables at the very back left. I took my torch and I ripped off the tape and I opened it up to my horror. Shock barely describes how I felt when I saw them. Inside the box, a face, horrific in its uncanniness. Pale white, grinning, without any teeth. I jumped backwards, with my heart beating loudly in my chest and I rushed from the attic, as quickly as my arms and legs would take me.

I was so wrong. The next day began as normal and I decided that the events of the previous day had just been some awful delusion amplified later by my sleepless state. Instead of dwelling on it, I dressed myself, headed to work and busied myself with my day. "How was the movie?" A coworker asked me, and I shrugged a noncommittal reply. There was no need to tell them why I hadn't watched it. They might think I needed help. But the rest of the day sailed on smoothly until I was confronted with a familiar foe. Paper Tray Empty the office printer read. I grabbed a new ream from the shelf and I opened the tray to an unwelcome sight. That face that had haunted me all night. I screamed.
Since then I've seen them so many times more. Always when I open. An email, a box, a paper tray... I've followed the pattern. Every time I feel as though my heart will explode, like I'm filled with an irrational dread. Whatever they are, they are evil, malevolent being or beings sent to bring us dismay. And every time I see them time gets shorter until the next... I've stopped opening things altogether. The doors of my house are all locked and my drawers are strewn on the floor. Cabinets, puzzle books, curtains... who knows where I will see them next. I've opened this app as one final resort, to find help. Help before they're everywhere... help before I see them every time I open my eyes.

I just finished reading Roadside picnic for the first time yesterday and it was great. I especially like the way the book portrayed the zone very differently compared to the many game adaptations like Stalker, Chenobrite, into the radius, etc.
In my opinion, the RP version of the Zone is not only mysterious, but also much more terrifying than its variations. So I want to talk about some major difference s I found after reading the book (shouldn't be much of a spoiler since its just world building stuff)
1) Origin of the Zone
Unlike stalker and other adaptations where the Zone is man-made or came from man-made disaster, the Zone in RP have alien origin, caused by first-contact event known as "the Visit". Which, weirdly enough, I actually find it more believable somehow compared to the whole noosphere thing.
2) Danger of the Zone
From my perspective, the Zone in RP is also a much, much more dangerous and terrifying place compared to the game.
In the game, sure there are phenomenons and artifacts that can kill you as well as mutant and monsters. However, it is still very much traversable by humans. As a result, half the danger in the Zone actually came from bandits and enemy factions, that is, other human instead of the Zone itself.
In the book, however, the Zone is a much more unforgiving place. Guns are basically useless in the Zone since 99% of the danger can't be solve with lethal force. It is so bad that, if you just walk a couple feets away from a marked route, you could be instantly crush by anamolies or worse.
Stalkers have to rely a lot more on their instinct and experience to survive rather than their combat skill. Many times having to use the remains of dead stalkers to mark places that are not safe to go.
Anamolies are also harder to spot. For example, let say you see a can of soda in front of you, but its shadow is a bit darker that normal, the can color is wrong, you cant regonize the brand, etc. That can of soda could be your death sentence if you aren't observant enough.
3) consequences of the Zone for stalkers/survivors of the Visit
Being a long-time stalkers or survivor of the Visit event in Roadside picnic is a fate worse than death. Not only do you only get small sum of money selling artifacts, but both you and your future children will also be mutated by the Zone, even to the point where you could no longer be called human in many cases.
As if that's not enough, the Zone also caused many of the survivor of the Visit, called emigrant in the book, to become a walking anamoly. If an emigrant go to live somewhere else, the rate of natural and unnatural disasters there will spike, people who interact with the emigrant will all die within a couple months, etc.
4) Conclusion
To sum up, going into the Zone at all seems like a totally bad idea in the book. Its a kind of place where it is better to just send in robots/remote control machine in rather than flesh and blood human.
I don't know how hard it is to recreate that kind of dangerous environment in a game, but it would be cool if future games can adapt more from the book in term of the various danger of the zone. Don't get me wrong, stalker is still a pretty hard game, it's just I wish the Zone itself is more of a danger as well like in RP.
TLDR: if the Zone in the game is a dangerous place, then the Zone in the book is a monster.

Hey guys looking for some further guidance as to whether this setup is worth it for a beginneintermediate.
I cycle 2/3 times a week (~80km; strictly road) and looking for an upgrade for my sub 1k bike. Recently been looking at a 7k cervelo soloist 2023.

Is this worth au$3000 (usd 1900)? I like the di2 and the carbon wheels but it still has rim brakes which for me looks like the biggest hurdle to get over. It’s the red, black and white colourway.

You know this story.
His name is Stannis. He is a second son. He is obsessed with his nephew, in particular this nephew's legal claims (to land, to wealth and power)*.
We the reader BELIEVE Joffrey is not legitimate, but that is not important. What is important is that Stannis is Joffrey's uncle. Joffrey is young (and the most vulnerable he will ever be in his life).
Stannis brings to the North a "red" woman. Men say she's essentially his "wife". She worships a foreign religion, alien and hostile to the gods of the North.
But he his not alone. As they say in star wars... There is another.
Tyrion.
You know this story as well.
Tyrion is a second son.
He is also an uncle. This uncle toys with the idea (but as yet does not commit to the deed) of murdering and overthrowing his nephew. He considers the murder of Joffrey and placing an amiable younger brother who he could rule though instead. A usurpation... You might say.
While we the reader are biased FOR Tyrion because we follow his POV chapters, I can tell you as an uncle it is NOT NORMAL to think about murdering your nephew. And if you doubt that Tyrion is a would-be usurper Uncle... Why else was he reading about Valyrian machines of war IN PEACE TIME (Robert's reign has been peaceful for over a decade now)? This is a clear reference to Shakespeare's Richard III who says he cannot enjoy peace time.

Again, it does not matter if Tyrion ACTUALLY killed Joffrey. What matters is that he contemplated it. He threatened it before witnesses. And was accused. This puts him into the archetype GRRM has made.
What matters are Tyrion's incentives which place him in competition with his own young nephew. What matters is that Tyrion fits an existing pattern of second sons, who contemplate usurping their young nephews.
Lastly, Tyrion fits this pattern in another bizarre way. He married a red haired girl. A Tully girl to be precise.
The Bloodstone Emperor
The Bloodstone Emperor is a usurper. We know very little of him.
We know he usurps from his sister, the Amethyst Empress.
We also know he takes a Tiger Woman (aka a "Cat") for his bride...
Arnold Karstark
This uncle tries to usurp his nephew (the rightfull lord Rickard Karstark). He declares for Stannis on an attempt to get the rightful heir killed by his Lannister captors. Furthermore, once this rightful heir was killed it would make Alys Karstark the heir. She would then be married off to Arnolf's son.
We do not have many details about the Karstark family tree but it's highly likely that Arnold Karstark is a second son as well.
Arnolf is another example of these re occuring usurper uncles. For all we know he is also a second son... But we're not certain.

Jon Snow... Who dreams of his place being in the Winterfell crypts... And not dragons or of Kindslanding or the Iron Throne... As would befit the son of R+L = J**.
Jon Snow... Who Catelyn and Ned Stark both dreaded as a contender for Winterfell against their own children. Why would they both dread this boy and his claims...? Unless they trumped the claims of the children of Ned and Catelyn?

*I believe GRRM likes the usurper uncle trope. It's villanized in literature but it's very understandable from a human level. Consider; you are an adult man, a baby boy is heir to something valuable. Why not take it from him? He cannot defend himself or oven defend the thing of value (a lordship, a Kingdom, anything of value). You only have a small window of time to decide before the child grows to adulthood and the opportunity is lost forever. It's easier to understand than most "villains".
**Jon Snow has nothing in common with Rhaegar. No songs. No prophecy. He's a little angry at being a bastard but not Rhaegar's famous "doom and gloom".
***All these years I wondered how Ned was a "Grey" (morally) character. GRRM famously once stated he only makes characters that are a shade of grey. There are no black or white characters, just shades of grey...Just like real life. But how would Ned be grey? Unless...
